“Excellent Hotel/Motel Christchurch”

We could not have been made more welcome by the owner of the hotel who prepared us a room ahead of time as we were transferrring from a neighbouring hotel. The owner also provided us with lots of advice on how to make our visit as comfortable as possible particularly regarding public transport as we did not hire a car during our stay.We were given a suite of rooms which gave us the opportunity to entertain some friends in some style and if we had wished a service was available from another hotel to provide meals in our suite. On tyhe day of our departure the owner had left for a short holiday but his interim managers were also very helpful and provided us with transport to the local bus station with our heavy cases for our onward trip. I can wholeheartedly recommend this establishment for an enjoyable stay.

At first sight this hotel sight seemed great other than for some road noise. The amenities were good and staff helpful. But the only bathroom/toilet of the two bedroomed unit/chalet was reached via one bedroom. This was somewhat inconvenient if not embarrassing. However our rooms were near the main road and on our side all rooms faced the access point of another busy hotel. The road background noise we could have lived with but the constant airport shuttles and other coaches drawing up,collecting and dropping off whole groups of customers from the other hotel right outside our room windows led to a very disturbed night and especially from 4.30 am onwards. We were left drained and glad to move on..
