This hotel was awful. Bedsheet dirty (with stains), towels were very dirty and full of holes. Bathroom was not fully constructed, missing tiles, broken parts.. etc I am very disappointed that expedia give this hotel such a high rating when it is not even close. I travel quite a lot to different parts of the world and I know what to expect more or less but this hotel has been terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and the stars should be just 2. Only good thing was the location. Not sure if will keep buying my trips trough expedia.. I have photos for proof if needed.

The hotel’s electric power is on and off. No air conditioner. The hotel rooms need upgrading. The hotel personnels are very professional, polite and very accommodating. They were able to transfer us to a smaller hotel.

Good location and very friendly staff
The room and the bathroom were very spacious. Provided water, towels, toothbrush, comb, soap, shampoo, in-room slippers, coffee, kettle and ref. Location: walking distance to different restaurants, pasalubong shops, tour agencies and motorcycle rentals. Cable TV provided, but not so clear, lines all over were present. WiFi provided, but slow. Good for browsing FB, but not for playing Netflix. Electricity was going on and off at night, but didn't bother me so much. I think this is the case in Palawan. Water - heater was not that strong. It was already in the maximum but can't really feel the hotness of the water in the shower. Housekeeping - not automatic. You have to tell them if you want your room to be cleaned and they will. Staff - they were very friendly, cheerful and helpful. This is what I liked most during my stay.

This hotel is located in a perfect location. The staff was very nice and we were able to check in right when we arrived at 10am which was nice. The rooms are very spacious and the WiFi worked perfectly. Overall a great place to stay in Coron

Great Location for Coron Island Hopping and Diving
Coron Gateway was a great choice for island hopping and diving activities in Coron. Though the suites are a little dated and the hotel doesn't have a restaurant on-site, service was friendly and helpful. Location is very close to the pier and local market. Walkable distance to many great restaurants. Suites are very roomy, spacious, modern.

Booked for three days, checked in the first room and it smelled really bad. Moved to another room, same thing! It was late in the day, so we checked out the next day. This hotel has potential if management will just fix the place!

Even if it is in a good position, near the departure of tours, but they haven’t got any maps or they couldn’t give you any information about what we can find in the neighborhood. There are too many ants and they ask us 1000 pesos per night for an additional single bed that is actually a mattress on the floor??? It makes hard to stay there with children. We didn’t take a shower for two days because at first there wasn’t hot water then there wasn’t water at all. We had problem with wc discharge during all the stay. Most of towels are overused. WiFi doesn’t work in rooms and for two days it didn’t work at all. Our room was very nice, but if you can’t have basic service it’s useless. Breakfast is not included. Really bad accommodation compare with the price

The pluses: Great location right next to all of the boat launches, convenient to everything if you want to walk the town, very helpful and accommodating staff with great attitude and desire to help. The minuses: old building in desperate need of upgrade all around, wifi almost never works, low water pressure but that's the case all over coron, daily brownouts when it rains. The rest of the story: a cyclone hit the area and all flights and ships were canceled so a sudden and unexpected stay extension became necessary. Coron Gateway Hotel & Suites jacked their prices by more than double even for their long-stay customers, while other area hotels did not. I can understand supply/demand but this was a shameless and outright FU squeeze. Would I stay again: not as a first choice. If nothing else was available I would choose Coron Gateway over a tent. There are other more comfortable options around Coron City.

Good location, nice staff
This hotel was right on the water, which meant that it was perfect if you were doing island hopping! Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only issue we found was that the rooms had some stains on the carpet and bed sheets. But that was the only negative really! Would recommend.

Pictures are deceiving
The rooms were nothing like the pictures. The whole place needs an overhaul. The rooms had dirty, stained carpet, cracked walls and mold. There were ants crawling along the headboard and on my sons face during a nap. When we informed the staff, they just came in our room and sprayed bug spray on the headboard and pillows. There was no offer to change our room...not that it would have made a difference. We had 3 friends staying and their rooms were just as bad. We left and found another hotel.

It's hard to say how good (or bad) this hotel is
It's hard to say how good (or bad) this hotel is because I'm not sure how the other hotels stack up in the area. Coron is not yet fully developed as a "vacation destination". It's very "native" - little shacks, stray dogs and cats, old, run down town. So, if I compare the hotel to the rest of the town, it is very nice. But if I compare the room to what I would expect from a 3.5 star hotel, it is very disappointing. WiFi only works in the lobby; the toilet seats didn't fit the toilet and slid every time you sit down; there was a dead cockroach in our shower, red ants invaded my suitcase, etc. I would assume all of this is normal for the not-yet-developed town. I must say that the towels and bedding were clean; the toilets flushed; we had hot water; the staff was friendly and accommodating; there was a security guard outside; it was next to the water; there was a restaurant downstairs; little shopping area behind the building.

Disappointing
We've been staying in this hotel once a year for the last 3 years and we noticed that the state of the hotel is deteriorating, e.g. the cleanliness of the room, the electrics are faulty and the lack of communication among staff. The last 3 days of our stay was annoying; I have to tell 2 members of staff that our room needed making up in the morning and find out that it's not done at all by the evening. I've pointed out that our room has faulty electrics and was told that an electrician will come and attend to it but no one turned up in 3 days. We have to use our beach towels to stop flooding the floor with leaking air con inside the room. My wife had to ask 2 members of staff for clean towels and was told itl will be delivered but she ended up marching to the reception with wet towels to make a point that she's been waiting for dry and clean towels for too long. The whole moan might sound pathetic but, hey, we are on holiday and no one wants stress on a paid holiday. Certainly not coming back in this hotel again.

Overall, the location is fantastic. It's right next to the sea port where you get on your island hopping boat. Other than that, i'd stay elsewhere if you're looking for a better hotel in terms of comfort. I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the room. We had a mosquito problem the first night that we stayed there out of 3 evenings. We asked the staff to get rid of the mosquito and they did. The hotel staff is fantastic. I only have complaints on the actual hotel itself. They were doing some sort of construction literally right outside our hotel room door - they were fixing something in the attic or some electrical work. The hotel doesn't really have a lounge area or swimming pool if you wanted to relax. Overall, people and service are great but hotel the hotel condition could be improved. Management need to spend some capital on tidying up the hotel.

We missed our flight to coron due to non notification of the airline for its reschedule because of the coming typhoon.we were 2 days delayed but the staff made an adjustment with our booking with no expense on us.the room was big for a couple like us.toilet and bath was spacious too.the hotel was near the port, walking distance from mt. Tapyas, we were able to capture the amazing sunrise, the hotel was very close to the market and restos.the staff also gave us huge discount for the remaining nights stayed in the hotel. Only booked 3 nights so we can try the other nearby hotels, but since we're satisfied, we chosed to stay up to the day of our departure.

The place is awesome! We loved the people and location, the only problem however was a few large cockroaches in our Executive Suite. It happens and was not the big of deal but it was a great time staying there.

Demolition time
Finished the Tao Adventure, landing in Coron. The Gateway looks great in pictures and ever so disappointing in person. Blood stains on the sheets (see pics), stained carpet (think frat house), low lighting, Aircon left on for 4 days in my room and never cold, towels had holes and rips (disturbing), dead roach and fly parked next to my bed for 4 days, left my room at 10am and asked HK to clean, returned at 7pm and breakfast dishes still on the table in my unmade room. I asked to have the cabinet fixed and the room valet laughed at me. Two screws can't be found? The mgr was called to my room, he never showed. I asked for him again as I sat in the dining area waiting over an hour. He surfaced after I left (have resources). The front desk is probably worn out from this improperly managed outfit and they rarely acknowledge you. The housekeeping and cleaning crew were always apt to say hi and smile. I do thank this hotel for the bday cake and balloons in my room (what a surprise) although paying for the upgraded room was senseless. After spending 5 days in mosquito nets and bamboo huts, I was hoping to have a comfortable stay with my girl, we were in for a surprise alright. The restaurants around town have tasty eats and made up for the diabolical dungeon experience. Rent a scooter and take a ride to the hot spring but go no further. The beaches past the hot spring are not suitable for swimming. Best bet is the TAO tour or go Island hopping for the best snorkeling experiences.
Burned cord with electrical tape, hinge was presented this way and never addressed.
This picture still haunts me. I actually miss my roach and fly buddies. :(

Comfortable and personal
The hotel is a little tired due to its age but the rooms are really big and extremely comfortable. The location is perfect for diving, island hoping or just walking up the road for dinner. There can be a bit of noise in this area in the morning, prayers, roosters or weird music. On our first visit we were upgraded to the presidential room which was amazing. After a few days on an island we decided to stay here again before flying home . She acknowledged us as "returning guests" and again gave us a better room. I would stay here again.

Staff was friendly, but there are cockroaches everywhere. Found several in first and second room and saw one in the hallway also. Had to wrap myself like a burrito in the blanket at night..

Quarto e banheiro enormes, bastante confortável, mas faltando manutenção. Detalhes que fariam uma enorme diferença: 1)Troca de carpete, está gasto e com aparência de encardido 2) Varanda do quarto parece abandonada e inacabada 3) Banheiro precisa de alguns pequenos acabamentos 4) Travesseiros de melhor qualidade É uma pena, pois possui uma estrutura muito boa Os funcionários são excelentes , amenidades no quarto ok, acho que pequenas mudanças fariam uma grande diferença.

部屋が広い！
街中ではなく、周りが開けた場所で立地、環境等は良いと思います。 ただし、シャワー等のお湯の出方が不安定で熱くなったりぬるくなったりを繰り返します。また、水量も不足していて、せっかくの大きなバスタブお湯を張るためにはかなりの時間を要しそうです。 館内にwifi電波は飛んでいますが、パスワードを確認したら、働いていないと言われ使えませんでした。 窓ガラスの防音効果は低く、閉めていても外の音が結構入ってきます。

窓からの眺めはGOOD
部屋は広く窓からの眺めは海が一望できて気持ち良い。部屋は高級感は感じられないが、コスト的にまずまず と思う。　滞在中は大規模な改修工事をしていて廊下は機材が散乱し埃がすごかったが終了すればなお快適 となるだろう。

coron不错的酒店
其中一间免费升级带厨房的房间，但是好笑的是厨房设施是坏的，酒店房间比较大，设施保养有点问题，稍显老旧，细节方面注意不够。比如热水很小，WIFI信号很差，电视机遥控不太灵，基本没啥节目，柜子有点关不上门，一张床单竟然盖不上整个床，用了2张床单。 但是整个coron的住宿条件我看都很一般，这家在位置上，房间大小上都还算能接受，旁边就是码头和本地市场，可以直接去买海鲜。
