The experience was not so bad, I had a room with an amazing ocean view… although lapses in service provision were noticeable. The rooms were clean. Towels were old and room phone disconnected. The staff were friendly. The evening ambiance was just perfect. The bar closes very early… overall, I had a good one at Landmark

This hotel has the potential to be wonderful with a big pool and private beach. The room is big with nice furnitures. But there is a lack of maintenance and cleanliness. The bathroom air vent closer was missing. The towels was not clean with dirty marks. Some bugs in the room. The WiFi was not working in the room and that was never fixed until I left.

This is my third time staying at the Landmark. This place is a breath of fresh air. The breakfast has plenty delicious options. I truly recommend this wonderful place. Peace

Terrible! Dirty linens - towels are grey Dirty furniture. Outside terrace furniture is rusty. Garbage left on terrace. No hangers for clothes. No toiletries Kettle broken TV in bedroom but working. Mosquito net filthy

Great view of the Indian Ocean, adequate rooms with ac, and staff are friendly and helpful. Limited choice for breakfast, items were not replaced unless you asked! This is a budget hotel but prices are on the expensive side. Finally, my booking through Expedia for this hotel was a room with a view of the ocean - clearly stated on the booking. However, when checking in, I was told My booking was for a standard room which did not include a room with an ocean room! So, please be aware Expedia and anyone wishing to book this hotel.

I dislike writing negative reviews. Especially because this hotel has a nice pool with great views. And a play area for my child. Unfortunately, it also has roaches. They were in both rooms as well as near food during breakfast. In addition to the critters, the TVs in both rooms were bad, no phone in room (after manager assured it would be repaired, and a shower that quickly flooded the entire bathroom as well as part of the room. I wish the pool and view was enough to keep me there at that price but I swiftly moved to another hotel instead of extending my stay there. I’m so happy I only prepaid for 3 nights out of my 30 day stay in Dar.

This place is in very bad condition Some of the rooms don’t even have hot water The manager of this hotel doesn’t care and does not do anything when you complain about anything... A lot of unusual activities are going on at this hotel.

Beautiful ocean view..young waiters/waitresses provide excellent service but the manager is sneaky and can’t be trusted..smile but never correct anything..TV didn’t work, phone didn’t work, got locked in our room due to the large door off track that pushed into the wall..found a roach nightly in our bathroom..towels were always dirty..maid busted in our room one day after another maid had already been there which was obvious because the outside halls were mopped along with our room floor..took 1.5 hour to checkout because the manager guy tried to say we owed more money because he only had received $251 from Expedia..once my husband came to the counter after moving our luggage into the hotel across the street, the manager changed his tune and said that Expedia would refund us the difference..it went from stating I owed because he never got all the money I paid from Expedia despite the fact that I paid Expedia almost $400 to him now saying that Expedia would refund me..also, 2 of my necklaces went missing which is why I assume the maid barged in our door thinking we were still away..also they ran out of so many foods until we had to eat next door..the hotel next door was always packed with people while Landmark was a ghost town

Good hotel - great staff
Good hotel to stay if you need to relax. Also very solo as well as family friendly. Excellent staff, all services provided excellent - very accommodating. Very nice breakfast, lots of choice - will not go hungry here🤗.

The only positive about this place is the ocean view. Everything else is not worthy of mentioning but I will to save someone else their time, money and complete waste of energy staying at this dump. My room was changed 3 times in one week. Due to no WiFi in certain rooms and areas, broken locks on the doors and windows and the last room was the straw when I used the bathroom and the bathroom flooded! The staff knew of all these issues but kept smiling moving me from one disaster to another then they refused to give me a refund when I decided to leave!

Nice view if your room is on the ocean side. Friendly staff but poor service and facilities: a) My room was not made up after my first night until I complained late afternoon. b) Shower without curtain, causing bathroom floor to be flooded. c) TV not working properly, I had to reprogram channels manually every time i switched on the TV. d) Very weak wifi reception in my room, I had to use my phone as a hotspot or move to the hotel lobby for a decent connection. e) Room safe not secure to wall or cupboard, just standing loose in the cupboard. f) Cupboard without doors (one door stood leaning against the wall). g) No bedside lamps. h) Limited food choices, only full meals, no light meals or snacks. i) Beach littered with garbage that is washed ashore every day - not a place to go swimming in the sea.

From time of checking in, things went bad, reception could not find my reservation which had been booked and paid for on Wotif. Despite showing staff booking and reservation details, it still took 45 minutes of searching and phone calls. A king executive room was booked, the room that I received was definitely not as described, when questioned on the difference between this and a queen room with balcony, staff could not explain. Despite this I was stil charged the much higher rate. Breakfast is ok, just the usual fruit, cereal and egg station, coffee is only instant. Pool is good, large and clean, beach is dirty with lots of rubbish, this can be seen when the tide goes out.

Bathroom shower was very old with mold stains. Property was well kept. Breakfast was the best our of the last 3 hostels I’ve stayed at in Dar. Far from the city center. Would take ~1-1.5hrs to commute into town via taxi. Often Uber drivers are reluctant to bring you this far often times canceling trips. Commuting into the city is very annoying. Only choose this location if you attend to enjoy the beach away from the city.

The property was very clean! The staff were eager & available to help in any way. The hotel management has obviously put a lot of effort into correcting certain problems that visitors had in the past because the pools (kiddie & adult) were both very clean & the rooms were very clean & up to date. One slide on the playgrade is roped off (to be repaired), but the rest of the playground is in good working order. There is a section of the beach with a lot of trash, but during our stay they were working to clear it away. The beach is not yet “clean”, but if they continue to work hard to clear away the debris, it can be beautiful! We stayed 6 nights & had a wonderful time & our 4 kids loved it!
