Basement unusable - Nice location
The house was in a nice location- easy to enjoy the bars and restaurants in Royal Oak, and a short drive to Downtown Detroit. The first floor was clean with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom - that part of the listing is accurate. The basement flooded both days we were there, leaving that bathroom and bedroom useless. Anything that was left the first night on the floor was soaked. The owner said he'd send a cleaning crew but did not. The other reviews concerned me, but the owner assured me the issue was fixed before our stay. It clearly was not. I don't like to be negative, but I don't want anyone else to waste their money on a home that's not as advertised.

Nice neighborhood, street name was misspelled on the first message so had to reach out to the owner, go to the house, back doors were unlocked, place seems to be thrown together, toilet in basement was clogged, was told a day later to buy a plunger and would be refunded (good thing I didnt) While were out one of the days the basement had somehow flooded with water coming up through the vents seemingly, ruined my phone charger, couldnt reach the owner initially, got ahold of him and was told to check out in the middle of the night which wasnt happening with my grandkids! Owner promised a refund but still havent seen it or heard back from anyone after numerous calls!! Probably wont use VRBO again either since they are no help! DO NOT BOOK THIS LOCATION!!

Here's the reality; this is a house that was flipped to rent only for weekenders and not done well. Our stay ended up being terrible because of lack of management and communication. We got to the house later in the night only to find it had NO HEAT, 49 degrees and falling. What was worse was there was no place to go and no one could be reached. NO ONE. Wasn't fixed until later the next day, which we had to wait around for repairman. So we wasted 1/3rd of our weekend. Owner was going to send us a credit, he never did. Would steer clear of this one.
