Good in parts, some wonderful, some poor

Posted Aug 24, 2014
We love this hotel but the experience v much depends on the room. Outside of executive rooms the rest are fairly mediocre with v dated furniture and poor finish. Our room had a 3 inch gap below the door. Absence of air con is a massive minus.

Overnight stay on way home from touring

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Position - overlooking bay, lovely public areas and very comfortable bedrooms.
Location: There are many restaurants nearby which are worth visiting. Also, take the Dart train into Dublin or perhaps even Greystones.
My husband stayed (our fourth visit) in The Grand, Malahide, for one night on our way home from a touring holiday in south of Ireland. As usual, we could everything to be first class. We have never had a bad experience in this hotel.

Nice hotel ,but

Can't believe there was not unlimited free internet access at this hotel. Everyplace we stayed ion Scotland, England, and Ireland had free access except this hotel. Otherwise, everything was great.

No A/C and No Fans!

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The lobby and other hotel facilities were nice. Close to airport without being in Dublin.
Cons: Disappointed that a hotel this nice would not have A/C and/or a fan in the room.
Location: Malahide is small and the beach is dirty. Malahide Castle is a nice place to visit.
This hotel is close to the beach and marina in Malahide. Do not stay here if it's going to be hot. They do not have A/C in the rooms and there are no fans in the rooms. Overall the hotel was nice. The room could have been nicer especially since it was hot, our window only cracked a little and we had no view of anything.

Good hotel if a little dated

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Cons: Air conditioning in the bedrooms
Location: Lots to do! Get the train or bus into Dublin as parking is very difficult and the route is easy and quite cheap. Good selection of restaurants
This is a great hotel location wise. It is an easy walk along the coast or into Malahide itself, the leisure facilities are v good. This is the second time we have stayed when the main restaurant was not open in the evening which was disappointing and with no air conditioning in the room we had quite an uncomfortable night as the weather was hot.

Convenient location

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Location, places to gather and sit very pleasant
Cons: Breakfast
Location: Castle and little orange train well worth a trip
Would go again but be sure to arrive early for breakfast as food choice limited and overdone by 10 o'clock
