Great Family Run Hotel
Two night stay, very good standard. Family run with superb welcoming hosts and excellent service. Great breakfast also! Couldnt fault the stay and a much better experience than a chain hotel. Highly recommend.

David and Joan were superb hosts. They were excellent at making suggestions of where to go, things to see and do and places to eat. The hotel was the most beautiful old heritage home, exquisitely appointed and spotlessly clean. Would recommend to anyone wanting to come to the area!

Quality Stay
Great welcome, excellent room which was spotless and comfortable. The bathroom was well fitted and clean. Breakfast was superb covering all requirements. Fully recommend the Hill Hotel.

Terry and Lynne are amazing hosts nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble . Breakfast was amazing and plentiful. And everywhere was spotless. Car parking wasn’t an issue ample places to park safely also . Would highly recommend this lovely hotel and will certainly return if passing this way again.

Great B&B minutes away from train station
We had stayed here before and were happy to return. Room was very nice with spacious bathroom. Staff are very friendly and we really enjoyed the cooked breakfast. Would be happy to stay here again!

Hill hotel Dumfries - well worth a visit
Terry and Lynne are excellent hosts. Made very welcome from the word go. Hotel is recently refurbished, very vlean and comfortable. The hosts are friendly, attentive but unobtrusive. Breakfast made to order and very good. Thoroughly recommend for a visit to Dumfries.

One night stay en route to wedding.Plenty of free on site parking.Nice place full of character and period features.Room was spotless.Easy location for town and near to station.A good nights rest followed by nice breakfast set us up for the day ahead.Hosts were very welcoming and helpful.Overall exceeded expectations!

Terry and his wife are absolutely memorable - they know so much of the local historical information as well as guiding us to see what we were interested in. A beautiful property, the rooms were everything they said they were, great breakfast efficiently served. If you have the time to partake of the bar, you certainly should!

Best hotel ever. It was so good I left two reviews. Once for my room and another for my grandmothers room. Terry and his wife are incredible hosts. The best I’ve ever met actually. Beautiful hotel. We came to visit Dumfries in Scotland from the USA and we would highly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone who is lucky enough to stay there. Terry and his wife were incredibly accommodating and perhaps the most friendly hosts I have ever had. Terry is HILARIOUS and the hotel is gorgeous. It was a pleasure to stay there and we can’t express how thankful we are. It also has a beautiful bar and in the morning you will be given an absolutely delicious breakfast which came with our room. Thank you Terry, you’re a wonderful person to have met on our travels. Thank you for all the amazing travel suggestions as well. You will not be forgotten. Take care.
