It was great. Had a nice time. Steps going to the bedrooms upstairs are a little sketchy. Could not have my father sleep up there, was too scared he would take a tumble down them. You literally have to put your feet sideways and hold onto the rail to make it down safely.

A Special Place!
I love this cabin! It’s such a great and well preserved original cabin, but also offers newer amenities like washer/dryer and AC. The deck overlooking the river is so great. You’ll find an extremely well equipped kitchen, fishing rods, firewood, river access, tons of towels, super nice hot tub, I could go on and on, they’ve thought of everything. I would definitely stay here again!

Riverside cabin
Over all we had a great time . Disappointed that there isn’t direct access to the river bank , shallow water for the kids. The steps off the deck were too dangerous for senior members of the group . No mention of not having air conditioning on the second floor . Hot tub was at 105 degrees . After fiddling around for half an hour we got it out of hold position and turned it down and enjoyed it . We ended up having firewood delivered because no matter what we tried , the wood provided would not burn . What we couldn’t take , we left , so who ever is after us should have a nice fire . The cabin was spotless and comfortable . Kitchen well equipped . Bathroom very nice although it’s odd to have a toilet that runs on hot water ! Toilet seat was always damp if the seat was left down . Probably nice in the winter , seats nice and warm 😁. Would have been nice to have access to a hose . Close to Elkins for shopping and eating . Definitely recommend . Lol! Also , the bed upstairs is very noisy as is the floor . Standing downstairs when someone is up there , sounds like they’re moving furniture . Anyway , thanks for a very nice long weekend .

Short lived anniversary vacation
Unfortunately, we only stayed the first night there due to my husband twisting his knee (same one from an old Air Force disability injury) and we had to return home for all of our adventures involved a lot of hiking and white water rafting. :(

Perfect place to hunker down
We had a fantastic stay this weekend. The house is very clean and cozy. We decided to stay home instead of hiking because the property was so lovely. We all enjoyed the super clean hot tub and the closeness of the river. I felt like we took a step back in time…. Perfect place to feel a bit of history while also watching the Super Bowl on a flat screen. I would recommend this property for all seasons. Also- our host was awesome- quick to respond and easy to communicate with :)

Love this cabin!
Expectations were exceeded in this beautiful, authentic cabin. The atmosphere was so cozy, we spent hours with the fire place going and doing puzzles. The hot tub was spotless and it was awesome relaxing in the tub while watching the ice float down the river. We would love to stay here again, possibly in the summertime!

Overall we liked this property. It would be beautiful in the summer when you could take full advantage of the river just outside. Has plenty of space, we didn't even use the upstairs. Was great as a "basecamp" for all our hiking adventures

A beautiful cozy cabin
We enjoyed the cozy fireplace and master bedroom which were the highlights. The property is right on Shavers Fork which provides some gorgeous views. There is a house directly adjacent to the property which detracts from the location somewhat. That said, it was a lovely stay. The owner was gracious about letting us stay a bit later on our last day as we had a tree branch fall on our car. Would definitely return.

Fantastic cabin on the river
Loved our stay here! Beautiful old cabin with modern amenities tucked in next to the beautiful shavers fork. Great location for exploring the area, less than an hour from Davis, Thomas, Seneca rocks, dolly sods, blackwater falls, and many other local attractions. The fall colors were phenomenal. We're already making plans to come back in the summer so we can take more advantage of the river (which was frigid when we went, though we still did a polar bear plunge then jumped into the hot tub). Felt very private event though the neighbors aren't too far away. Highly recommended vacation spot!

If you are looking for a nice get-away with beautiful scenery and a cozy cabin, you've found your spot!! My family and I enjoyed a relaxing trip kayaking, fishing, and hiking. The hot tub was a nice touch at the end of an adventurous day! The host, Tiffany is great! Highly recommend!

Short getaway from hustle and bustle
Quiet, restful location with old world charm of a log cabin with many new world amenaties.. would have taken more advantage of the river except for our bad luck with storms. Nevertheless, enjoyed having dinner overlooking the river, listening to the water sounds, and relaxing. The hot tub is a nice touch as well.

Yearly Trip
My brother, sister and I take a yearly trip and this was by far the best time we have had. You couldn’t ask for more. Right on the water, beautiful view, cabin is rustic but has all the modern amenities. Lots of scenic areas within driving distance. Had a great time. Nice cabin but needs work
The cabin was in a nice secluded area, and very peaceful, beautiful place to be, but being an old home it had some areas which could use some fixing and upgrading. The kitchen and bathroom were upgraded, but the toilet had scalding hot water from the tank. We did ask about this, and were advised that they had to have hot water due to condensation issues, but being burned by scalding water splashing up on your nether regions was an issue. The screened in porch had numerous rips in the screens, and open cracks for bugs to enter. The living room was comfortable but very dark. A few table lamps would have taken care of this.. we did see that past reviews addressed this, but no lamps were added. We were there when indoor fires were not allowed, but burned logs had been left in the fireplaces leaving a heavy smoky odor that took over the cabin.

Magical place!
This is our family’s new favorite vacation spot. We had so much fun learning to fish from some very kind locals having fun in the river and relaxing in the huge hot tub. The master bedroom is also huge and has its own fireplace. The home feels like it’s Christmas all year round and makes you want to curl up with a book and hot cocoa. Tiffany is a wonderful host and was very responsive. We even tried to stay a few more days but of course this jem was all booked up. Will have already all promisedh each other that we will be back.

Great cabin in a great location. Very quiet, beautiful scenery. Cabin is very comfortable, the master bedroom is exceptional. Beds are comfortable, bathroom and kitchen are updated nicely. Great place to relax after a day spent outside, and good restaurants in Elkins which is a short drive away. We will absolutely be back!

What an awesome getaway, deep in the mountains!! The sounds of the river and the views were breath taking. The cabin was exactly what we were expecting! It was perfectly decorated for Christmas and very cozy!! We had everything we needed and relaxed a lot! The perfect place by the river!
My husband and I just wanted a getaway for a few days. This little log cabin did not disappoint. It was perfect! We had all our meals by the river and spent the rest of the day reading, fishing, and sitting outside. The cabin has all the amenities you need, new kitchen appliances, and a newly renovated bathroom. Highly recommend.

Perfect Getaway Spot!
We needed to get away -- COVID did a number on our family! This was the perfect spot for us. Relaxing, gorgeous views, peaceful surroundings, nearly no one about and yet still enough modern conveniences that we didn't feel too remote/out of touch. This place has the perfect blend of rustic and modern to be comfortable --an old timey feel but the kitchen, bathroom and master bedroom have been updated. The hot tub was perfectly situated for views of the water. The river was clean, cold and shallow enough for kids to easily play. We'll definitely be back!

Absolutely perfect!
If you are looking for a rustic getaway that will make you take a long needed deep breath upon entering, this is the place! Our family of 6 loved everything about this place. The kids could swim, fish, kayak right out in front of the house while we relaxed in the hammock, read on the deck or sat in the hot tub. The toilet is piped with the hot water, so that was a little alarming at first with small kids. The toilet literally steams as it fills and the tank gets HOT, so be aware of it. A truly beautiful spot for enjoying the moment and letting it all go.

Our group included two couples and an infant. We LOVED this cabin and hope to return again :) Pictures do not do this property justice. We enjoyed the views from the deck, hot tub, fire pit, and screened in porch. The water was shallow the weekend we were there but it was perfect for us to hang out in some tubes. Tiffany is excellent!
I loved Tiffany's cabin! It had a gorgeous spot on the river and the hot tub and fire pit were an amazing bonus. Our dog loved watching the fish swim in the river while we relaxed. There was a mix up with the cleaner because we scheduled last minute and Tiffany called immediately to apologize. I really appreciate the customer service and she was so nice! Great little cabin right on the river! Hot tub was very nice and clean. Cabin was so cozy! Upstairs was a little too much for me lol. You can see through the floor boards and it moves a lot. I only went up once and was scared to walk around the floor moved so much! It does say that there is a bathtub, there’s only a stand up shower. Made it difficult to bathe my 5 year old who takes baths. The bed was decent, a little firm for my liking but overall it was ok and clean. Very clean place! Great proximity to town, far enough away from everything. But close enough to go have dinner every night. I plan on renting again when it’s warm so we can go in the river! It’s a beaut place with a historic feel which I love. We had a great stay, and will be back!

Nice Getaway
We took a quick winter weekend getaway at River's Edge and enjoyed our stay thoroughly (despite the rain). What we liked: the location on the river, the updated bathroom and kitchen, the coziness and overall feel of the cabin, and the hot tub. Our criticisms: 1) The walk to the door was covered in ice from storms in the prior week and was rather treacherous to walk over. 2) The mattress and pillows in the master bedroom are worn out/flat. 3) While the tableware was clean, it seemed every cooking implement I tried to use had been put back into the cabinets dirty by some inconsiderate prior renters and had to be scrubbed prior to use... the pots were particularly gross. Overall, it's a lovely cabin. While there were a few minor issues but we both agreed we'd definitely consider returning for another stay.

A Perfect Christmas “Family Moon”
My fiancé and I had decided to get eloped and spend the week of Christmas on our “honey/family moon” in a cabin since this year has been so unpredictable. Although the driveway and walkway was a bit icy, the cabin had been throughly cleaned and decorated for the holiday. The late night Christmas eve soak in the hot tub, all quiet and peaceful in the first Christmas snow after setting out gifts was glorious. It stayed nice and cozy inside with the fire going while we experienced feel like temperatures of -6. Even with such cold temperatures the view outside was amazing and I was lucky enough to watch a bald eagle slowly fly by as it followed the river. We spent a lot of time inside with each other which was made easier with the impressive movie collection provided in the cabin. Our 2 dogs fell in love with the faux bear skin rug and spent the majority of their time warming themselves back up from frolicking in the snow. My only recommendation would be for the owners to find a more hypoallergenic laundry soap. The gain they use smells absolutely amazing but it caused an allergic reaction on my skin and we had to wash the bed sheets, blankets and towels. I also was caught off guard by the hot water in toilet...I don’t recommend using the bathroom immediately after someone else as getting a steamed booty was quite an odd sensation. (Also don’t leave toilet lid down or the seat gets wet from the steam). Our teen daughter found the old build of the house fascinating but wasn’t prepared to see through the floor boards up stairs and it made her slightly nervous at first...if you have little ones it might be something to try to talk to them and prepare them for. Overall it was everything we had hoped for and then some. Even the teenager said it was a perfect stay. We have already discussed trying to stay again for Christmas in a few years

Location is beautiful, nothing bad to say about the outside or the location at all. Inside needs some work. Cabin is so dark you barley see inside, needs either more lighting or LED bulbs. Also bulbs that work, had to go purchase light bulbs to replace several that were out. Instructions needed for the TV!!! The cabin has been equipped well but sooo much is broken and in need of repair. Shower/tub is gross. I'm glad my husband was along for the trip since I did not realize we had to split out own firewood. No big deal but should have been stated in the initial listing for those who may be unable to split wood themselves. Hob tub outside is lovely and view of river is great. Just needs someone to take stock of all the broken things and get them fixed or replaced. A little TLC would go a long way for this rental.

Relaxing Riverside Retreat
100% pleased with our stay. Absolutely loved the Rivers Edge Cabin. Enjoyed fireplaces in cabin as well as outdoor firepit. Love being right by the river. I wish weather had been warmer to enjoy all the entertainment the river provides with kayaking, tubing and swimming. Plenty of trout to catch. Comfy bed. Pet friendly. All amenities of home away from home. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub deck and screwed in porch. Cabin is old...would be drafty in winter..but still cozy. floor is a little unlevel. Lighting is limited but that is part of the old cabin charm. Wouldn't change a thing...except a little later check out time..lol. I would recommend it to friends and family and definitely hope to return again. Bring your own extra firewood if you plan on having several fires. There's even a heated toilet seat..lol🤭🤷‍♀️

Owner very responsive I think the cabin was a bit misrepresented. No AC upstairs and access to upstairs bedrooms were challenging. Plus no AC upstairs. No dishwasher and kayak or canoe as presented. Water level was low so made access to river challenging - although certainly no fault of owners. I had a few questions to owner and her response time was very good. We had relaxing time - a beautiful place - just a few disappointments

The cabin is lovely. Everything is set up. Nice fire pit with firewood, stream right there for cooling off and then lJacuzzi for warming up right after the stream. We loved it. They even provided s'more ingredients! Nice touch. My only suggestion is that during Covid it would be nice to leave some more time between guests for safety. Maybe also wash blankets, not just sheets and towels.
