Glad to hear that you enjoyed our food, but sorry that the smoke odor was too pervasive for you. Our front desk is always available to handle a room change if necessary.

Nice hotel

Posted Apr 23, 2015
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Rate was reasonable too.
Location: Great location, just off I-80.
Staff at the check desk was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious with comfortable bedding. Location was just off I-80. We arrived late and ate in the cafe. Food was surprising tasting and service was good too. Also enjoyed myself on the slot machines with live entertainment. Will stop again at Red Lion.

Ok hotel

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Mind you I was looking for a nice hotel with lovely suites. When you think of a casino you think ok casino on bottom rooms above the casino. But that's not the case in Elko. My room was 3 doors away from casino . There was a door that separates the casino to get to your rooms. Now I'm a non smoker and I had been traveling from North Dakota trying to get back home to California with my 3yr old daughter. Our room was lovely don't get me wrong. But the smell of smoke from the casino was over powering. We had to change rooms that was furthest away from the casino. After that my stay was lovely. The staff was very helpful and very sweet. I would stay here again but not with my children.

Our apologies that you found the cigarette smoke in a casino to be offensive, but glad to hear that our staff was able to move you to a room farther away from the casino.

Non-smoking but still reeks of cigarettes

Posted Mar 25, 2015
We had a king size bed non-smoking room but it still stinked like cigarettes and it had no microwave or small fridge. For less of what we payed a night I would of stayed at motel 6 and had those amenities.

We have a tiered system of rooms and our bottom tier of rooms do not have microfridges. A room upgrade would make the addition of a microfridge possible. We apologize for the cigarette odor. Like most casinos, it remains a challenge to eliminate the odor. Again, my apologies to you.

Room was clean hotel clean. They gave us a room with the heater broken and we called for extra pillows that were never brought to us. Other then that it was fine

Thank you for posting a review of our hotel. My sincere apologies that our front desk did not follow through with the request for additional pillows. Also, I will investigate why the heat didn't function in your room. Rooms do not have individual units but are heated and cooled centrally. Again, my apologies to you.

Short Stay

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: Stairway access to rooms.
Cons: Their casino could have been "gentler" on me!
Location: Didn't really try to see anything though their tourist guide had lots of places listed and was very well done.
Good one night spot to stay. Back of hotel with excellent parking access. Second floor and could see my vehicle from the window.

Why the Smoke

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Perfect hotel for smokers.....not so much for non smokers like us. Cant walk to the coffee shot without coming out smelling like cigarette smoke. We were only staying overnight, so we dealt with it.

Probably o.k. if your a gambler who smokes.

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: The rooms were spacious, the staff was very friendly.
Cons: Hotel check in that does not require you to go into the casino.
Location: Umm... it's Elko. You can gamble, smoke and drink. It's just an overnight stop for us to break up our driving.
Overall it's a pretty nice hotel. While there is no smoking allowed in the rooms, the balcony off of our room was covered in cigarette butts. The rooms were spacious. Yes, we should have known that a hotel off a casino was going to be smelly. But, if you smoke or don't mind the smell of cigarette smoke then it would be a great choice for you.
