Fantastic hotel, great price, AC slightly lacking
Nearly everything about our stay was great. Front desk and all other staff was very helpful, restaurant food (though limited) for dinner was delicious, breakfast was great. Only complaint is that the AC was not cool enough. It was 42+ degrees C outdoors and the AC could not keep the rooms cool below about 26/27 degrees.

After a long transcontinental flight, upon checking in, in was told the room was not ready. FOUR hours later ( around 6 pm) the check in staff stated same. While one person said the room has not been cleaned, another stated they had computer issues, and yet another stated I had to pay for my already pre-paid room. Total and complete disorganization. No air conditioning in lobby and more importantly in dining areas made eating very uncomfortable. Would not recommend this property at all.

Efficient, friendly and professional check in w receptionist. Clean, quiet rooms. My room had a view of the Fez Medina. We extended our stay one more day, due to 5 of the 7 people in my party were not feeling well and we needed another day of rest. We enjoyed the pool each day. It was refreshing and clean. Two improvements that need to be made are: Don't have housekeeping come into any room that has the outside door tag stating no cleaning to be done in the room. Each morning, I was awakened 2 times by housekeeping entering my room and wanting to clean the room without knocking, even though I had the do not disturb tag on the outside of my door. The buffet breakfast needs to have more variety of fresh fruit and fresh food. By 10 am, the buffet offerings were sparse and not presented in a fresh manner. Otherwise, I would recommend a stay at this hotel and would return again.

Hotel staffs are very helpful and accommodative. Room is overall clean but needs some remodeling. Furnitures are old and have visible tears and wears. Water wasn’t working well. Bed is big and comfy.

I was disappointed by this Barcelo as I've stayed in a couple others and had a great experience. If you are a guest and want to park your car, the parking is not free (40 Dirham per night). I stayed at the Barcelo in Casablanca and parking was free - this is just an odd inconvenience to your guests. The shower was broken and spurt out water when it was on. The overall property is old and needs renovations. The last morning, my husband and I had breakfast at the property and went for a walk after. When we came back, one of the staff ran over to us yelling that we didn't pay the bill - literally as if we were thieves. I've stayed in hotels all my life, and they could have just charged it to our room - at least that was our expectation. The area outside is out of the hotels control but please note you will be harassed, bothered, and followed, by people and children asking for money. Next time I'm in Fes, I will pay more money but will stay somewhere such as Hotel Sahrai, for a peace of mind and cleanliness.

The hotel is new and in the center of the city. Close to everything. But I did not like the guest of the hotel paying $4 for parking. It is a small amount but should not charge guests who already paid for the room. I only spent the night so did not try the food or the bar .

The room was perfectly fine. After a lively stay at a Riad in Chefchaouen, the amenities and comfort of a western-style hotel were much appreciated! The buffet dinner at the restaurant downstairs was less-than-desirable. My partner insists that the parasites for which he is being treated now came from a meat stew that smelled and tasted horrible. I didn’t have the meat which could explain why I was spared. Other than the food, the room was perfect and comfortable. The area where the hotel is is somewhat uninspiring.

They don’t replace bed sheets.
We got a room with dirty bed sheets (still with smell of the previous guest’s perfume!), we ask 4 times to replace it. Everytime they said that it will be replaced but they didn’t!
