Very cheap hotel in a good area
You do, unfortunately, get what you pay for. This hotel is managed by an older couple who does not speak English very well at all. It made checking in and checking out very difficult. While the staff is very kind, the property itself is quite awful. The light in the room is a very unflattering fluorescent white. The windows don't close all the way, so mosquitoes did get in and it got quite chilly overnight. The bed is not comfortable and lined with a plastic wrap under the bed sheets, which feels odd. The room smelled of smoke. The towels were given during check in and they were torn up and tattered. The shampoo doubles as soap and was completely watered down. The building itself is not listed at the correct location on Google, so when navigating be extra careful to use the actual address, not by searching "Barbara House" on any map service. And most importantly, at this hotel, you cannot use regular European power converters, which work at many other Italian hotels!!! You MUST have the Italian converter for anything you want to plug in! This hotel is certainly not a five star hotel, no matter what Expedia says (I have no idea how it got that rating, must be an error). I would consider this a one star hotel (do they go lower?) by American standards. The price and location do, however, make this hotel a considerable option for Florence, despite all the criticism given because it is a very cheap stay in a very walkable area.

The old couple was very kind to us and attended to all our needs. Location is amazing.

Good location
Hotel is incredibly difficult to locate, no signage. The room was small, shabby and not like the pictures. We had our own bathroom, however the bathroom and shower were tiny and the shower curtain useless, so the whole bathroom was under water ever time you had a shower. Beware Mosquitos!

The shared bathroom was dirty and mouldy. We were prepared for basic since the price seemed reasonable for Florence, but there is a line.

Really did not like this hotel. Rundown, dirty, smokey (even though it was a smoke free room, there was smoking in the building.) The woman who owned it seemed sweet in helpful, but spoke little English. Definitely wish I had stayed somewhere else. Hostel would have been better.

Well positioned for City centre and station
Very noisy, had room to front of hotel. No double glazing. Hardly any English spoken. Room lacking in facilities, not a bit like photos on website, very tired. Shared both room dirty and mouldy.

Good location, but not the nicest
Liked the location (very close to Firenze SMN and attractions) but the rooms were a little dated and (shared) bathroom pretty gross. The shower was awful and wouldn't stay hot or cold. Also keep in mind the owners do not speak English at all, which is perfectly fine - although they did not get that we didn't speak Italian, so they just kept yelling the same things at us louder and louder. Kind of amusing, but we managed.

Perfect location
The location was perfect for seeing the sites and shopping at the markets. The room was a bit noisy at night but this is to be expected if staying in the heart of Florence. The room was spacious; however the shower was more often cold than hot. This problem may only have been related to our room though.

We found the hotel very easy. It is near a lot of stores. We had a supermarket and one euro stores too. The lady in charge of the place was very friendly.

The lady that runs the place is just the sweetest! We had AC which was a huge plus, we also got our own bathroom. I found toiletries from the previous guest so that was questionable but we had a good couple nights there.

The owner is very helpful and nice
It's a hotel with very reasonable price. Good location. The owner can't speak English but understand Eng. No problem in communication. She always tried her best to help us. She was very helpful. We are appreciated. Highly recommended if you are looking for the budget hotel.

Beware!
The guest house is run by an old couple. The organisation is a complete chaos, as the owners cannot/do not check their emails. It is horribly dirty. The bed linen were not changed after the previous occupants or not properly washed (full of hair). The ceiling light came of the ceiling. The towels in the bathroom had grey shades. It was the most disgusting place I ever stayed in.

Vergogna!
Accoglienza, servizi, pulizia e condizioni della struttura pessime! Proprietari scortesi e poco educati. Bagno in comune sporco all'arrivo e mai pulito per tre giorni. Pubblicizzato come B&B invece è un'affitta camere dove il rapporto qualità prezzo è decisamente inadeguato. Unica nota positiva la posizione centralissima a due passi dalla stazione e dal centro. Sconsigliatissimo!!!

イタリア語しか話さない老夫婦が管理しているようです。カギを3種類渡され、建物入り口と部屋の カギは正しいものだったが宿泊階の入り口のカギが正しくなく一瞬締め出された。管理人呼び出してカギを正しいものに替えてもらった。部屋のエアコンのコントローラーもきちんと作動するものに3回替えてもらわねばならなかった。言葉が通じないのにCity Tax支払いのみスムース。 Wifのパスワードはやたらと長いものが受付に貼り出されているだけでカメラで写して使った。

AWFUL EXPERIENCE
It was a really awful experience in here.The host they can’t speak English.In the beginning I was in the phone and asked about the location.But they said to me no English.And hang me on the phone.I can't believe it.And I called again.They just kept speaking Italian.And hang me on the phone again! It was not good.In the end I finally found the hotel by myself.Because I asked the restaurant staff.When I come inside the room.It was really really really dirty and disgusting.The bed sheet was terrible.I believe they never wash it.Also the bathroom was really dirty.And no elevator.So if you have the big luggage please think about it. And if you don't mind they can't speak English just booking.

Acceuil sympa mais pas de détail Pas d acceuil et responsable difficile à trouver . Domage de ne pas savoir que l on peut utiliser en commun une cuisine ( évite les restos) . Propreté mauvaise et état des lieux bricolé . Mais bien placé au centre de Florence .

호스트가 노부부인데 체크인할때 제 정보랑 다른 분 정보랑 착각하셔서 돈 더 내라고 난리난리도 아니었음. 지도상에 나와있는 위치랑도 달라서 물어물어갔음. 객실 굉장히 어둡고 열쇠가 정말 잘 안돌아감. 매우 비추.

Malo en general. La habitación estaba sucia, los resortes de los colchones te pinchaban la espalda, las toallas sumamente desgastadas. El baño pequeño, sucio y mal distribuido. Además nos cobraron más de lo que indicaba la página.

Muito bem localizada. Bom custo benefício pra quem quer ficar perto do centro e não gastar com táxi. Da pra fazer tudo a pé, inclusive a noite. Rua bem movimentada com restaurantes e pubs e ao lado do mercado que é muito legal. O ponto negativo é que a localizado está errada no site. Fica na mesma rua, mas em outro ponto de referência e não tem placa. E, a placa está com outro nome. Dependendo do quarto tem que carregar as malas. Ficamos no último andar e tivemos que carregar quatro lances de escada. Os senhorios são muito solícitos, mas não falam inglês. Só Italiano. O quarto era amplo e confortável. No geral foi bem legal a estadia.

Ottima posizione , struttura abbastanza orribile
Ho alloggiato con il mio ragazzo presso questa struttura 3 giorni , appena arrivati non trovavamo neanche l'alloggio, poi cercando bene al civico 20 c'era un campanello da suonare! A primo impatto é stato orribile, ci ha accolti la signora che ci ha accompagnato alla camera! Premetto, non c'è una hall n'è uno spazio di accoglienza, la signora esce da una stanza e vi accompagna nei piani superiori! L'alloggio é un vecchio appartamento che la signora ha riutilizzato come bed&brekfast! La camere é abbastanza grande ma l'ho trovata un po' sporca, polvere dappertutto! Per quanto riguarda il letto la biancheria mi sembrava pulita e ogni giorni i letti venivano rifatti! Nel complesso la camera andava anche bene, il bagno in comune però era orribile , piccolo sporco tenuto male! Sconsiglio questa struttura a una famiglia con bambini, io ho alloggiato per 3 giorni con il mio ragazzo ci siamo accontentati per quei giorni. Per quanto riguarda la posizione questa è perfetta, eravamo a 2 minuti a piedi dalla stazione e 2 minuti a piedi dal duomo di Firenze! Uno spettacolo da questo lato, é capitato di tornare anche in albergo durante il giorno perché la vicinanza al centro era comodissima! La zona é molto trafficata e tranquilla anche su tarda sera! La signora molta gentile , mi spiace perché la struttura potrebbe essere tenuta bene e diventare molto più ottimale rispetto ad adesso!
