Pleasantly surprisedPosted Apr 23, 2015
Pros: It pretty well matched the hype in the hotel's listing. I have no adverse comments to make about this hotel. Well worth a visit.
Cons: That bar needs to be open every day!!
Location: Avoid the local Pizza Hut - the food was terrible. We like Pizza Huts (in the UK) but this one has really put us off - hopefully not for too long.
I know that the clue is in the name but we were pleasantly surprised that we did actually get a suite - with a massive flat screen TV in both the bedroom and the lounge. There was a kitchenette with enough crockery and cutlery to meet our meagre needs - but also a fridge and a microwave. For some reason the hotel's bar only opens Monday to Thursday so a trip to the local Walmart and the beer in the fridge worked really well. We had a good, quiet night's sleep followed by a really good, buffet breakfast. The free wi-fi and the 6 hour time difference meant that I could get onto the BBC Radio 4 website and listen to the day's news via the Today programme. It doesn't take much to please me! Overall it was very good value for money.

Highly recommend staying here!Posted Mar 3, 2015
Location: Lots of restaurants, shopping, movies, etc. withing walking distance! Very well-placed hotel!!
Stayed here on 2/28-3/1/15 and was very impressed with everything except the smell in the room. Since these have kitchenettes in them, there was a residual smell from the last guest's cooking, very spicy and there was no circulation in the room when I first arrived. Everything else was excellent, very clean, well kept, good breakfast, nice staff, and overall I would stay here again and recommend to a friend. Thanks!

Nearly new and close to the interstate - nicePosted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: Nice breakfast area and buffet.
Cons: The first floor hall to our room was very long and far from the lobby which makes for a long walk to the front desk or to the car. I wish someone cou
Location: Close to the interstate but far enough away (about 1 mile) and near a nice shopping center. Many different low cost dining areas near the hotel.
Very nice room and facility - almost new and a very decent price.

Family visitPosted Jan 5, 2015 on Hotels.com
We were in Decatur visiting relatives and this hotel is where we usually stay. The suites are large enough for our family of 5, clean, have a large fridge in a full kitchen, and they provide a great breakfast in the lobby.

Christmas visit to hometownPosted Dec 27, 2014
Homewood Suites in Decatur Illinois has got to be the best hotel I've ever stayed in. I had a king studio and I could have just moved in and stayed forever. It was clean, very beautiful, and well laid out. The staff were gracious and friendly. I will stay in Homewood suites wherever I go from now on.

Best hotel in townPosted Dec 4, 2014
Nice comfortable hotel perfect for our small family. The room was very clean and spacious. While we didn't do much cooking, the room came with all the basic equipment. I really appreciated the full size fridge and double burner range. In addition to breakfast, the hotel offers complimentary dinners on weekdays and a sweet happy hour with beer and wine. Stay here!

Perfection AchievedPosted Dec 3, 2014
3rd time here...fabulous choice. Wish the evening desk staffer had been up to the job. Very indifferent and cold. The rest was ideal. Great value on an excellent property.

Overnight stayPosted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness; breakfast is good; nice rooms
Cons: Water pressure in bathroom sinks could be improved upon.
It was a brief stay, but very pleasant. The outdoor trees were all decorated for the holidays and it was a beautiful sight. There are lots of trees there that you don't realize until they all have lights on them.
