I found this property to be elegant yet cozy. I stayed here for one night before moving to a hotel down the street for a conference before all the craziness. I should have stayed an extra night but I will be back. The pool, beach and especially the pool bar were perfection. I arrived well before check in and was easily able to leave my bags with the front desk and start taking advantage of the property. The property is beautiful but the friendliness of the staff is what truly made it an enjoyable experience.

Service is good. We went in May on a Monday and they let us check in early 1pm and upgraded us to a king bed. The resort is private and the beach is quiet and peaceful. The staff is very accommodating and pools were clean and warm. Cons Food was below average and expensive Hotel is dated No dietary accommodation- gluten/dairy Not close to grocery stores/ main strip Rooms have rugs and beds are uncomfortable. Saw cockroaches Soda shack not optimal for early risers or night owls. Will find yourself hungry at night We used publix to order groceries which I highly recommend. Wouldn’t return and has nothing to do with the customer service. 3 out of 5. For the money, find yourself a more modern hotel closer to restaurant's and stores.

Pools are magnificent! Outdoor heated pools, water temperature is perfect. Expensive prices for food and drinks, however.

Staff was very accomodating---very nice adult pool with 9ft end and quiet. Rooms were dated but very nice as the hotel has much history to appreciate as well. Close to alot of areas to explore

Very nice resort on the ocean. Extremely well capped a staff was friendly and the room was well appointed great place to stay if you need a night or two before you go on a cruise cruise port is two minutes away.

Right on the beach- great for beach lounging and walking; Comfortable, large one bedroom suite; Nice to have an “adults only” pool in addition to a large family pool; Great food on site with convenient Soda shop in addition to restaurant; Friendly, polite and efficient employees- special thanks to Fern & Sonya in the Soda Shop, Monique in Acquario Restaurant, and Wilson at the Concierge desk. Quiet family resort- ideal for young families, and/or seniors.

Very nice family resort style property. The staff was very nice and always helpful. Great bartenders! Only comment I would have is to note that this is a family resort and there were a lot of kids. The big pool is the kids' pool. There is an adult only pool, but the bar is by the big pool, which is where all the kids are at. We went before school was out, during the week, after spring break and there were still a lot of kids. Great for families with kids, just want to make sure all the adult couples traveling without kids know what to expect.

The property was very easy to get around. Pool, beach and places to eat on the property is very easy. The connecting rooms was very helpful and plenty of amenities in the room. Loved our stay.

Excellent check in at counter we were able to check in roughly 2 hours before after a long drive. The resort is extremely old would of rather stay elsewhere, but if you are 40 you will feel at home many guest in your range. Pool was great for kids only thing no chairs/umbrellas available since its first come first serve. The WORST of our stay was the VALET, yes its Free but they dont like to work. The first older valet guy didnt even speak fluent english and the younger one always hiding when he see you walking toward entrance "they pretend they doing something or serving guest water" hilarious get to work your job is to move cars and make the process for the guest as convenient as possible. Gave up with them when he said to me "Want me to grab your car or you got it" (younger guy), the TIP of the day if you will like to EARN a TIP you have to make your guest feel comfortable and secure, not insecure!

Room wasn’t ready and we had to wait for it to be cleaned which was the only thing that was a negative. However the environment, professional staff, room accommodations made up for the one negative thing. A great great place to stay!

Second time back here at Lago Mar and they didn’t disappoint. Superb in every way - large room with plenty of space for four; clean and relaxing venue; heated pool and private beach. We particularly enjoyed the table football and hammocks! Even gave us a late checkout to fit with our evening flight. Would be difficult to find a better stay in Ft. Lauderdale. Will be back again.
