Like mamaw's, felt like home

We enjoyed our stay and everything as as advertised. The instructions for getting there could have been a bit more clear because there are two different Tract Mountain roads in the area and it's kind of easy to get lost. There is a short and a long way to get there from 220.

Sorry Robin about the road sign of Tract Mtn not far on the Hammer Run rd. This was always Brady Hollow rd and the 911 replaced this sign it is so wrong.I am trying to this this sign corrected. But yes the Tract Mtn rd where Grandmas house is 4 mile in and Grandma’s house sits on the corner of Tract Mtn and Reeds Creek road. You all were wonderful guests.

Great stay in West Virginia
We enjoyed our stay at Grandma's House for one night while on a family vacation through West Virginia. The home was clean and had everything we needed. We would recommend to anyone. The location is quiet and secluded on the owner's family farm. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, even leading us on a hike up the mountain to a family cemetery. Thank you! We had a great time.

Daniel and family were nice friendly people who we enjoyed meeting that evening and hiked with them up a steep hill where he was looking for a small cemetery where his GGG grandparents had been buried. So happy I was able to guide them to this gravesite.

Charming and just as described!
This was a charming and comfortable house! Even smelled like my grandmother’s house a little when I walked in - in a good way! Make sure to go outside and look at the stars if staying here. We were able to see the Milky Way due to the lack of light pollution.

Great place to get away
We absolutely loved our quick stay after picking kids up from camp. This was a great place to unwind and get some quiet family time in before jumping back into life. The area is beautiful and the house was charming with everything you could need. We look forward to coming back again to unplug!

Property was just an old farm house. I didnt exspect much but i will say there is 3 channels 2 of which were info commerical channels. I have been in many old farm houses with family living in them. This one is in need of repair i was in down stairs bed room and once my friend was in upstairs bedroom i am sure the bed was comming through the floor the floor was bowing. Also there was no water pressure one point in the evening and little water pressure the rest of the stay.

Lovely country home
Grandma's house is a lovely home in a beautiful location. The home is very well taken care of and is quite comfortable. This was my second stay here and I look forward to staying there again in the future. Property owner is always quick to respond to any questions and is always very helpful with her responses. Highly recommend!!!

Come for a place to sleep, stay for a truly unique experience.
While the description and reviews state that this place is authentic, I had absolutely no idea just how true that would be. The house is situated on a large piece of very rural land with amazing views and a very private experience. In the entire weekend I saw one car pass on the road. The property owner /manager was top notch in that we never met or interacted during our stay, yet was only a phone call away. This is the private experience I was looking for. It really was as if mammaw was out of town and asked us to watch the house for the weekend. Every detail was spot on as far as the theme is concerned. Right down to the alarm clocks, hand written notes to help you use the old house without breaking it. This was really a very special experience and I really did not expect it to be. I would only suggest that a fire pit of some sort would be the icing on the cake on a starry night.

We really enjoyed our one night stay. The house was super clean and reminded all of us at our childhood & grandma’s house visits. It was quite, very remote without cellphone service. Grate brake from the every day city busyness.

It was really like staying at Grandma’s house! Everything there was nostalgic. All the furniture, dishes, linens, and lamps looked like Grandma still lived there. It was so cute and inviting. Everyone connected to the property was so friendly and helpful. It is a great place to stay.

We enjoyed our visit. It was beautiful seeing the leaves change color. When we followed the GPS it didn't take us to the house so you might want to call before going. The owners are very nice and helpful.

I was very disappointed in the misleading pictures of the house.
The house was very neat and in a very quiet country setting. However, what the pictures fail to show you is that there is a big house no more than 75 yards overlooking the house. It is the home owners house. I booked the house expecting a private quiet setting and pulled in the drive to see that the house sits in the front yard of the owner. All of the pictures don't show the house and I feel this is very misleading.

Nicholas, very glad to hear that you found grandmas house very neat and in a very quiet country setting which it is. Really hate that is was a rainy weekend for you, but it was for everybody here in our area. The house that is above Grandmas house is my sisters house not mine, it is on the other side of the Tract, Mtn road and has a beautiful white vinyl fence around her house and does not sit in the yard of Grandmas house that you stated in your review. The Tract Mtn. Road is a public road that goes 3 miles to the top of Tract Mtn. that does dead end that actually offers great views just driving up to the top and coming back off the Mtn. Another good thing about having a house close is that at Grandmas house there is no cell service and no landline phone where vacationers may use her phone if they need to make a call without going 4 mile in either direction. My family is always ready to help any vacationer in any way we possibly can during their stay here at Grandmas house. Sorry it wasn,t what you expected but I have posted a picture showing the back view of Grandmas house with the beautiful view from the back porch and OH!! Yes I must not forget the lovely country front porch with the grazing field where deer love every evening and people love to sit on it and drink their coffee and enjoy talking with family and friends.

Great place to stay, Check driving directions
This is a very nice place to stay. It is country living at its finest. The place has just about every kitchen/household item you can think of or ever need on a trip. The folks running this have obviously put a lot of love and care into setting up this place. The only glitch in the whole HomeAway process is that the driving directions provided by the HomeAway app (and location shown on the map) are not correct. The coordinates for the house should be 38.7523 -79.3351. Try that in your GPS or in the HomeAway app and you will be on your way to a lovely vacation stay.

Great place to relax

Perfect place for a relaxing getaway!
I have to say, I love this place. My trip consisted of three brothers and their son’s looking for an R&R get away. This place was exactly what we were looking for. It was somewhat secluded, but easy to find. We had plenty of enjoyable activities from hiking, canoeing, site seeing and visiting the local flea markets, which were all short drive away. Having 4 bedroom and 1 full and 1 half baths, was plenty of room for what we needed. Having plenty of sheets and towels added to the comfort of our stay. The fully equipped kitchen was great for cooking anything. if you're missing anything, the market is a short drive away. The front balcony was perfect for enjoying your early morning coffee as you relax and take in the fresh country air. Not having cell signal was a blessing and added to the overall relaxing atmosphere, you can always go out 5 miles to get cell service. The grill and the picnic table gave us the opportunity to unwind and have a relaxing BBQ every evening. I can go on and on about how friendly everyone was, and how relaxing the atmosphere was. Needless to say, we will be coming back to Grandma’s house!
