This is a limited to no service hotel. Reception closed for check-in, which is a first for me. Miniscule shower. Poorly maintained. Antiquated. Noisy. Tiny desk with mismatched chair. Electrical outlets in the wrong places. This should be considered a one-star hotel and priced accordingly. I can offer only two positives about this hotel - hardwood floors and towel heater.

This is a nice hotel, close to train station. The furniture in rooms is not the most modern but it does the job. Staff is very friendly, breakfast had everything you need (except for fresh vegetables).

Lovely hotel in central but quiet location
A great stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a big room with a king sized bed and a couch. They provided us a baby bed for our little one. The location was perfect, very central and yet quiet. The restaurant was excellent too.

Overall clean room that fits a business traveler needs The bed is a bit too soft for my taste For super hot summer days take in attention the hotel as majority of hotels in town doesn’t have air conditioning

A modern and newly furbished hotel
Hotel Alpha has very modern facilities and is situated in a quiet area. It offers free parking and wifi for customers.

The hotel was reasonably close to the train station. The neighborhood getting to it was a little questionable. The room was VERY tight with 3 adults. Because it was so hot, we had to have a fan with the windows open. Too much outside noise most of the night. Did not eat breakfast as too expensive.

Very welcoming
Hotel Alpha was an awesome place to spend a night. I was returning to Fribourg after fifty years and needed some help finding my old haunts. The reception clerk couldn’t have been more congenial. She took it as a personal challenge to find what I was looking for. She helped us find a delicious restaurant for dinner and helped us to negotiate the old town’s funicular. My only lower star related to the construction happening in the neighborhood. The hotel was difficult to arrive at. Parking was a bit of a challenge below the house as they say, but doable. Breakfast wasn’t included and really was just ok. All in all a memorable stay.

A stylish and comfortable stay
Staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is stylish and in a quiet area very close to the station. The rooms are comfortable with lovely decor and I had no issues with any of the facilities.

Hotel Alpha is in an excellent location close to the train station and walking distance to the pedestrian streets which house many restaurants and shops. Rooms are comfortable and very quiet (great soundproofing!). Windows can be opened for fresh air and street noises if it's too quiet! In-room safe, normal bathroom amenities plus a heated towel rack (note: no washcloths, which is typical of many European hotels). Shower floor is incredibly slippery. TV reception is excellent as is choice of channels in a variety of languages. Reception staff is very helpful and friendly and the breakfast buffet is quite good. Parking is underground, safe, and convenient. Would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Fribourg, which is a lovely, historic town of many levels!

Excellent service, rooms a little bit small but clean, indoor parking very practical, needs some renovations but still OK, no air conditioning in the rooms witch can be very uncomfortable in a heat wave but there is a fan in the room and you can open the window. I’d recommend this hôtel for a short term stay( 1 or 2 nights ) because of the small size of the rooms.

Great Hotel
This hotel is in a great location, a five minute walk from the rail station and also to the centre of town. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff were more than happy to provide extras such as an iron and ironing board and a kettle for making tea. late check outs were possible and the staff will look after bags if you have a late stay. The staff are freindly polite and very helpful.

The receptionist was very nice and informative. When we got to our room the fan made a lot of noise. We contacted the housekeeper working on the floor who immediately found us another one. I wanted an xtra pillow and she got me one immediately. She was extremely nice and accommodating. We were only there for a couple of nights. We chose this hotel because it was conveniently located to the train station. The main problem I had with the room was that there was a big concrete pillar, at least 2 1/2 feet square, right in the room. Moving around the room was very difficult because you had to constantly maneuver around this pillar. Very strange. Since we were only there for two nights we put up with it. Would never except a room like that again.

A few days in Fribourg
This hotel is nicely situated in the city, near the train station and an easy walk to the old part of Fribourg. It is also close to the Villars chocolate factory and the university arboretum. The hotel is very comfortable and quiet, the staff are quite nice and helpful. I recommend staying there.

Surely recommend this hotel.
Only stayed for one afternoon and night. There are lots of nice things to do and see in Fribourg, we would love to have had more time to visit the city. Staff at the reception was very friendly, gave good tips what to visit. Room was very comfortable and neat. We had a great parking place underneath the hotel.

Man at the Checkin desk was very helpful and gave good directions. There was no air conditioning in the room which got very hot and stuffy. We ended up opening the windows but it could get quite noisy. Not many shops or restaurants in the area.

Nice hotel and great food!
Staffs were very courteous and friendly. We only get to spend 1 night but we would definitely want to come back for more in the future. Loved the water pressure in the shower!! My kids didn't want to leave. =)

Switzerland stay.
Front desk staff met us at the front entrance and guided us into the hotel and our vehicle was securely stored in the parking garage. The staff was more than accomodating and tended to our needs when addressed. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to my friends. Great breakfast as well.

We stayed 2 nights and needed somewhere near railway station. Hotel was fine except we would have liked to have air conditioning. There was none. Luckily it was not too hot. Breakfast was fine and hotel staff were helpful.

Hotel stuff was helpfull and could provides us what we needed, they even offered chargers for different mobile phones because outlets in switzerland might not accomodate all types of them. Breakfast was also good.we were mostyl traveling around so most important for us was the ability to sleep well.

This hotel is in a residential/industrial area of town, it was hard to even find the check-in counter. The girl at check-in was also waiting on customers in the restaurant at the same time. The room was clean, but there was a column right in the middle of the room, and it made the already small space even smaller. The hair dryer didn't work, in our friends' room the phone didn't work. They also had a room with the view of the dumpster below, and couldn't open the windows because of the smell. The hotel charged us a rate that was higher than the quote from hotels.com.
