"We spent six nights in the East Wing of the Chateau. The photos were accurate, but the house feels a bit worn. The town of Grandcourt has only a bar - no bakery or restaurant, and the closest grocery is about 5 KM away, so we had to drive for everything. I had hoped it would be a good base for WWI touring (and had even specifically inquired about that) but all the real WWI sites were at least a 1-2 hour drive away. The biggest problem we had were the stairs to the bedroom, and if you have to use the bathroom you will be using them to descend from the loft beds.
