Well located hotel in the heart of genevaPosted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: It's the staff . Quite superb from the guy greeting you on the door to housekeeping, bar restaurant and reception all very friendly and caring
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: Great shopping and a good walk on a Sunday
Haven't stayed here for over ten years so a little anxious to see how it was now. Still excellent rooms have been refurbished and are more functional than charming but for the price location and service there is nothing to fault

Elegant hotel with four-star staff close to all.Posted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: Service, friendliness, helpfulness, attitude. Heated towel bar, evening housekeeping, music in bar. Spa in basement. Wifi included.
Cons: Some of the furnishings could be refreshed. Music should be included, not an extra charge. Sometimes the housekeepers were audible in the hallway.
Location: Buy a watch. Buy several. Geneva is the world capital for watches. Take the free ferry boats (included with room charge). Telepherique (cable car).
I stayed three nights at Hotel Bristol in late October. It's a bit of a quiet time in Geneva, so easy to get a room. The hotel staff are very service oriented and very helpful. Nice live music in the bar in the later afternoon and evening. The location is perfect: right amongst all the four and five star hotels near the water. English and French: not a problem for either language, and they switch back-and-forth too! Parking is a bit of a struggle, as with all downtown European hotels. But staff will of course help with luggage, taxis, etc. I had the "classic" room which is a room with a real king sized bed, which was very comfortable. The room was clean, and housekeeping was good, except that as with all popular and busy hotels, the furnishings do show signs of wear fairly quickly. On the other hand, the heated towel bar was a nice touch of elegance, and also kept the bathroom warm which was great at shower time. Big TV in the room, but movies and music are at an extra charge, so bring your own. On the other hand, Internet connectivity was included in the price of the room, and was comfortably fast for a hotel. I had one room service breakfast, and compared to most U.S. hotels, it was very reasonably priced (and good!). I did not try the buffet breakfast downstairs. There is a small spa in the basement with a hot tub, steam room, sauna, and exercise room. Very nicely appointed. The Bristol asks a four-star price, but I think I got a four-star experience for it.

Parfait séjour dans cet hôtel,l'accueil y est chaleureux. Le service est de qualité. Etat de la chambre irréprochable. La salle de sport et le spa du sous-sol parfaitement entretenu. Très bonne impression générale, je le recommande.

Comfort and ServicePosted Oct 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
Absolutely frictionless experience on a business trip. The staff extended themselves when they did not have to, the rooms were comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The location is convenient. The overall feeling is classy without being over the top.

ConvenientPosted Oct 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Hotel Bristol was a rarely nice hotel centrally located on Rue du Mont Blanc. Walk out your door and down to the corner and you are at the lake front. Within easy walking distance to old town and great shopping

Needs renovationPosted Oct 5, 2014
First the positives: great staff, location, and gym. The negatives all relate to the hotel's need to renovate, seen in the furniture, carpets, mattresses, elevators, lobby, etc. A potential 4 or 5 star currently stuck at 2 or 3.
