Room was very comfortable and very clean. With no room temperature controls though the room temperature fluctuated during the evening - had to open the window. The front desk personnel were always ready and willing to help. Hotel is in a great location. I would stay there on any return trip to Geneva.

A good location hotel 5 minute walk ailway station
6th floor room we stay looked like nearly furnished but need staircase access from where the elevator reached on 5th floor. The gentleman who checked us in was providing excellent service showing us the other rooms as we requested. Other receptionists were average. Breakfast acceptable.

Great place for the price
Close to the waterfront, train station, and restaurants. Is not air conditioned, but room comes equipped with a fan. New renovations make the reception area bright and welcoming. Clean.

Small but perfect
Hotel reception is under renovation, but it doesn't affect anything. Room is spacious and very clean with a big bathroom and a cloakroom to put the suitcase and hang the clothes. Location is perfect, easy to access to everywhere. A big department store MANOR is just accros the road. Reception staff is friendly and helpful. Overall we have a present stay.

very good location and a nice comfortable hotel. Lack of air conditioning on a very hot day but not hotels fault as probably not usually needed. Some work was being done and it would have been nice if we had been informed before arrival by either the hotel or expedia.

The place was clean and the breakfast provided was good. However, it was a really small hotel room with a tiny twin bed and no windows that can open to provide relief from the heat.. This was problematic given the heatwave Geneva was experiencing.

Very clean & all staff very friendly & helpful -great to be able to leave luggage without a restricted time -absolutely great location My only reservation is not having tea/coffee facilities in the room as this really makes a difference -I would be prepared to pay a little more to have this facility

The location was good, but was a noisy district. Sounding proofing was poor so you could hear everything going on in other rooms and in the stairwells. This meant rooms were noisy. Only one towel in bathroom for two. Booking for my son was not found despite booking holiday together. Staff forgot to return my passport after check in and blamed me for it. No toothbrush or any toiletries in bathroom. Very very basic at best.

For the same price I would stay some where else .
Hotel well located , it was refurbished. They should put carpet et not the hard flooring. 6.30 in the morning you could hear the made or the guest pulling a trolley or luggages . Breakfast ok . Manager giving excuses to all my questions . No apologies! Hotel.com sais twin bed and it was a single bed ....The room was very hot , very hot . They advertise environmentality , so I said ok I will keep the same towels . I ask if there is a rebate or they would credit with giving some money to an association , the manager didn’t know what I was talking about . Old hotel that was rehabbed . Lacking good training on guest satisfaction They should paybattantion ..... My room is not worth more than 100 a night .

Nice hotel, close to the train station and not far from the lake. The hotel offers breakfast which I gladly took advantage of because everything nearby is high. Front desk very helpful and the hotel offers hotel guests with public transport passes. Wifi was spotty at first but once on, it worked fine. Would recommend and stay again.

I was so pleasantly surprised by Hotel Excelsior! I mainly decided to stay there because of its location (mine was a short stay): it was very close to the train station and easy to find. However, it turned out to be much more than just a solution to a problem. The room was immaculate. What a treat to find such a clean room to relax in after a hard day. If you are noise sensitive, I recommend staying on the courtyard side (costs a touch more) because there is traffic noise on the side with "city view". Within the hotel itself it was very quiet. Breakfast was more than adequate and nicely presented. Super easy walk to other parts of Geneva and to public transportation (for which the hotel gave a free pass). An excellent value. Only quirk was that there were not many electrical outlets (one near bed and one in bathroom). Still, I would happily stay there again if I need to be in Geneva.

The hotel is great for the price and has an individual charm. It's spotlessly clean, the room was very comfortable and the bathroom had a wonderfully powerful shower. The breakfast is plentiful and tasty (croissants, fresh bread, jam, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cold meat, cheese, a few hot items, juice, beverages...) The hotel is in a really good location; just round the corner from the train station and lots of useful bus routes and only a 5 minute walk to the lake and 'downtown' action. The staff were all extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable (they lent me a plug adaptor to charge my phone as mine wasn't working and offered us advice re local transport etc). There's no bar in the hotel (though there are several options within a 2 minute walk) and it lacks a few luxurious touches, but then the rate reflects that. It's a perfectly good base from which to explore Geneva and I doubt you'll find a better hotel for the price. Would recommend.

Close to Lake Geneva, maybe only 2-3 blocks and walking distance to Cornavin Center. Many shops also Post Office near by. Helpful staff, with free breakfast. I stayed on 6th floor with a patio outside it was lovely. It is an older Hotel with no A/C and July but we were gone all day sightseeing and nights were cool, so not a problem for me. I will return.

Basic accommodations with small rooms just a few blocks away from the train station and the Geneva waterfront - excellent location. Staff was courteous, rooms clean, etc. Free transit tickets were a nice touch. Breakfast, for an American, was very adequate.

Can't complain about much. Great staff, great location. One complaint. The wording on their laundry service is misleading and ended up costing 10x what a normal laundry clean should have cost. Spent 50ch on socks and tshirts. Could have bought brand new.

Said the air conditioning was not working for our room but it was working for the reception desk area. It was too hot in our room for a comfortable sleeping. Their answer was to open a window which did not have a screen on it.
