Private lakefront oasis close to wineries and Hammondsport

Beautiful up to date lake front home with all the amenities including Kayaks for your use. This is the place to stay for families ready to enjoy the lake or couples looking to get away for a wine tour weekend. Start with a coffee on the dock as you watch the sunrise light up the bluff, and finish the day with a cozy fire on the patio. Once you are down the stairs, enjoy one level living with just a few steps between the house, lake, the patio and the huge permanent dock.

Located just 3 miles North of Hammondsport on the West side of the lake. Enjoy lunch and dinner on the patio with the lake views, stroll through historic Hammondsport, take your boat to restaurants, or hit a food truck at the nearby brewery. The best wineries in the finger lakes are just up the hill.

Deep water dock is great for swimming with great fishing right off the dock. Shale beach to ease into the crystal clear Keuka Lake water. Front yard is a great grassy area for kids to play games, or to kick back and take in the gorgeous view.

The house has three bedrooms + extra separate bunkhouse. There is one bedroom with a queen, one bedroom with a king, a bedroom with a twin over full, and the separate bunkhouse with a full bed. Comfortably sleeps 8. One large bath with another half bath. Laundry on-site.

Always Amazing
This was our 3rd time staying here and as always we had an amazing time! The house is always so clean and the new owners have made some very nice upgrades including a new floating trampoline that the kids loved! We caught a ton of fish off the pier including several very nice smallies! Another relaxing week in paradise!

The best stay!
We spent just under two weeks at this property at the beginning of August and had the most wonderful time. The property is exactly as pictured and absolutely adorable. There were lots of extra goodies in the outside shed that made the experience even better for our kiddos (12, 9 and 6). The dock is great to jump off and swim. Our kids absolutely loved the water trampoline and lily pad and kayaks. So much to keep you busy all day. We enjoyed a fire pretty much every night and loved lounging on the outdoor couch for drinks in the afternoon. We also rented a boat while we were there which made the trip that much better. We took the boat to lunch several times and to meet friends that have a house on the lake. There are several great wineries and breweries within a short driving distance of the property that we also were able to check out and enjoy. We even went to a concert at Point of the Bluff while we were there. What a great venue with an amazing view. The property owners were easy to work with, and we couldn’t have asked for a better vacation!

Relaxing getaway with the family
We very much enjoyed our stay at Wake on the West. The home is well-appointed and very comfortable. Our kids (13 and 17) each brought a friend and had a wonderful time with all the lake toys and fishing off the dock. We rented a boat and tube from Keuka Boat Rentals for one of our days, which was both easy and convenient. Now that we know the lay of the lake we are happy we chose to rent closer to Hammondsport vs Penn Yan because everything is so close and convenient. We went into town each night to eat and were pleased with the selections. We plan to be back and to rent again at Wake on the West!

Second Time and Loved it Even More
Our 2nd stay at Wake on the West was even better than our first! Weather was perfect and the lake was very warm. We enjoyed lots of time swimming and floating off the dock, took a Keuka boat tour, and even visited some wineries. Location is great, we spend a lot of time analyzing other local rental possibilities but this place has everything you could ask for, minus the (necessary) steps down.

GREAT LAKEFRONT HOUSE
Just cannot thank Justin and Carrie enough. The house was lovely and absolutely perfect. The place was clean, bed comfortable, and everything was labeled perfectly and so organized. The windows and views of the lake were stunning from the house. The outside lawn area was beautiful and it was so nice to have deep water to fish off of. We caught some great fish and enjoyed many meals together on our weekend. We met Carrier on our way out-very kind lady. Thank you so much for everything-I will recommend to many folks.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The hosts were quick communicating and the house was pristine. Having a house right on the lake was amazing and it was near everything. They provide a variety amenities that make your stay comfortable and safe. I would highly recommend a stay here and can’t wait to go back again!

Great house on a beautiful lake
This house has a stunning view of the lake. We visited during the peak fall colors! The house was very clean, nicely decorated, beds were very comfortable. We had a great stay and I would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful escape
This property is bright, clean and cozy with lake views from every angle. We loved being minutes close to Hammondsport for local conveniences. The decor and interior design is calming and feels like vacation. The large dock was great for our boat and the mini shale beach was perfect to launch kayaks, paddle boards and for our toddlers to wade in the water. The owners were extremely responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing.
I had an amazing experience. This is the first lake I’ve ever been too! I truly didn’t want to leave! What a cute house with all the stuff to make a lake trip amazing. I was able to kayak for the first time(although I’m still iffy). Everything was so clean and neat and well done. 1000% happy.

Beautiful Keuka Lakeside Stay!
My family had an amazing stay at this tranquil Keuka lakeside house during the Summer of 2022. We spent every day on the lake, relaxing on the dock with a morning coffee or evening glass of wine, lounging on the hammock, or using the numerous extras that come with the house (e.g. inflatable floats, Lilly pad, and kayaks). You really can’t beat its location on the lake with convenience to nearby wineries, breweries, and Hammondsport. We slept very comfortably with two adults, one three year old, and one three month old. We didn’t end up using the guest house but could have slept another 3-4 people easily if needed among the house’s rooms. The house comes equipped with pretty much anything you’d need to cook or grill for the week. The current owners have also made a number of recent updates to the furniture that weren’t reflected in the property’s older photographs when we had originally booked. Everything is now nicely updated, modern, and comfortable. Would 100% stay again!

Relaxing getaway spot
The set up is perfect for a family or couple, our extended family had a great time. The outdoor courtyard and dock feels secluded even though neighbors are close (its the lake after all) - lovely set up. This house has a charming decor and everything was sparkling clean. The owners put a lot of thought into the set up and all the things you need - plenty of plates, glasses, water gear, all easy to find and use. Lots of room for 2 couples, my elderly mom, and 2 teens. Hammondsport is a cute little town for ice cream or restaurants and their grocery store was surprisingly well-stocked for a couple of things we forgot. Did a tour of craft breweries around the lake over 3 days - gorgeous views and nice friendly places. Did I mention the house was super clean and the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful! Would absolutely stay here again.

Lake Life
Once you descend the stairs, everything about the property focuses on the lake. The views from the house are prefect and we noticed we were lucky to have the shale beach for our use as many surrounding properties do not have a place to walk in to the lake. The dock was where we spent most of our time enjoying some of the included water accessories like the lily pad and inflatable pool, and the sprawling ranch-like layout was perfect for the 3 families that made up our guest list. The owner was very responsive throughout the entire process. We are already looking forward to our next stay!

Beautiful view and easy access to water
We loved the view even from inside the house. The house was close to Finger Lakes attractions and was comfortable for our family of 4. The 3 flights of stairs were a little rough with luggage but the view was worth it. We loved the kayaks and scenery.

Beautiful view of the lake!
The house and property are perfect for a small group to enjoy the lake and surrounding area. The view of the lake is breathtaking when the sun rises over the lake. The house has everything you need to enjoy your time on the lake! The owner is attentive to the needs of the guests and reachable if needed. Lovely Property
We had a wonderful time during our short stay. We swam and enjoyed the lake front property. The property was close to restaurants and everything we needed. We found plenty to do in the surrounding area. The layout of the home was perfect for us. It allowed everyone to have their own space with a great kitchen and family room to gather in. We can't wait to go back! The owner was very responsive and extremely easy to work with.

Chris’s place was perfect for 4 adult women. It was spacious, clean and had such a picturesque view. Chris provided a thorough email prior to our arrival with instructions and information about his place and his contact info which we really appreciated. It was tough to leave and get back to reality. Nice property. Close boat ride to Hammondsport
This is a nice property. Short boat ride (or car ride) to cute town of Hammondsport. Fun to boat down to dinner or just walk around. Property is as described in pictures aside from living room which has some updated nice furniture. House was comfortable and owner was very nice. We brought our own boat. We launched from Jake’s Livery up the road. Renters do not have access to the house boat lift but the boat was fine on the dock for the week. I think the only thing I would suggest is some kind of topper for the king bed as the mattress seemed newer but was a basic mattress without much padding and was not comfortable. I’d also worn that the pictures don’t show the access to the house is via a set of steep stairs (this was not a problem for us but could be for some others). Regardless, overall we enjoyed this rental, it’s location and communication with the owner.

Perfect stay for 3 generations
Property had everything that we needed to stay the week with my parents, siblings, and our kids. Lots of inside toys for the kids (legos, books, blocks, cars) to go with the outside inclusions (floats, fishing poles, lots of chairs). Kids (and adults) really enjoyed the "island" in the lake. All of the kitchen needs above and beyond the basics - even the little things like lots of coffee filters. Owners also quickly offered to pay for mailing our 5yr old nieces purse that was left on the back of the door. The one thing we did not realize from the property description was that the pool house is a flight of exterior stairs above the rest of the house. That being said, one of the best properties that we have stayed at in the Finger Lakes and we would stay here again.

The description of the property fit our needs perfectly. The separate bunkhouse was a perfect spot for our bachelor son. The 3 granddaughters loved the bunk beds. The 2 main bedrooms worked well for the couples. We all enjoyed the swim float and kayaks. Highly recommend this vacation home.

Perfect!!
This house was perfect for our family of 4(girls 10,12). The lake is literally 15 steps from the door, so sitting out every morning with a gorgeous lake view was such a treat. We were able to bring our boat, jump off the dock, fish from the dock (everyone caught something) and use their kayaks. The house is tastefully decorated and the photos are spot on. The little town of Hammondsport(5 min) was great for browsing in stores and to get ice cream in. The owner was very easy to communicate with.
