View is very nice
The studio was as advertised, but the kitchen area is not as well equipped as I would of liked. Be sure to bring coffee and basics with you there is nothing supplied. The gym was not bad but there is a 5$ charge to get access however that covered the entire stay so I wasn't upset. Most of the staff was friendly and the location was great.

Great stay at a good price
Elevator takes a while and room had a little too much decor going on, but everything else was great. We had a lovely view out our lanai, everything we needed in our room, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Emails to the owner of the unit were replied to promptly and they were very helpful.

Modest studio in Waikiki
We found this unit to be clean and in good condition. It has a kitchenette with fridge, sink, two-burner stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and adequate cookware, plates. glasses, utensils and tableware. The apartment is small, but has a twin bed and a double bed. The latter is against a wall on one side, which may be awkward for some. There is also a couch, coffee table, larger table, and additional chairs. The unit has a small balcony with its own chairs and a view of the canal. We found overnight on-street parking very hard to come by, so we paid the daily rate ($35) for the Island Colony Garage. Our one negative is that we found the A/C unit to be noisy. Overall, the unit was "as advertised," convenient to shopping and restaurants in the central portion of Waikiki, and suited our purposes very well.

Perfect for two
My family and I have stayed at Island Colony for decades. We already knew the location was great and that the amenities of the building are great. All that was left was to find a room. This room is on the lower floors and faces away from Diamondhead so the view isn’t great but you still have a view of the canal and across to the mountains. Lanai is a great size. Room is nicely equipped. Many places in Island colony are great if you don’t get nitpicky, and this is no different. If you’re expecting 5 star everything you’ll likely be disappointed. But if your looking for a pretty nice place, a kitchen that’s well equipped, a bathroom that, while a little small, is still more than functional, and location only 2.5 blocks to the best part of Waikiki Beach, this place will treat you well. We would not have a problem staying here again.

the place was in a great location to everything. you could walk to the beach within 10 minutes. very clean and easy to check in. there were plenty kitchen utensils and plenty of extra sheets and towels. would totally stay here again
