It was good until the end. :/
It was a beautiful condo. Excellent condition. However on the day of our departure we called numerous numbers listed to get a late checkout, as stated in our paperwork, and no one picked up/called us back. Then a random guy tried to get in and was surprised to see us there. He asked if we were staying another night and we told him no, and that we tried calling numerous numbers to get a late check out and no one answered. Then he proceeded to tell us if we stayed they would charge us another night. And that we would have to leave. It would have been nice to have a little communication and little more friendliness. Especially after how much we paid to stay there.

Just OK.
The condition of the unit was marginal. The fawcett in the kitchen was loose and wobbled on every use. The one in the Queen BR bath dispensed only hot water- no cold at all. Otherwise the unit was comfortable. When the lobby closed at 5:00 PM there appeared to be only one escape route in the case of fire and it was at the opposite end of the complex. Fire escape paths were not posted or obvious.

This is our second year, and my second review (see August 2018). We were given a different condo this time--one of the relative few with air conditioning, which was a nice extra. The summers in Park City/Deer Valley don't really get much higher than room temperature anyway. This unit was equally nice as the last one. The staff were helpful and communicated well. We were again very pleased with the spacious unit (2 bedrooms/3 full baths), the cleanliness, and the views. It only takes about 10 minutes to Park City's Main Street, but this place has a peaceful "get away from the crowds" feel. Keep in mind that we're here in the off-season, but even then there are plenty of activities and places to explore. There is no shuttle service, but there is a city bus that comes right by the front. I'd recommend having a car for your best mobility.

Dirty Bra and dirty sheets.
There were dirty Bra's and hair in the sheets. Disgusting. We tried calling the front desk and no one would help us. We called both nights and couldn't get the issue resolved. Then, when we checked out, we discussed the issue with them again and they just said, "sorry".

Everything was fantastic about the lodge! The only reason I wouldn’t give the highest rating is the lack of on-site service. We had to make a few calls to the remote proposer management, and it would have been better if the front desk were staffed. Apparently it is several months of the year.

A great place to stay!
We booked this place for our honeymoon. It was awesome. Everything was spotless and beautifully decorated. We had our own private hot tub on our deck. The kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need to cook any meal. We had a fireplace but couldn't get the gas to come on, had it been a big enough deal for us to have it on, maintenance would have helped us. I didn't care for the placement of the tv in the living room, it was to the very right of the fireplace which made it hard to see if you weren't sitting directly in front of it. Not a huge deal as we didn't spend a whole lot of time watching tv. Overall it was a great place to stay and only minutes away from Main St.

Disappointing stays
After having traveled to over three continents, and having stayed at various motels, hotels, lodges, resorts, and vacation homes, I have to say that staying at the Black Bear Lodge in Park City has been my worst experience thus far. Air conditioning is not available, and during my Labor Day weekend stay, we had to leave windows open. The problem arises from the lack of an overnight staff, as the lobby closes at 5 PM. This lack of supervision resulted quiet hours (which purportedly begin at 10 PM) being violated every single night by inebriated vacationers. Our next-door neighbors would stay up all night and blast their radio in early in morning. Shortly after breakfast on the first morning of our stay, I went to discuss our concerns with the staff. The person at the desk indicated that I would receive a call from the person in charge that weekend (manager). I also asked if they could have someone go over to enforce quite hours. I was promptly tall to simply "call the cops" on people that were "being loud." Such exhortation for someone vacationing is unacceptable and places the burden on the customers. Of course, I also never received a call from the off-site manager. I was simply ignored. I also asked if I could be moved to another room, where perhaps it would be off the busy walkways at night, but I was told that the lodge was fully booked. Of course, simply going to the parking lot would confirm the fact that this was not true.

We really enjoyed the spacious condo with two bedrooms and three bathrooms. Communication was excellent--I was contacted by Wyndham reps both by phone and by email, and since we were arriving after 5 PM, were given instructions on how to access the underground parking and the property itself. Everything was done using keyed-in codes on the doors, so no keys to lose or forget. We were very impressed with the condo itself. It had 135 Mb/s Wi-Fi Internet access, and Comcast cable TV in the living room and both bedrooms. There was also a nice selection of DVD's and books. The kitchen was very clean, with modern appliances and utensils ready for use. There is no air conditioning, but our condo had four big box fans in the bedroom closets. We really didn't need them, though. We just opened the patio door and some windows, and enjoyed the fresh mountain air. I think the Wyndham staff has done a very good job of taking feedback from guests, and trying to anticipate as much as they can. After reading some of the other more negative reviews, I have to say that we went in with our eyes wide open and were still very pleasantly surprised with the property and the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. By the way, for those who might not be familiar with the area, the Stein Eriksen Lodge is just across the street, via a series of stairs. The Stein's Sunday brunch is not to be missed, but make reservations the day before. We'll be coming back to the Black Bear again!

This is a great place to stay if you want extra room for a family. Only complaint is in July it is a little uncomfortable without air conditioning. But great bedrooms and kitchen and living room. Even had games to play and dvds to watch.

The condo was nicely furnished and decorated. It was clean and the kitchenette was well equipped but not stocked with staples so bring them. You might want to bring toiletries if you're staying for more than a night as they are sparsely appointed. There is no air conditioning and though they provided fans, it was warm in the unit (we were there in July). If you're planning on using the private hot tub make sure you make arrangements to have it activated before you go as they are closed during the summer months! Each unit only has one designated parking spot and the guest spots are first come first serve. I booked this place specifically because it had a private hot tub. No where on Expedia did it indicate that the private hot tubs were closed during the summer. Further, it was never indicated that the rooms were not air conditioned or that there was only one parking spot! To their credit, the Black Bear lodge did reach out by phone to let us know about the hot tubs and air conditioning but my reservation could not be cancelled or changed. We were awakened by the Park City Police banging on doors at 6:30 a.m. on our last morning. The building was evacuated due to a gas leak. We were escorted by the fire department several hours later to retrieve our things so we could leave. There was no communication from Black Bear at any point during the evacuation and we had to keep calling the office to check on the status.

Great facility, location not as great.
The property was great. Large rooms, comfortable beds/couches. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice jetted tubs in each bedroom. Pool and hottub were clean. It is a little ways from Park City, but not terrible. And for whatever reason, the hot tub in the room is only available 3 months out of the year (it was locked shut during out stay). It's a little strange that there is no air conditioning, but the provided fans in the windows kept things sufficiently cool. Although I didn't like the security aspect of having the bedroom windows open since they open to the property walkways that are open to the street (Elizabeth Smart happened in Utah).
