This person never was on the property. They booked it without a credit card. When I called them about payment he acted angry and said he had moved on. He never showed up and never paid never stayed and he leaves this review without details just trying to damage our ratings. Sad such hateful people that try and damage others with lies. I guess we are in the new world of lies are real and OK.

Howdy Terry thank you for booking and staying with us. I am sorry it wasn't clear about breakfast. Maybe others that see this review will understand we don't cook anything. We have a fully equipped kitchen with basic spices, butter, fresh eggs from our chickens, figs, blackberries, beans, tomatoes, peppers, herbs, pears and much more to enjoy from our food forest. Folks can cook, breakfast, lunch and dinner and nosh in our food forest. We are an agri/eco business and want folks to enjoy. Again, thank you for staying with us.

Howdy and Good day John:Thank you for staying with us. As, a small local Veteran owned and operated business, we are always grateful for your patronage and support. I am sorry our breakfast of instant oatmeal, fruits, coffee, tea and fresh daily chicken eggs didn't meet your expectations. We have a fully equipped House and garden kitchen with all spices, butter oils, including pie pans, muffin tins etc. This kitchen is available for all guest use as long as you clean up and leave it the way you found it. You can prepare three meals a day plus snacks. We have a seasonal food forest of figs, grapes, pears, pecans, assorted veggies and herbs to use in our gardens. Our military families that visit their loved ones on base or returning from combat zones, love it. Instead of going to a restaurant with their soldier, they can make their favorite meal and serve it to them. We have had in the past during the surge deployments several different guests that are visiting their soldier and they collaborate to create a feast for those coming back from the call to protect our freedoms. Thank you again for staying with us. Thank you for the comment because now I was able to clarify what we do and hopefully others will read this and understand our breakfast lite with a home and garden style kitchen with 4 ovens and everything else that you need to easily prepare good food. Our folks that come to the area for fishing love our outdoor BBQ and kitchen to prepare their fresh catch of the day.

We apologize you didn't read our check in instructions when you booked with us. Our policy and detail in our information states we do not have a staffed front desk and is very clear. We are a small, local, veteran owned and operated Inn for 10 years. I called and left a detailed message about 36 hours before your checkin to assure smooth arrival or arrive between 3 and 5 pm, also tried to verify the CC info to see if you were real and it was not accepted after a couple of attempts. I called Expedia partners to discuss and asked them to also try to contact you and no response from you to them. You show up at nearly 8PM and demand entry, we considered you no show. I told you the situation and especially with unacceptable credit info and you said " oh I guess I should have used another. " I said yes find another place to stay as you were flippant and didn't seem to care. Also there is no way you could see into our facility from the outside. Sorry we want quality respectful guests. Our womderdul guests make us the best around.

All constructed by Norman Taylor which he started in 1949 when he married Pansy. Their roots in North Carolina and Swansboro and coastal area here go back well over 100 years. Thank you for your kind words. Apologies for any misunderstanding, about breakfast. There is no where that we state we make breakfast. We have various flavors of Quaker Oats, Instant Grits, Coffee several choices including expresso and makers, We have coffee grinders if you bring your own beans. Breakfast Teas, Honey, Sugar, Splenda and many condiments, maple syrup, butter and all the equipment, oils and spices to create any meal while you are here you cook you supply the perishables. You can prepare, breakfast, lunch dinner or snacks. We have all you need. We also stock microwave popcorn. During the fresh growing season we provide local grown fruits. We also have BBQ grills and provide charcoal foil etc and we will set it up for you on request. As far as the busy highway most accommodations are set off highways and the 3 miles is about 5 minute travel time to local home grown restaurants and food stores in the great little southern outer banks boro of Swansboro. Swansboro, has great local owned eateries and shops all good to excellent. The busy highway is also the same highway that takes you to the beaches and Camp Lejeune Marine Corp base within about 10 minutes. Between us and the busy highway is about 200' of gardens and lawn with nearly century old flora and 10' high azaleas and soaring 80' pine trees. Winter and especially after this last hurricane that we took a direct hit from is not the most scenic time to be here but by spring WOW! Thank you again for you kind review and attestation you would stay again. You provided an opportunity to explain more fully about our historic "Veteran Owned & Operated" Inn.

Thank you Carolyn, it was great to meet you and have you stay with us. Believe it or not we were full house and sold out during your stay. We just get great people like you that stay with us and the private guest suites distributed in different wings of the historic house. Of course as always we meet everyone that stays with us and make certain they are compatible, as far as understanding the main policy of the property is at all times respect other guests and the property. We have been doing this for 9 years and have been so fortunate to get such wonderful folks all respectful wonderful people.

First of all, you booked the White House a Historic renovated beautiful home with 6 guest suites well set apart for privacy with their own private baths and their own keyed door entry. You didn't want to stay there so we moved you up and upgraded you to the Presidential Suite in the annex with King Size bed studio size guest suite double the size of any hotel room in the area.with all the furniture hand made in NC. Yes there are common areas like any hotel except ours our better than any. The fact you didn't like sharing a large House Beautiful Kitchen with on other guest that may have been in the west wing of the house is amazing. I even told you that I would not book anyone in that suite to make your stay perfect so you had a 2300 sqft house for 1/4 what we get to rent the entire place for seasonal rental. The RV I told you was a Geo Bachelor Marine Officer staying on our 23 acre property with generational gardens. Spring is the full bloom with the 100s of Azaleas, dogwoods and all the beauty of this coast are photographed the most. We wouldn't want you to come back so glad you will not be. Oh, you don't understand common courtesy either.
