Good location for Blue Mosque area.Posted Nov 14, 2014
Convenient base for tourists. Lovely breakfast room on top floor with views while eating. Noise from party using breakfast room during evenings until midnight. Maybe we were just unlucky. Breakfast fine - help yourself...

See the Blue Mosque from your bed!Posted Nov 4, 2014
We stayed in the Spectra Hotel for a week at the end of October 2014. The hotel has a fantastic location at the corner of the Hippodrome and our room had a beautiful of the pillars and the blue mosque. There is also a rooftop room overlooking the city where breakfast is served with an even better view over the Sultanahmet and down to the Bosphorus.and the Golden Horn. You can help yourself to a mint tea in this room to relax after sightseeing. The staff were first class. Kasim helped my wife replace a broken padlock, taking the trouble to walk with her to the nearest hardware shop. Omar helped sort out our one day trip to the Princes Islands. And last but not least Doktor was our very amusing waiter in the restaurant. On our first night we decided to eat in the ground floor restaurant and the food and wine were delicious. The restaurant is popular with guests in other accommodation round about and they assured us the Spectra served the best evening meals in the district, so we ate there nearly every night. We would definitely stay in the Spectra again and recommend it highly.

Great Hotel, great location, great staff.Posted Oct 20, 2014
We arrived after leaving another hotel for not being what we expected it to be, and found Hotel Spectra amazing. The staff were fantastic and very helpful, the breakfast was good, and the location is great for access to Sultanahmet area. I would definitely stay here again, and will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Location locationPosted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Location in the heart of historic sites
Location: 1 minute walk to Blue Mosque, few minutes more to Hagia Sophia. Lots of restaurants within walking distance
Excellent location very close to Blue Mosque so be prepared for early call to prayers. Wonderful views from roof top restaurant. Recently and very nicely refurbished. Staff very friendly and helpful would particularly like to thank Omur for all his help and guidance during our stay. Highly recommended.

Location of the hotel is great.Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: Everything about this hotel was great or acceptable other than noise. Bring earplugs.
Cons: Noise level.
Location: Everything is within walking distance. The location made the hard/thin mattress and noise level mostly worth it.
The location of this hotel couldn't have been better, the facilities are nice, but the mattress was thin and uncomfortable and the noise level (at least on the 1st floor- US 2nd floor) was very noisy.

Overlooks the Blue MosquePosted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: The location is great, breakfast is included and served on a rooftop terrace
Location: Restaurants, trams, tourist attractions of old Istanbul
The hotel is ideally situated within a short walk of the Blue Mosque and the Haggia Sophia. It is also an easy walk to the Grand bazaar. There are many lovely restaurants in the area. The tram is also nearby which gives access to the spice market. The people are lovely and very helpful. The traffic is a bit wild but one learns quickly to watch out for buses, cars, scooters etc. The Blue Mosque is stunningly beautiful inside and is used regularly each day for prayer. During that time it is closed to tourists. We wished we had time to see more of the sights and sounds of Istanbul.

Good location but disappointing managmentPosted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Location and fresh food at breakfast.
Cons: More professionalism and honesty from the management.
Location: Location is great, almost everything to be seen in Istanbul is at walking distance.
We booked a family suite for 7 nights for two adults and two children. We paid fully in advance and received a confirmation that our room was available.Unfortunately, upon arrival no family suite was available and we were given a double room with three single beds with no possibilities to add an extra bed so one of us did not have a bed. We complained about it as we booked and paid fully in advance. After a telephonic discussion with the Boss the man at the reception told us that we will be moved to the family suite in three days and that the hotel will offer us two meals and the taxi to the airport. We accepted as we had not enough cash to book another hotel even though the room we were obliged to stay for three days ( half of the duration of our stay) was cheaper than the one we paid for and the price of the meals they offered was well below the money the hotel saved by making us stayed in the smaller room for three days. We spent three nights uncomfortable and eventually we were moved to the room we paid for and we were ready to forget about our misadventure but unfortunately the management and the boss were awful they made us feel uncomfortable. We were told that they should not have given us anything as a compensation they would not acknowledge their responsibilities and at the end they didn’t offer us the taxi to the airport as they promised. Therefore even though the location was great and the food was fresh. The management of this hotel really let us down.

Great location, within walking distance to many tourist destinations. Breakfast was enough to get the family started in the morning, with a variety of food options.
