Kailua Stay
We recently spent a month in lovely Kailua at this house. Kailua is a pretty beach town with no resorts or high-rises, and has a very casual vibe, while having all the conveniences of home. The beach is gorgeous and maybe two miles long, so it’s ideal for walking. Kailua is on the windward side of Oahu, so the weather is more changeable than some other areas, although it doesn’t seem to generally rain for more that three minutes. This is a great location for Oahu exploring, with easy access to all areas and most places not more than 40 minutes drive. This house is in a nice neighbourhood and the neighbours all seem quite friendly, and it is just about a five minute walk to the beautiful beach. The house is spacious, and is quite perfect for two couples or a family of six, as we were. The pool is lovely, and we were looking forward to a month of pool lounging, however it isn’t quite warm enough for that and the heater wasn’t working while we were there. It’s very refreshing for a quick swim, but not warm enough to hang around in there, so that was a big disappointment for our family. We also found we could have used more dishes and flatware, but we managed and bought a few extras. Overall this was quite a good rental, and it wouldn’t take too much to make it really great. We enjoyed it and would return.

We were sorry we were unable to fix the pool heater while these guest were visiting. It broke right at New Year's, and unfortunately the only 2 techs on the island that could fix it were both leaving for visits to the mainland! We did get it fixed and it is all good again now, but sadly it was out of our control to repair it in time for these guests to take advantage of it. I always I ask people to let me know if there is anything they need that is not provided, so I can get it while they are there, so it's a bit disconcerting when I don't find out until after departure. I am happy to provide any additional items needed, so please let me know!

Worth every penny!!!
We just completed a months stay. From beginning to end Richard and Amanda were awesome and accommodating! The property is beautiful. The decor fit the island vibe with an all white motif, lots of windows to let the sunshine in and easy access to the pool from the master suite or the living room. The location was fabulous, walking distance to the beach, a mile or two to downtown shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Honolulu, Waikiki and other tourists attractions less than 30 minutes away. Overall pool, beach, beauty, privacy, and easy access to the rest of the island while avoiding the congestion of the city and enjoying the quiet of a local neighborhood. I just can’t say enough good about this property. Definitely recommend without reservation.you won’t be disappointed.

Hawaiian oasis.
Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, this home has everything you could need. Super clean, a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, WiFi, swimming pool, and all the beach toys you could ask for. A short walk takes you to a wonderful walking and swimming beach. We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent Home base when staying on Oahu
This well appointed home in Kailua is an excellent home base when staying on Oahu. Our extended family visited and had plenty of space to come together for family time and to retreat to our own spaces as needed. The beds were all very comfortable, the bathrooms had ample counter space and the walk in showers were lovely. There were also multiple options for work/learn from home spaces. The house comes outfitted with all the necessary kitchen amenities as well as beach chairs, a beach wagon, umbrellas, a cooler etc. The pool, patio and backyard are lovely and provide options for outdoor dining/work/relaxation. If we visit Oahu again I will be sure to check if this property is available again!

Great location, great pool
The property was just as described and in a quiet, convenient location within walking distance to a very nice, uncrowded beach. My family enjoyed the private pool the best and somehow it always remained very clean. The house basically had everything that we needed for our stay including beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas. All of the TVs didn't work which the owner tried to come over and fix but it wasn't a big deal since we weren't there to watch TV. The only other complaint is that the dishwasher is very small but everything else in the kitchen worked great. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect home in Hawaii
House and pool are just as beautiful as the pictures. There were beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards to use and a handy wagon to pull it all to the beach. The beach is a very short easy walk and the views there are stunning. We are sad to be leaving our lovely Kailua beach house!

Most memorable experience!
This property is not only visually pleasing, but has a very practical floor plan that met all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. The property is within walking distance from the beach, but also has a beautiful sparkling pool to relax in. We found the property spacious and well-appointed with everything we needed for a very memorable family vacation. Our host was exceptionally gracious and accommodating. The entire family was highly impressed, but sad when it was time to vacate. We’d love to come back to this property on a future visit.

Recently stayed and enjoyed the property. Our kids loved the pool and walking distance to the beach. Kailua was a great town to stay in as it felt more local vs touristy Waikiki. The location was ideal for trips into Kailua town but also for access to Hiking, golf and beaches. Recommend the property and Amanda was quick to respond to anything we needed. Plus checkout was super easy.

Nice location, but ants and roach problem.
I really wanted to give this place a higher star rating because we had a good experience with the host, Amanda, but we had ants and roach problems during our stay. Amanda was responsive and the location was great; a walking distance to a nice beach. The big down side for me was when we checked in, the place already had lots of ants in it. I had to spend the first few days after checking in trying to get rid of the ants and roaches, which was definitely not ideal since it’s more expensive than a hotel. There were lots of baits around the kitchen and rooms (I found about 10 or so overall), so the ants were coming in for the baits. After placing the baits outside, it was better, but they were still lingering a bit. I also found about 3 geckos and a few roaches. I don’t mind the geckos since it’s Hawaii and all, but I have kids, so the roaches and ants bothered me and the the kids.

We try our best to keep this house spotlessly clean so that it will be bug free. However, in spite of our best efforts, a bug or two may occasionally find find their way in. Unfortunately, due to the tropical climate in Hawaii, with no cold winters to kill bugs, there are roaches and ants here--they come with the island! We spray the perimeter, put ant traps around, and clean up any bugs if we see them, as well as advise our guests to keep all foodstuffs in the fridge or in containers. Our guest informed us she saw one large roach exiting the AC and one gecko in the same area. She also mentioned seeing a some ants in the bedroom. We found out the roach had snuck in through a crack around the exterior AC line, along with the gecko. We remedied that situation very easily and quickly and had no further complaints about those two invaders. She did not mention to us seeing any other roaches except the one she saw in the bedroom. Once we put the ant traps outside she said she had no further problems with ants. We were sorry our guest was upset by seeing these (few) bugs. We tried to remedy it right away as we really want our guests to have a stress-free stay, and luckily both the one roach and gecko were no longer an issue from then on, and no other bugs will be able to sneak in that way again. I should add that was an uncommon, one-off situation that has never occurred before in over 10 years, and because it was remedied immediately, we do not anticipate seeing a roach or a gecko in the AC again.

Perfect home in Kailua
This pristine home had everything we needed for our 9 day stay on Oahu. Family of four (older teenagers) stayed comfortably and enjoyed the pool and short walk to Kailua Beach. Kailua is where we always stay when visiting Oahu and we will definitely book this property on a future trip. Amanda was a wonderful host - easy to communicate with and provides all you need for a fantastic stay.

Wonderful, clean house with a great pool and yard!
We had a wonderful stay at this property! It was the perfect location in a nice neighborhood being so close to the beach. There are 2 backyards for my family to spread out in- one with a beautiful pool and the other with a large grassy area. Both had plenty of seating and shade for everyone to relax. When we went to the beach, there was a cart which made it easy to transport the umbrellas and chairs. The owner even brought us a second umbrella when we requested additional shade. We waited 2 years for this trip and it was well worth it!

This house is a lovely place to spend time enjoying the whole island of Oahu. It is a short walk to one of the most beautiful and uncrowded beaches that was great for kids with good body surfing waves.The pool was also a big draw for the kids. it is a short drive into Kailua and only 25 minutes from Honolulu. The kitchen is adequately equipped for making meals and the large back yard was nice as well.

The house had everything you could possibly need to have a comfortable stay. It’s in a perfect location for the beach & there are restaurants a short Uber ride away. The only negative thing I’d say is that everything in the house is white & if you don’t want people (women) to use the white face clothes to wash their face then please provide an alternative.

Great Stay in lovely house
We enjoyed our stay as the house is very nice and close to the beach. We were 3 couples and had lots of space. Pool was very nice to have. Views are also very nice. Few things we thought were missing such as a propane BBQ and a safe. Only issue we had was with the check-in. We were to call in to get the code upon arrival, however we didn't have cell phone service as we are from Canada and had not purchased a travel plan for our phones. It might be better to provide check in procedures with check in code when payment is made in full. Thank you for our lovely stay.

Peaceful Stay in Kailua
Our family of 3 adults loved our vacation in this large open home. The house is simply, yet comfortably furnished with everything you need for the perfect vacation. The pool was extremely clean and we made use of it everyday. Owners Amanda and Richard were kind and responsive with directions to the beach and simple cable instructions. Located in a quiet residential area and close to everything. North Shore was an hour, Pearl Harbor and Hanauma Bay were both 1/2 hr. Local market is a sweet stop for a sandwich, gelato or great wine (to go). 2 mins from a Safeway. A/C in each bedroom as well as main house. Laundry located in garage was nice to have. Walk to private beach entrance took 5 mins. A++++

All white and clean…just like the photos. A 7 minute walk to the beach. We ate nearly every meal out and didn’t do any cooking. The dishwasher is not full size, so wouldn’t be the best for cooking for a large family. We loved it!

Beautiful home 5 minutes from Kailua Beach.
Our family was pleased to walk into such a beautiful, open floor plan home. The kitchen was the perfect size for cooking meals and the living room/tv room was such a comfortable area for the family to gather and relax. Each bedroom was so welcoming and very comfortable. The pool was gorgeous and used daily after beach time or exploring the island. It was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the evenings or start the day.. Having so many wonderful restaurant options and a grocery store nearby was amazing. Amanda was just great and very friendly! We absolutely recommend this home for anyone planning a vacation to Kailua!

All I can say is book it!!!!! We came here from Delaware and Germany to celebrate the engagement, of our Son and his Girlfriend, who live here in Kailua! This was the perfect place to stay! Clean… Bright…. Location is perfect to the beach (and Starbucks;)! We wanted for nothing. Amenities were amazing and let’s talk abt the pool! Rooms were bright and cheerful…. The furniture was comfy and clean. We did shopping prior to getting here, but really needed nothing. Amanda made it really easy. Guys! No kidding! BOOK THIS PLACE!

This property is ideal for families and has everything you need for a great vacation. Property is beautiful with large pool and even larger backyard. Perfect Family Property
This Kailua property was perfect for our family of five vacation. The property and amenities are exactly as described and shown. The house is sparkling clean with nice upgrades throughout. Stayed here with my husband and 4 boys, I cannot say enough great things about this home so beautiful, super clean, walking distance to beautiful kailua Beach. The host was super helpful and accommodating to our family after our airline bumped our arrival time to oahu to a much earlier time. All rooms and common area have ac. This is truly an amazing property! We stayed for over a week and the place was spotless when we arrived. The owner is extremely helpful and very responsive. This was the perfect home for our family. We swam in the pool every single day, the kitchen is very well stocked for meal prep, and it was the perfect base for exploring other parts of the island. My husband and I rented Jane’s house for one month. Wonderful location to travel around the island. The house is sparkling clean and open and bright! On one side of the house is a lovely large backyard with a dining table and chairs which we ate all our meals at. On the other side of the house is a very large lovely pool also with a dining table and chairs. It’s a 3 block walk to Kailua beach. The house comes with beach chairs and umbrella and boogie boards. Jane was very quick to respond to any issues or questions we had about the house. I would highly recommend renting this house. Very quiet neighborhood and no more Han one and a half miles to restaurants and grocery stores.

Beautiful, Bright, Spacious, Quiet!
We absolutely loved our stay at this home. The location is perfect for quick access to Kailua town and a sunrise walk on the beach, but still peaceful and quiet. The heated pool was fabulous on some of the chillier winter days so we got great use out of it. The huge back yard was well maintained and perfect for the kids to run around. The interior is as-pictured: extremely spacious and bright. Our family of four was able to spread out for Zoom work and school and everyone had their own space. The kitchen is well equipped with the essentials, and there were tons of sand toys and beach gear. One thing we really appreciated was that items such as TP and garbage bags were provided for the length of the stay - some homes don't do that for extended stays and it is really annoying to have to go buy things like that. There were people staying in the apartment, but other than a friendly hello in the driveway, we didn't even know they were there. I would highly recommend this home and Jane was a lovely host!

Jane was VERY helpful in answering my questions, getting us situated once we arrived, and making the whole process very smooth. The house itself was perfect for the 7 of us. There is a small single bed in the living room area that we used for the 7-year old in our family. The other 6 members of our family including myself stayed in the 3 bedrooms. The living room area is very wide open which was perfect. Very airy and very well lit which made it great to just hang out. The pool was bigger than we thought it was going to be and that was a really nice surprise. Plus it had beautiful blue lights which made for a cool mood in the evening. The house is about 3 blocks from the ocean and a very short walk. There were boogie boards at the house to use and they were used many times during the trip. All in all, a great property to stay out while in Kailua!

Perfect Location
This was a great property for the two weeks we were in Hawaii. While having easy access to shopping and sites the beach and private pool were by far the biggest hits with our kids. The walk to the beach is less then 10 minutes and with the provided wagon as simple as you could hope. Another great feature was that the house is close enough to Honolulu to get there for dinner, but far enough away that you never felt like you were surrounded by tourists. So, if you are going for a week or more this house is a perfect destination. Before we even flew away the kids were asking when we could come back!

Beautiful property in great location
Jane’s property is exactly as shown in her pictures. Our family of 9 stayed comfortably in both the main house and adjoining apartment. Super close to Kailua beach and a short drive to Lanikai. Washer and dryer was a huge asset. Be sure to keep noise level down as the neighbouring house is steps away. Would love to return again soon.

We brought our family of 5 adults and 1 infant to Oahu for the baby to meet her great grandparents who live on the island. The house was a perfect place for us to stay, plenty of room, amenities, location to family and the beach. It was clean and bright, comfortable beds. The air conditioning was a huge plus! Kailua Rental by the Beach
Jane's place is great for families with the pool and the openness of the house floor plan. It has everything you need from kitchen items to beach gear. Literally a 5 min walk to Kailua Beach. Wish we had more of a chance to enjoy the beach but it was Man-O-War season so the beach was invaded by jelly fish. But what can you do when it's the natural process of their migration? The only thing I would request for the house is having a rice cooker and having sharper knives (I tend to try and cook more often than not with my family) or maybe just have a knife shaperner in the drawer.
