“A fishing town”

Our hotel experience was very good. The hotel was on the main street and was convenient. It's name"Harbor View"----You can not see the harbor from the hotel

“Rooms a bit small but clean”

The outside of the building has charm (log cabin), and the office staff is very friendly and helpful. But the room (a standard double) was quite small for 2 adults and 2 teens.

“An inexpensive place to stay in Seward”

Most of the motels in Seward are pricey during the summer months. this motel is near the harbor and close to downtown. For a one or two night stay, it was very nice.

“Two star hotel w. excellent front desk and housekeeping. Spartan but functional place to sleep”

Front desk staff wonderfully helpful and friendly. Internet access was great since requested room near source next door to reception. Front window broken. Burned out bulb in bathroom lamp. Liquid soap running on empty. Price would buy a four star hotel in most places outside Seward except maybe Tokyo, NYC or Paris. Dingy tiny fishing town grossly overpriced tourist trap sitting on a seismic and economically blighted area with a dreary climate. Day cruise while also overpriced was fantastic in views of whales, orcas, puffins. Great narration by on board local park ranger who was kind patient and instructive to kids on board. Nice place to visit maybe once in a lifetime. Avoid for more than one night's stay. Town folk are generally unfriendly and terrible to tourists. Maybe find better in British Columbia next door.

“About what you'd expect”

Seward in July is generally jammed. As such, don't expect to find bargains.? This is a basic hotel which did well for one night stay. There's no free breakfast, and the office was closed from 10 PM to 7 AM. Wifi did not work in our room, but did work in the office or on the benches outside the office. The hotel was clean and convenient to the restaurants in the center of town and to the boat dock, which was our reason for being there.

“Clean and comfortable basic no-frills lodging”

Registration desk staff was friendly. Facility was realitively new and in good condition. Rooms were basic but very clean and quite confortable. The location is convenient to the small downtown area and the harbor. We would stay here again when in Seward.

“Harborview without the view”

The room was clean and satisfactory, though the view was missing. The photo that showed the view from the room must have been taken from the roof. We could only see a glimpse of the harbour through two large buildings and overgrown trees. Not what was shown. Manager lacked any life but obliged with transfers!

“Find some place else!”

There are better hotels downtown Seward. Lobby closes at 10:00 PM so if you need ice after that time good luck. Walls are paper thin so every flush next door all loud talk can disturb you. Internet speed is alower than Pony Express.

“Not Impressed”

Advertised Wifi, but it was active for the rooms near the office only. Also, could not hear the TV when adjoining rooms were running water. That was with the volume all the way up.

“Choose a different place”

A little shabby and dated. There are better around.
