Stylish and bright cottage with stunning sea views

Three bedroom cottage in West Wemyss, Fife, Scotland. Sea Views.

Charming conservation village population around 250, complete with clock tower, harbour and white and cream washed houses. Situated on the shores of the Forth the cottage located top of village proffering magnificent sea views southward towards Berwick Law, Arthur's Seat and Edinburgh.

A heritage-style build in the manner of traditional Fife coastal dwellings, the cottage it is immaculately presented and offers spacious and welcoming accommodation for four people on two levels.

Downstairs accommodation comprises a cloakroom, large sunny living room and dining area for six with French windows to rear opening to patio, small garden and views beyond. Separate well equipped kitchen with rear door to small garden.

Upstairs there are three bright and comfortable bedrooms each with built-in wardrobes and wooden hangers, the master double faces south, while the two singles (adjoining) overlook quiet estate woodland. The family bathroom is equipped with overhead shower and bath. A utility space in the hallway houses various domestic and outdoor equipment, wifi, television, radio and DVD.

West Wemyss is located on the prestigious Fife coastal path where visitors can enjoy local walks, explore iron age caves and view wildlife including a wide variety of seabirds and colonies of seals. Aside from this the Kingdom is home to some outstanding summer arts festivals, many historical sights, great hill walking, ancient golf courses and fine cuisine particularly along the East Neuk.

The village is easily accessible being only minutes from major road and rail networks, Edinburgh, Dundee and St. Andrews all less than an hour away. Nearby Kirkcaldy for mainline East Coast direct trains to and from London and Aberdeen. A good range of shops, swimming pool, parks and car rentals are also available in Kirkcaldy. Fantastic stay over Easter. Great location for travelling both south to Edinburgh, north to Perth/Dundee and east to St Andrews. House was ideal for family of 4, quiet location, great parking and local walks along beach.

Excellent house and village, inadequate information
This cottage is beautiful and a great value in a quiet village. Consider bringing all comestibles needed for your stay, especially if you come in on the bus — no eggs or butter (or Prosecco) were waiting as indicated in the listing. Some instructions for non-locals are badly needed: Strive not to be scalded in the confusing shower, and you’ll need to turn on the power to the stove in order to cook. The location can’t be beat, and the place is charming. We just needed accurate expectations and some guest information.

Beautiful Wemyss
This cottage is set on a hillside adjoining several cottages. The views from the back overlooking the bay are spectacular. The only negative is that the village has no restaurants or pubs. You will have to drive to neighboring villages to buy food or to eat in a restaurant or pub. The beds need to be mentioned as they were very comfortable. The cottage was clean, but did not provide garbage bags, batteries for the controller, nor detergent for clothes washing. Also, there is no dryer.

Fantastic property in a gorgeous location
We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean and well equipped and had the most wonderful views. The Fife coastal path was on the doorstep and we enjoyed several walks. It is also convenient for travelling into Edinburgh and many other local towns including St Andrews. We would highly recommended this property.

A quiet place...but not like the movie
West Wemyss is the quietest village I have ever been to. If you want quiet, this is your choice. The photograph in the advert doesn't do the just to the beautiful view of the sea especially when the weather is nice. Apartment is fantastic , very well equipped and Lisa makes you feel welcome by the extra bits she does such as bottle of proseco and stuff for the breakfast if you arrive late. Highly recommended

Neighbours lovely, village too. A "genuine" sort of place - no tourist tat, an excellent range of walking (with chilled-out canine population, but don't let your dog near the dangerous seals!). We hope Lisa will let us come back before too long!

Lovely comfortable house with stunning views!
Our stay was just perfect in so many ways. The house is comfortable and well equipped with high quality furniture and fittings. It’s in a very quiet area and with easy parking. The views from the bedroom and terrace are just stunning, and constantly changing with the light, weather and tides. West Wemyss is an interesting little village, on the Fife coastal path, perfect for an after dinner stroll to the harbour, and within easy driving distance to all the gorgeous Fife coastal villages, St Andrews, Edinburgh.... Contact with Lisa was quick and easy. I think we’ll be back!

Wonderful views in Kirkcaldy
We rented this for a short break while attending an open day at St. Andrews. It is extremely clean and well provisioned. There were basic groceries available which were very welcome after a long drive north. We had a few problems locating the heating controls but Lisa was incredibly responsive so we were up and running within 10 - 20 minutes. The view is lovely - looking out over the river and the house was perfect for our stay.

Relaxing trip to Scotland
The house is perfect, over looking the sea and very comfortable. We didn’t realise that the garden wasn’t enclosed which made it a bit difficult with our dog. We should have checked. The village is lovely and everyone was very friendly. If you’re up early a walk to sea is a must if you want to catch a glimpse of the seals! We visited Edinburgh and St.Andrews, both in easy reach. A lovely holiday.
