A real gem in Puno!
The Hacienda Puno Hotel is a gem in Puno. The service is very friendly, the condition is very good, the location is perfect, and is a real value for the cost. The breakfast is plentiful and included but the cost of the food in the restaurant is a bit expensive.

Friendly Staff
Extremely friendly staff. I arrived late and left early so I did not get to use all of the facilities. The staff prepared a nice boxed breakfast without me asking. Loved having an elevator and the room was larger than average. It took a while for the electric wall heater to warm the room but there were plenty of warm blankets already on the bed. My room had a bay window complete with desk. The street noise did not bother me but if you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from the street.

Pleasant plave for one night
The hotel is in easy walking distance to the plaza and other points of interest in Puno. Out room was a bit spartan, but very clean with comfortable beds. Fine for a twelve hour stay.

Hacienda Puno
Changed their prices on us. Charged us 35 soles more for the tour we were on with other people and then the other folks all had lunch included in their tours but not us. Nope our hotel didn’t book us lunches. Lastly, the place smells like cigarettes really bad. They get large tour groups that check in at all hours and just smoke in the lobby and their rooms, within minutes your room will smell like an ash tray.

The streets flooded
A fast moving hail storm hit the city, while we were out. We caught a taxi back to our hotel but it let us out across the street. There was a river running down the street. The hotel doorman brought us boots to put on and helped us cross the street. The water was knee high. Now that's customer service!!!!!

Go to Puno? You should stay here!
The hotel is really in the center of Puno. You can get to restaurants, supermarket and the plaza by walk. Although it's next to the street, it's not noisy at night. The hotel staff is very friendly and the buffet breakfast is decent, too. From the sixth floor, you can see Lake Titicaca.

Nicer than the surroundings
The location is central, but the city has very little to offer. Primarily it is a stopping point for those visiting Lake Titicaca and the floating islands. That said, the hotel is a nice little oasis in an otherwise bland neighborhood. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and the breakfast was good.

Perhaps an isolated incident
Comforter was unclean. However, when notified when I was to sleep. Came to change it. 2 luggages were handed to hotel staff for storage at 0930, upon retrieved the padlock of one was missing. Lost stuff? Yes. Worse money.

Great hotel in a great location.q
We have been fortunate to have acceptable places to stay while in Peru, but Hacienda Puna was the best. The hotel is located close to shopping and historical places, and a 20 minute walk to the port. The staff was friendly and very helpful, particularly The young gal at the front desk In the afternoons. The service in the restaurant was better than good and the food was excellent. The rooms were made up early and efficiently.

Nice hotel
Very nice hotel. We found a great deal the night before so the price was really good for us. The breakfast was decent with lots of fresh fruit, breads, and eggs. When we checked in we were offered a tour to Uros and Taquile for 90 soles per person, however when we walked down to the pier, we found what seemed to be a very similar tour for only 25 soles per person (which we enjoyed very much)

They have parking, as they claim on Hotels.com.
We reserved Hacienda Puno because they claim to have self-parking. They don't. We arrived late and had to park illegally on the street because all the parking garages in the neighborhood were closed. That meant we had to wake up at 6am to repark in a nearby garage. We would have NEVER paid so much for a Puno hotel if we'd have known that they do not, indeed, have a self-parking lot. Also, a 9am check-out is beyond ridiculous... especially when you arrive late and had to repark your car at 6am. The only good thing I can say is that they allowed us to leave at 10am instead of 9am, but didn't tell us until the morning that it'd be ok. The WIFI was not good. The shower had good, hot water. In the morning, there was a nice guy at the front desk who helped me find the underground parking at Hotel Royal for my next night's stay in the Uros.

Pleasant stay
I was pleased that I chose Hacienda Puno when I compared it with the location of other hotels. It was very convenient to get to the Plaza de Armas and the pedestrian street. Our room faced the street and it was noisy at times but since we returned from our trips very tired we fell asleep quickly. Staff were courteous and gave us directions or suggestions where to go.

OK for a 1 night stay!
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Cannot beat the price, location and amenities. Please keep in mind the 'grade' of this city and other available choices!! Do not compare it with hotels in the US. Couple of instances during our stay though: 1. The heater in the room was not working well. Upon request, they promptly provided a 2nd heater which made the room nice and comfortable. 2. During check-in, the staff was surprised at my reservation (which clearly said, 1 room, 1 night and 2 people). The staff said, she was expecting only 1 person. Ended up charging me an additional $10, since we were 2 people! Tried to argue, but didn't work. 2.B. Also, for some reason, they think every online booking is through 'www.expedia.com'. They do not know 'www.hotels.com'. And they wanted me to make the full payment....again! I tried to reason with them that my reservation was confirmed and amount was fully paid. They did not agree. I had to make the payment. But fortunately, the following day, they checked with someone and realized that I was correct. They promptly apologized and returned my payment, after deducting the $10, for the extra person! I will be taking this up with 'hotels.com'.

Good, but could have been better
We liked the location and the hotel was pretty clean. The cable was good and WIFI ok. They also have laundry service. However, I don't think anyone has trained the staff. The guy who was making breakfast was blowing his nose and coughing in the kitchen and then not washing his hands while preparing our breakfast. We left some baggage in their storage to go to Puno and when we returned nobody knew where it was. They had to check all the rooms before they finally found it. Also, when we tried to check out the woman said that we had to pay cash, even though there were plenty of signs in the lobby for Visa, AMEX, and MasterCard and we paid for the previous stay with a credit card. As it turns out, nobody on shift knew how to work the credit card machine and we had to walk them through it. Also, the pillows are lumpy.

Average hotel, convenient location in Puno
We stayed two nights at this hotel and it was fine apart from the fact that the windows are not double glazed - unfortunately the streets in Puno are VERY noisy, with plenty of car horns being used until late at night... We would recommend asking for a room at the back of the building, but cannot guarantee that it would improve the noisiness of the rooms. Aside from this, breakfast was very good and the staff was very helpful. The laundry service is also very good and reasonably priced.

Very basic room but warm beds and plentiful hot water. Service was mixed, bellboys were super but reception staff unhelpful at times. Early 9am check out and end of breakfast service was a pain. Breakfast room had a lovely view however.

Great value
The hotel is located one block from the City square with a beautiful church. The bathrooms were newly renovated and were beautiful and spacious. The breakfast was good and the restaurant was on the top floor and gave you a feeling of being on top of the world. After all, you are at 12,500 feet.

Central hotel in a busy noisy street
Avoid rooms facing the street as it is on a busiest street with cars and people honking all day and night. Average tourist hotel. Bathroom is below average. Breakfast buffet, free wifi in room, and hotel service staff are very nice.

Overall pretty good at the reduced rate.
I wouldn't want to have paid full price and although my booking said 'lake view' the room didn't have one. Very little English spoken by staff, so make sure your Spanish is up to scratch - that goes for Peru in general. Good breakfast, good location.

Well located, but our bedroom was noisy because of the street. Good breakfast buffet, and overall, clean hotel. No heating but you can ask for a small heater. Also, staff at the reception could be nicer.

Great hotel in Puno
We were taking a 2 week road trip through Peru and stayed here for 2 days on our way out and 1 night on our way back home to Bolivia. We were treated with total respect and courtesy. OUr room on the first 2 nights was on the front side at the intersection, so it was a little noisy. Our room on our return was also on the front but not at the intersection and noise was no issue. We would stay there again and have already told friends to stay there when traveling through. Thank You!
