Quiet getaway for my special lady 💕
It was truly what she deserved. The accommodations fit our special needs, all on one level and lacking absolutely nothing. Highly recommended. Our hosts and the other guests were very nice and welcoming. Flowers were especially nice, having had lots of recent rains, and we would love to return.

Great Place
Perfect for us. Comfortable, quiet, relaxing, fabulous hosts, great grounds and beautiful surroundings. Off the beaten path but still close enough to enjoy all that San Diego has to offer. Will definitely stay here again when we come to visit our son, daughter in law and granddaughter.

What a nice stay. The host showed us around their property where various fruit trees and herbs are available in February. We became educated and enjoyed fresh tangerines, grapefruit varieties, and lemons. The eggs from their onsite chickens were also excellent. The guest house was comfortable for the three of us with excellent sunset viewing from the deck. The kitchen was adequately stocked with some leftover spices, condiments, and oil available. We left some ourselves. If you prefer to be in the middle of the city or near the ocean, this might not be the place for you as it is 40-50 minutes with slow roads and traffic to the sea and to San Diego. But if you prefer getting away a bit with day trip possibilities then this should work fine. It did for us.

Comfort and beauty, only 30 mins. from the city!
I was traveling alone to a reunion in the San Diego area. This rental on the Barona reservation in Lakeside was like a paradise! The unit had plenty of room for one person, and there was actually room enough for four people to sleep comfortably, as there is a second bed and also a large sofa in the living area. I loved the rustic decor. It added to the country feel of the place. I was on the go, thanks to attending four events in three days, but when I returned to the unit, it felt like I was at home, and I felt like I could truly rest, which I did. The bed in the bedroom was really comfortable. The unit has a small kitchen, and it is overall well-stocked with everything that a traveler would need to use. I met the host only when I first arrived. Victoria was friendly, accommodating, and unobtrusive. The parking space is right in front of the unit. I just want to mention that the road leading to the reservation is very winding, and care should be taken going up or down the mountain. The unit is very near to Barona Casino, which is a large resort with gaming, a buffet, food court, steak house, golf club, etc. There is also a convenience store with a gas station at the resort. The only thing I noticed that I would have changed: The ceiling fans only have two settings, which are high-speed and off. It would be nice to have an intermediate setting, but really that is only quibbling...This is an outstanding place to stay if you want a chance to be away from the crowds in the city!

It was a perfect getaway. We were looking for something off the beaten path, quiet, reflective, peaceful and we got it. We were there during the storm but no problems at all. Hosts are quick to communicate, easy parking and equipped with all supplies we needed. Flowers, fruit, deck, sunsets, mountain views. Loved it all!

San Diego Trip
We booked this property for a long weekend trip that we were making to the San Diego area to see a WWII Veteran friend who would be turning 100 years old. The property was as described in the listing and had everything we needed plus some!! We had a great stay with no problems. We were gone most of the days and didn't have time to explore the property but wish we would have been able to. The scenery was amazing. Did not get the chance to visit with the owners, just a quick wave and short introduction! Would rent this property again if we are ever in the area! Thanks!!!!

A Perfect Ramona Hide-a-Way
My wife and I completely enjoyed our four days at this wonderful property. It was exceedingly clean and peaceful with wrap-a-round views of California hills. Ramona is a short drive away for wine tasting, groceries, and interesting restaurants. Birds are everywhere and the hosts are exceptionally nice and welcoming. We would absolutely return.

Great stay outside of the city
Our stay here was lovely and even better than expected! Easy in and out access with everything you need equipped in the guest house. You’re gifted amazing views all around and even a different perspective of staying in California. The host is very helpful and sweet! All the info and suggestions you need are written down on paper for you. Would definitely stay again!

Quiet and Relaxing
My husband and I along with our daughter enjoyed our stay even though it was a work trip. We worked nights and we would come back early am and never had a hard time getting to sleep. It was quiet the whole time we were there. The house was a perfect fit for the 3 of us. The Hosts are Amazing people and very welcoming.

My daughters and I stayed here five nights and were pleased with the location, wonderful windows/view and lovely flowers around the property. We purchased light breakfast foods and then were gone most of the day until after dark, exploring San Diego and beyond. Two of us shared the king bed which was very comfortable, and one slept on the twin bed next to the window. We were thankful to have ceiling fans to use at night with open windows. Plenty of dishes and a nice toaster oven to use. Easy entry and exit. Apple Maps brought us right to the property (after dark), but I was also thankful for clear directions sent from Victoria. I’m a light sleeper so I did have to adjust to some of the dogs barking at night or early morning as well as some helicopters — and it didn’t happen every night… my girls didn’t have any problems. And we had windows open every night. It’s at least a 30-40 min drive into San Diego, but we were willing to drive and explore. Great price for gas at the station nearby. The house was roomier than we anticipated and accommodated us quite well! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the mountains and separation from city life! Thank you!

At first the property upon arrival was nice and the views are amazing of the mountains. After the first couple of nights the shower would get real hot then real cold. After this we noticed ants everywhere in the home. While speaking to the host we did get our money back however, the response to my personal phone after check out was quite an insulting message stating we (2) left the place dirty and no wonder why there were ants in the house. We did no such thing. Also, last time I checked a *cleaning fee is already assessed. If there was a couple of crumbs on your countertop your cleaning person should be able to handle that. I cannot in good conscience recommend staying at this property unless the ant infestation has been taken care of.

BEWARE Jason is not welcome back. Jason and his friend left our beautiful clean and neat guest house very dirty. Unwashed dishes dry food on them crumbs all over the counter and the floor no wonder why the aunts came inside.I asked him if I can come in and inspect the house he refused!! I was happy to give him the money so they would just leave.IT WAS A DISASTER FILTHY AND NASTY.we were relieved that they left. There was no problem with hot/cold water after they left Since Jason left we had no problem with any bugs. we had many guests all are happy and loved our place

If you are looking for spectacular sunset views in the mountains look no further. Check-in was a breeze! Communication and customer service exceptional. Spotless accommodations. What you see is what you get in the pictures. The view was truly spectacular from inside the unit as well as on the balcony. You just cozy up on the couch and take it in. The hosts were very accommodating and the fruit garden was made available. The oranges, dates, and apples that I had were delicious. I did not get to the pomegranates and the grapefruits were not ripe yet. I did have a couple of fresh eggs though. The host made themselves available but were not intrusive in any way. I enjoyed them very much and will certainly come back.

Wonderful views, wonderful hosts!
We had a great stay and really enjoyed Ed & Victoria's hospitality! They shared wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables from their garden and made us feel right at home. The unit was clean and comfortable; the bed was great. We were attending quite a few events in Mission Bay and the drive was fine - traffic wasn't bad, and it took us about 30-45 minutes to get there. Our favorite part of staying here was the time we spent on the patio - sunsets were spectacular and the views were wonderful. If you are looking for a comfortable and inviting place for a relaxed stay, this is it!

The place was absolutely beautiful 😍 It was around a 40 min ride from San Diego. Driving in the mountain's was a lil scary at night for me. But the views were spectacular! There was a slight ant problem which i didn't like. But everything else was great! The stars at night we're unlike anything I've ever seen before and was a highlight of my trip! The owner was very nice and brought us veggies from the garden which were delicious 😋 I'd definitely go back again!

Wonderful Lakeside, CA (Barona area) rental
Victoria & Ed could not be nicer people. They have a great rental with everything you could imagine needing right there. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses, cooking essentials, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed morning coffee on the balcony and watching the sunset with a glass of wine, enjoying a beautiful view of the landscape. . The bed is quite comfortable and the area very quiet. Barona casino is close by for meals, if guests do not feel like cooking. The food court had many good choices. Thank you, Victoria & Ed, for a very enjoyable stay. We highly recommend your property for visitors to the area.

This property is beautiful and relaxing. My husband and I stayed here for 4 days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Very peaceful and the view is amazing from the balcony. The guest house is very clean, cozy and the bed is more comfortable than my own! When we met Victoria she was so friendly, we just wish we had more time to get to know her and her husband. Scenic Getaway
The pictures of the landscape and scenery really convinced us to stay at this property. When we arrived, we were not disappointed. The beautiful flowers as you walk in, and the hillside views from the patio are just perfect. We enjoyed our morning and evening beverages from the patio every day we stayed. Victoria was very kind and accommodating. She responded to my few messages very quickly and we had no logistical issues. You get easy access to the property and parking a vehicle. We were greeted a few times by their dog, but she was calm and unsure of us at first but became friendly. There's plenty of hiking & sights to see nearby. You do have to spend some time driving if you are going back and forth to San Diego, but it wouldn't deter us from staying again.

Much needed few days away
Victoria and Ed are very nice people, Zena too, with a beautiful place. This place is outside of town up in the mountains with a very relaxing deck with a nice view. We were not able to spend most of our days there, we had business in town, but when we were there it was the most restful we have been in over a year. I hope this place is available the next time I go to Lake side. 2 thumbs up.

Property owner and homeaway representative were awesome in refund in full due to these unavoidably circumstances... Homeowners had even gotten xtra food in case we arrived and couldn't go anywhere. We will definitely try to stay there if we can in the future

This is a lovely guesthouse on a beautiful property. Victoria and Ed are gracious hosts and their charming pets add to the experience! Peaceful surroundings
We stayed here for a week, had a wonderful time. Our grandchildren enjoyed the zip line and prowling around in the "woods." The grandkids and we got acquainted with the sweet dog, Xena, and the cats. The mattress was very comfortable, the living area quite nice and since we do not do any serious cooking while on vacation the kitchen was adequate as well. Mostly we just make a simple breakfast everyday. The electric skillet worked great. Lunch and dinner are eaten in restaurants or at my daughter's home. There's a good sized balcony with a grill and beautiful views of the countryside, no hectic, busy traffic as a distraction. If you like to gamble there is a casino less than 10 minutes away, casino has some nice restaurant options. All in all, we were very comfortable in this guest house and we would love to stay here again.

Ed and Victoria were very friendly and hospitable hosts. Their property contains a large variety of fruit trees. We enjoyed the oranges, lemons, Pakistan mulberries and eggs they shared with us. Our guest house was clean and the space was more than adequate for my wife and I. The location was a good base for visiting the San Diego area (30-40 minute drive) or the numerous hiking spots in the area. And if you hike from Lake Poway to potato chip rock on your descent make sure you look for the hippo rock formation.
