I've stayed here many times before without any issues, but this time was different, mainly because of the clerk named Kentrell. My girlfriend and I arrived at 2:45pm and checked in. He informed us that our room was not clean yet and that housekeeping would text us when it's ready. I asked him how long and he dismissively said that he doesn't know and that check-in is between 3 and 5, so it could be anywhere during that time. At about 3:10pm, I went to the desk to ask for any updates and he asked "Did they text you yet? It will be ready once they do."
At this point I'm getting frustrated because we wanted to spend time at the pool before it closed at 5. This was our Anniversary trip and I wanted it to be special for my girlfriend. So I decided to call housekeeping myself and talk to them. They informed me that it would be the front desk that would tell me when the room is ready, and not their department. This is what I expected and experienced any other time, as it is the front desk who handles check-ins, not housekeeping.
I go back to the counter and this time I talk to another clerk, who looked up our room and saw that it was still showing as dirty. However, instead of just blowing us off, she looked for another room that was the same as ours and gave us our keys. By this time it was nearly 4 o clock. It took this nice, professional woman a total of 3 minutes to get us into a room while Kentrell wasted an hour of our day and pool time. He has poor customer service skills.
