Classic, elegant hotel, with first class service.

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: The dedication of the staff at Hotel Palacio Estoril is truly exceptional. It reflects a strong, loyal team that is very well supported and guided.
Cons: Nothing of note.
Location: Located in beautiful grounds, the Hotel is a short walk to Estoril beach, from where you can stroll along the pleasant seafront corniche to Cascais.
Hotel Palacio Estoril is a superb choice for a peaceful vacation. If you value excellent, friendly, professional service then this hotel is for you. Steeped in tradition, the hotel also offers first rate sports and leisure facilities, including a full service SPA, a decent gym, a nearby golf course and a fabulously large swimming pool and sun terrace. Food is excellent with a generous breakfast buffet, whilst the various reception rooms and terraces give several options for a quiet drink, or to read a book. The hotel has been well renovated and modernised, so whilst classic, it is also very welcoming and cosy. With excellent transport options nearby, the hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the surounding area, including Lisbon and Sintra.

Excellent Palacio - As always

Posted Oct 3, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Hotel - nothing, Weather awful - not seen rain before in Portugal!
Location: Estoril. Casino, Restaurants, Beaches and Cascais, Sintra nearby. Lisbon only 30 minutes on train. Golf courses galore if that is your thing.
Room overlooking pool (with balcony) as booked. All staff very helpful - especially the senior (?) Concierge who helped with talking to a Portuguese Baggage claims company (my case was wrecked in a baggage 'incident' on arrival at Lisbon.) Messages on answerphone for claims company all in Portuguese. Also helped with the vagaries of Portuguese keyboards - had to use hotel Business Centre Internet service to communicate with them. Chambermaids brilliant - if they did not fully understand what we were saying, they rang reception to ring us to check understanding. Room service very efficient. commissionaire on door has been there for 53 years!

'Grand & Cosy' (as per hotels emblem).

Pros: A very traditional well run Portuguese Hotel with well trained and attentive staff. Great Location and facilities.
Cons: Buffet breakfast could perhaps be updated.
Location: Nearby are :-Casino, Estoril Golf Club, Restaurants, Beach and rail communication to Lisbon or Cascais.
From check-in to check-out was a pleasure, excellent and helpful staff ensured a memorable stay. Not our first visit to the 'Palacio' hopefully not the last.

Historic luxury hotel in Estoril.

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Everything! Particularly the breakfast buffet, the Portuguese barbecue on Sunday evening (seasonal), and the spa facilities.
Cons: Could hardly be better.
Location: Nice beaches, scenic promenade walks along coast in both directions. A good choice of local restaurants, including on seafront. Close to Lisbon.
This hotel is ideally placed for the beach and the station with frequent trains to Cascais and Lisbon. It's in a quiet location away from the main road but in easy reach of all the facilities. The hotel is luxurious and very comfortable. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient in all departments. Food and drink in the hotel is pricey but there are plenty of local alternatives. Good pool and sun lounge area and health fitness and spa facilities.

Super Classy Hotel

Posted Sep 4, 2014
We were going to a friends son's wedding about 100km north of Lisbon which we had booked to go to about 9 months ago, with a stay of 4 nights. About a month ago another couple and us decided to change the flight out and have 3 days break first. Having decided on Estoril or Cascais I did some research and the Palacio seemed to be a great choice to relax. It was a great choice and reminded me of an old colonial type hotel. Everything about it was excellent, right down to the cold towels and little drinks brought round to everyone round the pool during the afternoons. I would say having a car is useful because we went into Cascais one morning and one evening so it was easy. My one small criticism was that there is not tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.
