Best hotel in Lisbon

Posted Oct 28, 2014
A great hotel is an understatement. Historic, unique, and a great experience. Staff was helpful, experienced and facilitated any needs you may have. The rooms were clean, and had AM and PM service and turn down. The restaurant was top notch and the waiters are First Class! This is the place to stay that is in Lisbon within minutes from everything and offers you both a restful, culinary and cultural experience.

Beautiful hotel, recommended

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: The style and class of the old building
Cons: More staff on reception, especially during busy check-out periods!
Location: Well located for the convention centre or for exploring old Belem.
A well-run, beautiful hotel centred on a classic Portuguese palace, elegantly extended to provide additional accommodation.

Hotel of Stature

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: The bed you should offer a softer alternative
Location: Everything you need is a 10 euro taxi ride to the history of Portugal and Lisbon. Shopping the same
We spent 3 days enjoying this wonderful hotel and it's staff. The whole experience was one we will remember for a long time. From the moment you check in you are made to feel special and that that really care about you. The food is very good and breakfast is outstanding. The only thing negative was the bed which was very hard but on asking the front desk if they could do anything about it, it was done and a good nights sleep was had. So thank you for a great experience

Probably the nicest hotel i have ever stayed in.

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Everything! service, facilities, staff, food.
Location: Go to Belem as it is beautiful and the monuments are stunning. For a nice meal go to the docks. Oceanos 5 is amazing.
I loved this hotel. The hotel and facilities were second to none. The service was extremely good and very unobtrusive. The only downside was that the drinks at the bar were expensive but any good hotel charges more for drinks. The pool area was very nice and the spa facilities were great. The palace is beautiful and breakfast buffet was extensive to say the least - 7 types of cheese and 8 types of bread served daily!

A perfect oasis

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Although a 5* it was not too stuffy or formal. The gardens are wonderfully calming. The main house is both sumptuously elegant and relaxing.
Cons: Only one thing: I drink tea & coffee like it is going out of fashion, therefore tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been great.
Location: It is possible to walk into nearby Belem but not the main town. For this you need a taxi. However, taxis are always nearby and are cheap.
A simply fantastic hotel with efficient, friendly & happy staff.

Wonderful experience

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Attentive and friendly staff; excellent facilities; wonderful amenities.
Location: A short distance from the city centre but a haven from the noise and bustle - a wonderful place to spend the day or return to at night.
There was a misunderstanding about our phone booking which only became apparent once we had arrived. The front desk staff were extremely understanding and did everything they could to correct the situation and even compensated us with a room upgrade as a result of our initial disappointment. We stayed for a week and it was fabulous.

Pros: The grounds, the beauty of the building, the staff and the food.
Cons: Check in and front desk practices
Location: Short taxi ride to everywhere and stunning location --for us perfect.
We stayed 4 days --great place to stay--stunning. So good to be able to get away from the city and relax in comfort and swim.

5 Star Service!

Posted Jun 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
Everything about our stay was perfect, even when it seemed we were off to a rough start. Likely due to dehydration and a crazy ride to the hotel, I started feeling very faint as soon as we registered at the front desk. The concierge helped guide us to the bar since we arrived well before our room was ready, and I tried to rehydrate myself (my husband and I are doctors). The waiter at the bar was so attentive to me- bringing me water with sugar, snacks, and eventually some salt as I laid with my feet on my husband's lap on a super fancy couch over the course of 1+ hours. When our room was ready, concierge came to us and helped us to our room. Had this been any other hotel, I probably would've had to leave and go to an emergency room. The staff at Pestana was truly superb, more than we could've expected. But as already expected, our room was gorgeous and the grounds were spectacular. We wish I had felt good enough for a swim in the pool! As for the location, a quick taxi ride got us to the sites in Belem. We look forward to the next time we can stay at the Pestana in Portugal!
