Great location but outdated property

Posted Jan 15, 2015
Traveled w/ 5other girls we were the only young people on the resort. Asked multiple staff where we could get food/drink or where certain things were on the property and got no answer. Took forever to get food or drink. It location is nice bc close to downtown and has beautiful beach access and views. We wound up changing to sister property sunset after a tour the roped us into and our stay was truley magical.

Fun week on the beach!

Posted Jan 12, 2015
The Rose is a nice hotel but needs a little TLC and more attention to cleanliness. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Not a ton of food choices but overall it was always a good meal!!

Pueblo Bonito New Years

Posted Jan 11, 2015
Pros: New Year's party, pool volleyball, tennis, workouts.Beds were much more comfortable this time.
Cons: Understaffed for a holiday week, so everything happened slowly.
Location: Being on Medano beach is key for me. Love to be able to swim in the ocean right out front, or paddle away on any number of rental toys.
I like Pueblo Bonito Rose, having been there 4 times, but every time they give me a room with a less than ideal view. I was over the pool, but wonder who gets the similar rooms that also have an ocean view? I always seem to get the ones in the corner where the building zigs out toward the pool and blocks the ocean. Had a great time anyway, and the band/party for New Years right at the hotel was great, and very convenient. I dislike the "all-inclusive" requirement, and would have preferred being able to opt out of it. Even if I ate like a pig and drank like a fish, it wouldn't be worth it. And...the hotel seemed very short-staffed. Calling the front desk usually resulted in getting forwarded to a recording. It took a long time to get a drink at the beach, which of course inhibits the value of "all inclusive". And room service was horribly understaffed. It took 1.5 hours to get a cheeseburger one evening. I enjoy the pool volleyball, beach volleyball, tennis courts, and work out room. Seems silly to charge for tennis at an all-inclusive resort however. Same thing with using the spa, hot tub etc. I have to pay for that? When I'm already paying over $300/night for a room. Come on amigos, let's play fair. :o)

Nice stay

Posted Jan 11, 2015
Pros: the food, location, pool.
Cons: the customers should be aware that they are booking a resort with the major reconstruction is going on!!! Drinks are good only at the restaurant.
Location: you can walk or take a very short taxi ride to the Downtown. The resort also offers a free shuttle to a very upscale resort which is nice.
We went for 4 night for a family vacation with 2 small kids. The resort was nice, but shows some age. The location is good if you don't mind proximity to the Downtown and in-numerous people who are trying to sell you all kind of things on the beach. We stay in one bedroom room(called Luxury suite- we did not notice much luxury there) which is convenient with small children. The unpleasant surprise was that there was a major construction going on just in the middle of the hotel next to the beach and the only restaurant the resort has. I would appreciate if Expedia inform us about this construction at booking, clearly it would influence my decision whether to stay in this resort or not. It is also not mentioned at the company's website. Besides mentioned construction noise and the fact that the resort has some wear and tear, the stay was really good. The food was excellent and I mean it- particularly the dinner at the Hotel's restaurant- the steak was delicious.

Close to the beach. A lot of older people.

Good time for NYE. Amazing fireworks. A lot of older people there and the bars close way to early. Was disspointed that there was not a swim up bar and that they didn't have a free shuttle to the airport.

Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted Jan 3, 2015
Overall had a nice & relaxing experience. Would've liked more current music by the poolside. The food could've been better if it weren't cold & had less flys.. The staff was a pleasure.

Stop with the Timeshare pressure sale already

Posted Jan 3, 2015
Pros: The staff is friendly and courteous
Cons: The food quality was very generic and repetitive. By the third day we avoided eating in the Hotel's restaurants and preferred the local fare.
Location: Hotel is in a good location, easy to walk to the city and directly on the beach.
We arrived at the Los Cabos Airport after a 12 hour journey and immediately got the high pressure Timeshare sales pitch. Once we reached the Hotel we got accosted again and almost forced to sign up for a breakfast next morning for a sales pitch in order to receive our beach towels!! I just wanted to go to my room and sleep. Every morning after that if I happened to be in the Hotel lobby I got reminded about the Timeshare offer. Our otherwise pleasant experience with the Hotel staff, facilities was marred by this constant pressure to say "Yes". There's construction going on for a new restaurant and another hotel in the neighborhood so most mornings we woke up to construction sounds rather than the sea surf. I do understand they have to repair after the hurricane and don't hold it against them.

Beautiful hotel on a great beach

Posted Dec 31, 2014
We just returned from spending Christmas at PB Rose along with our 6 teenage/young adult children. The hotel rooms were very comfortable, the pool was beautiful and the beach lovers in our group enjoyed the beach very much. Benefits to this property include being on a beach that is safe for swimming, food is delicious, service is friendly and fantastic, and we appreciated the ability to also use PB Los Cabos next door as well as taking the shuttle to PB Sunset. Both Fellini's at the Rose and La Frida at Sunset are worth the extra surcharge over the all-inclusive package. We were within walking distance of the shops and restaurants at the Marina and the young people in our group liked that they could easily get to the party places in a short taxi ride. Extra activities that were phenomenal were chartering a private yacht for a few hours of swimming, sightseeing and whale watching (we saw 8 whales!!), Dolphin Swim and golfing at Cabo Del Sol. Negatives are high food and beverage prices if you don't have all inclusive, on the busiest days we had to get down to the beach by 8 to get loungers (not a problem at the pool), and there were lots of hawkers (but they were not aggressive and didn't bother us). Note: our diabetic son lost his glucose meter and hotel staff managed to track us down to give it to us-it would have been disastrous to have lost it. Shout out to Fernando and David for excellent service on the beach!

Nice hotel on the beach near Lands End

Posted Dec 30, 2014
Pros: Very clean and pretty with a friendly staff.
Cons: A hot tub would be nice!
Location: Perfect location! Medano Beach is hopping with water sports of every kind, shopping from the beach vendors, swimming in safe, crystal clear water, and
This hotel is very pretty and clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The beach has every option available for water sports. The water is crystal clear and beautiful to swim in with Lands End in view. The hotel is also within walking distance to the marina where we ate dinner every night. Certainly no need to rent a car or use a taxi. Beautiful place! We did wish they had a hot tub but other than that it was a perfect vacation for our family.

Nice family hotel on the beach

Posted Dec 30, 2014
Pros: family environment, nice swimmable beach
Location: other than water sports - one can enjoy ATV ride, and zip lining - each adventure requires 4 to 5 hrs. we always did 3pm tour.
Nice hotel for family. all inclusive was worth the price. one can use sister hotel (next door) restaurants also. Free Wi-Fi on swimming pool and beach. Beach is swimmable. Staff were very helpful.
