With a beyond ballooning experience planned the first morning, the property was ideally located. Also having 2 teenage boys, the pool and tennis court proved invaluable to entertain them. Excellent bbq too. Thanks.
I rarely leave bad reviews but I want to warn unsuspecting travellers. I paid $1268 for 2 nights stay and the property is appalling. The cottages appear to be built by an amateur using second hand materials. They must have gaps in the wall as a bat flew in and hovered around the lounge room. One window was warped and had panels of glass perilously close to falling out. The outside furniture probably came from kerbside collection and there was an old vinyl lounge on the front veranda. We couldn't use the table on the back veranda as it was so unstable. The tennis court was run down and don't bother bringing golf clubs. The pool was clean but uninspiring. The cottages were slightly better inside. They were clean with the exception of an old lounge. Breakfast was basic and a half drunk bottle of orange juice was left in the fridge. The single beds only had a bottom sheet and flimsy quilt. I requested extra sheeting which was delivered. Fortunately we brought extra blankets as the cottages were cold and the fireplace was ineffective. The property was located in a convenient area but there are plenty of other options available. The advertisement for this property is misleading. One star at best.

Very rustic. it didn't really look like the photos that were posted.
Lovely super quiet location with pleasant surrounds. Sadly some of the outdoor amenities are starting to look a little tired. Overall we found the peaceful serenity very relaxing.
Lovely place to stay. Quiet and relaxing. Close to shops etc. close to all the wineries. Will definitely stay there again.

Great for a group
No Stayed with a group of colleagues as we were at a 2 day conference nearby. It was great to be able to stay as a group and we certainly took advantage of the comfortable living space, fireplace and cooking facilities. Breakfast was appreciated as well as the comfortable beds and clean linens. Our only comment would be thank you for advising us of the potential for cold - the heater provided could definitely be updated to make the cottage warmer in the winter. The signposting to the cottage could be a little clearer for a night arrival but we appreciated the time taken to send us driving instructions and key arrangements. Overall a very nice stay and we were sorry we didn’t get more time to relax in the quaint Bush surroundings.
I would highly recommend Lovedale cottage,we loved the rustic house in the bush style setting. We were greeted by some hens and roosters and also farewelled by them which we thought was fantastic. We loved the fireplace which wood was bought every afternoon, the spa bath was very welcoming and the cook your own breakfast with the food supplyed ready to go in the fridge,we were looking for a lovey weekend and we were not dissapointed ! I would go back again and again, thankyou Lovedale cottages !!
Love dale cottages is a great place for a budget Hunter weekend escape. Not going to suit those looking for the 5 star experience but also not priced in that league. We found it to be a great location to explore the vineyards and very private. Cottage facilities were adequate if a bit dated, the rustic feel suited us fine. The food hamper for breakfasts was excellent, more than enough for our stay and all cooking facilities were there. If any downside, the place is a bit run down and could use a bit of maintenance, not so much the cottage but other common facilities. The free wifi was very hit and miss, finally gave up and used my Telstra connection as that was the only reliable source. I would stay again as the quiet and private nature of the cottages out way the couple of minor issues.
Was looking for a quiet spot in the hunter and we found it. Old style log cabins with mod cons of dishwasher and a.cond. made it perfect. Paul the owner couldn't do enough for us and the grounds around there are great.
Enjoyed the country atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable but could do with an update. Bed felt like it was falling apart. Lounge was from the 90's. Loved the fire and spa.
This lovely country cottage had real charm. The corner spa and wood fireplace are the highlights. If you are looking for a quiet place with simple pleasures this place is great, close enough to get in some wine but far enough to get away from it all.

Quaint, no fuss and quiet tin cottages.
Cottage has everything you need and is decorated in a retro rustic vintage feel. Kitchen didn't have an oven but all other conveniences. Air con was old and noisy but essential. In the warmer months the tin roof and walls make it very hot inside. Great spa bath. Breakfast is a great touch and makes a hearty meal to start your day.
This place has an aged but fun mini golf course, tennis court and outdoor bowling alley.
These are simple timber clad cottages with a few luxury items like a spa bath and nice bed otherwise this is a character cottage where the best advantage is that seems that you are in the middle of nowhere. The other cottages are not in any way intrusive and the owner delivers firewood every afternoon to your carport otherwise you wouldn't know there is anyone else on the property. If you are looking for a luxurious, creature comfort, pampered indulgence this isn't for you but if you are looking for character, long walks, reading books in front of the fire or on the sunny porch this is perfect. We loved it !
I took my girlfriend to the hunter for the first time, it was for her you birthday weekend. We had a ball staying at Lovedale Cottages and visiting the Hunter. Paul and his wife were extremely welcoming. We first arrived to our private cottage with a fridge that had been stocked with eggs, bacon, milk and juice. They had also provided us with a loaf of bread. This alone made us feel at home right away. We later were greeted by Paul and the family dog Aussie who was always a pleasure to have around. The cottage was rustic, although very well looked after. All the amenities one could wish for were included. We spent quality time cozying up in front of the log fireplace (Paul restocked our wood supply each night) . I would highly recommend staying at Lovedale cottages. if you are after a weekend away as a couple or with the family, it is the perfect private getaway with all the comforts of a country home. We will be back for sure!
