Kiev, the national capital, is located about 230 miles (370 kilometers) east of Lutsk.
Lutsk isn't the only spot in Western Ukraine worth seeing; visitors should also set out to see the charms of the nearby scenery, cities and cultural attractions. Rivne, lays 40 miles (64 kilometers) to the west, and Pochaiv is situated 50 miles (80 kilometers) to the north.
Around 40 miles (64 kilometers) to the east of Lutsk is Rivne, an important regional city home to Rivne Park, Pokrovsky Cathedral and Rivne Speedway. And don't head back to Lutsk until you've spent a little time at Rivne's Arena Shopping Center and Avanhard Stadium.
Enjoy moments of tranquility in Western Ukraine's churches.
The Lutsk area has great ways to experience the great outdoors. Those with a love of adventure can sign up for one of the many horse riding or ice skating tours available.
Get familiar with Ukrainian and communicate with the locals in Lutsk. "Chočeš zi mnoiu potanciuvaty?" is Ukrainian for "Would you like to dance with me?" You'll also realise that learning "Zvidky vy?", which means "Where are you from?", can be a good conservation starter.
At the end of your stay in this special place, say goodbye the way locals do, with a hearty "Do pobačennja."
