Overall, a good stay. The staff was amazing, very welcoming and helpful. The road leading to the parking lot could really use fixing. I would stay here again.

Basic, comfortable hotel near I-80
Although the hotel seems to be undergoing some renovations, it was quiet (on a Saturday night), and the room was comfortable and clean- plus easy to access off of I-80. I recommend staying here.

I only stayed to sleep. I enjoyed the pool it was peaceful and clean. My room the door stuck so it was hard to get closed to lock. The light bulbs were out in the bathroom. things were attended to quickly. I would stay again. the bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious and well laid out.

The family chooses the Best Western in Grinnell annually because it is convenient and reasonably priced. The quality, however, is slipping. The exterior is largely unkept and trash is evident around the buildings. Not much effort seems expended keeping room floors mopped or vacuumed. The facilities feel increasingly dirty with each passing year.

We couldn't stay there because the electricity had gone out earlier in the day. There had been a thunderstorm and some lightning hit the pole on their street. They were very honest about what they thought would be happening and how long it might take and did suggest that we find another place for the night. They made sure that we were not charged through Expedia which was very good at them.

Nice surprise
The room was large, clean, and quiet. Very comfortable stay and we wanted to stay longer but we need to be elsewhere. Breakfast had good choices.

Clean hotel!
The hotel was very clean and nice! The toilet didn’t flush for some reason but we only were staying from 1230 am - 6:30 am so it didn’t matter as much. One negative getting off the highway the exit was closed and we had to go to the next exit and loop around which added 10 minutes which is hard after 8 hours of driving. And the road driving in was very bumpy. But overall great experience

It smelled bad, the refrigerator for some reason was very loud and screechy, the stairs were not vacuumed, no elevator, and the front desk staff, though pleasant, seemed incapable of understanding what we needed when we asked for more blankets because it was cold in The room and the comforters were very thin. The first offering was a tablecloth. The toilets worked, the water was hot so the basics were present. The shampoo seemed like it may have just been hand soap though.

Upon arrival and checking in I get asked by the front desk clerk, what do you want? This is after being up very early for long day in the car and 1/2 of work at 4:00 pm. After getting checked in I get my room key and I ask where my room is. She proceeds to say over there but doesn't tell me or know which door would be easiest to go into to haul my carload of work gear in. Once I enter the room it appears to be clean at first glance. I proceed to hop on the shower and notice hair stuck on the tub and shower surround. I just dealt with it because I really needed a shower. After the shower I cranked the AC on high and took a nap. I woke up sweating as the AC wash pushing out humid lightly cool air. I was able to switch rooms with a working AC but had similar situaon the shower and the office chair was filthy and broken. Luckily I was able to switch the chairs from the previous room as I had a bunch of computer work I had to do it. The AC worked so I was happy. After being on the road and staying couple days I need to do some laundry as I walk by the washer and dryer multiple times to get a subpar continental breakfast. I went to the gas station and got some quarters do laundry and the washer and dryer are out of service with no signs or anything stating it's out of order. At this point I need a cocktail so I go to the ice machine...and of course it does not work. I brought my concerns up to the front desk but any and all concerns got swept under the rug.

Not worth the stay
First room was not cleaned. Second room was a little better. Floors were not swept. Carpets had stains on them. You can hear people walking around on the floor above. The hotel definitely needs some renovations to bring it up to a good quality.

It was ok
This property has 2- 2 story buildings. No elevators in either building. Swimming pool is in 1 building and fitness central is in the other. Buildings aren't connected. Room was comfortable. Parking lot and entry to hotel from main road was bumpy and gravel filled holes.

Terrible conditions. Wires hanging from the walls and ceiling. Large holes in the walls. Dingy stained bathrooms. Stained and threadbare carpets. Door lock had been snapped off. Do not stay here.
