Two buildings with studios and condos frame palm-fringed grounds that stretch toward the shore. Leisure facilities include a pool area with children's pool, freeform splash pool, sundeck, and spa tub, as well as picnic tables and barbecues. A sauna is also on site.

The hotel's parklike oceanfront lawn includes five gas barbecues with two picnic tables, a putting green, and a large sundeck with freeform splash pool, children's wading pool, and spa tub. Other activities include volleyball and shuffleboard.

Across the lawn is Kihei's sprawling shoreline, with a beach park and four public tennis courts. The beaches of Kihei include Sugar Beach, two miles to the north, and the three Kamaole Parks, four miles to the south. Water activities include snorkeling, kayaking, surfing, and boogie boarding.

During the winter months, whales can sometimes be spotted in front of the hotel.

The three championship golf courses at Wailea are five miles away.

“Not too impressed”

Although we had a great weather while staying on Maui this condo left a lot to wish for. First of all when I booked online it was suppose to be an Ocean View condo and it was ground floor with a pool view and lots of noise coming from that pool. Also the cleanliness and condition of the condo was pretty much run down and it is in a serious need of upgrading as well as change of a cleaner because the smell of the bleach was just too much. I'm pretty sure that we will look for something else for the next time.

“Did the job! And was a nice place”

Except for not having a garlic press, the condo had plenty of towels, beach stuff, and kitchen stuff. The condo had everythinh we needed to stay like we were at home. The screen doors could use a little help, but other than that, it was great. Good walking beach right out front. Close to store but not in the middle of town traffic. Great!

Area recommendations

Kihei is closer to airport and less expensive shoppy touristy like. Lahaina is further from airport but more shops and more restaurant options.

What to pack

I totally over packed. We are an easy going, outdoor kinda family with 10 and 12 year olds. All they needed was 2 pair shorts, 2 pair board shorts, 2 shirts for 2 weeks.

Shopping

If you are a bargin shopper, go to Walmart, Costco, ABC and look before you buy. There is a big difference in price just between the three

Outdoors or beach

Makena's Big Beach was a good sand and swim beach if you can swim in big waves and shore break. Black Rock in Lahaina is an awsome snorckle beach with tons of fish and turtles everyday. But parking is an issue because there is a Hotel right on top of it. There is a nice learn to surf and take little ones beach right in Kihei in the middle of town Cove something. You can walk out so far and still be ankle deep.

“not impressed”

Location great - unit was not so good - multiple issues - stove didn't work - sink was plugged when we got there - disposal didnt' work - dishwasher quit - toilet broke - coffee maker broke - repairman left door unlocked and ajar. Unit not adquately furnished for 4 people - 2 bedroom unit with loveseat only in living room. Our friends had a different unit that was fine - just bad owners on ours.

“Looks can be deceiving”

Wasn't to sure about this condo when we arrived but as soon as we opened our door to our room...we were very surprised! It was great! We loved the location to shops, places to eat and most of all it was right on the beach. Nothing better then watching the sunsets and sunrises from the edge of the property. We will be back and will stay here for a second time!

“A good place to stay in at Maui”

“It's OK but not exactly the experience I wanted.”

There was nothing technically wrong with this condo except that it wasn't as ocean front as I expected it to be based on the description. However, because this location was in Kihei, we did do a lot of exploring on this side of the island that I doubt we would have done without the fact that we were staying at this condo. We eventually checked out a few days early (we ate the balance of the money we spent on the reservation) and went and stayed in Kaanapali at the Aston Mahana instead.

Stay in Lahaina, Kaanapali or Napili.

“Great place at a great deal with an AMAZING view and private beach!”

We stayed in unit 114 which had everything and anything you could want. I've stayed at many condos and this owner thought everything from ipod player to bug spray. The view was amazing and the beach was less than 40 feet away right outside our ground floor unit. The polynesian village luau was absolutely the BEST family oriented Luau I have attended in the 30+ yrs I've been visiting Hawaii and a 5 minute walk from this place. It's not the Hyatt or Four Seasons since it's a condo in Kihei, but the location was perfect for travelling anywhere in the island.

Area recommendations

Lahaina is great place to visit from this condo. It's 40 min drive Lot's of history Beautiful oceanviews as you walk along the many art galleries and shops Best part of all is the 2nd largest Banyan tree in the world located in the center of town.

Dining

Ono Gelato is a must! It's gelato made with produce from the island itself. My fave is :Sandy Beach made with coconut and Peanut butter. For non dairy; the coconut and cinammon was YUMMY!

“Dont stay to long”

Location was ok. Condo was ok. Front office was great, very helpfull. Pool was ok but no shade for most of the day. We stayed for 3 weeks and in that time had no maid service or cleaning. Fortunatly there was enough linnen to last us the time without washing sheets etc. Have stayed in other condos in the same price range with daily maid service. Will not return to this condo.
