Good for a beach/pool stay. Beautiful viewsPosted Oct 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
My wife and i enjoyed our stay in Oct '13. We spent three nights and enjoyed our time and the beautiful views the hotels location offers. The staff was helpful and pleasant, breakfast buffet was excellent, with many selections and very good service. The hotels beach was also very nice but bring water shows if you intend to swim since the beach is very coarse and rocky. We learned that most guests use the pool which we enjoyed much more than the beach. The pool bar was convenient and we also had a buffet luch by the pool which was excellent with many choices ranging from pasta and pizza to local seafood and shellfish. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Our one complaint was the overall condition of the hotels rooms and common areas. It is in need updating and very soon. The rooms were comfortable with great views but the furniture was old and the overall decor has seen its best days long ago.Despite this we are happy to have selected this hotel for our stay in Taormina. They offered free shuttle bus service up to the old town which was easy and convenient. We also used the towns Funicular (cable car) which wasnt far away and offered interesting views of the town and shoreline. Overall I would recommend this hotel and hope that a renovation is in its future.

Do not miss this hotelPosted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: Pool and views.
Hotel was just magnificent. From what I could see it is the best location and hotel in Taormina. It is a bit pricy but not too bad especially considering the quality of the facility. The views are spectacular. Then pool is amazing and the beach lovely however in October a bit too cool since it gets in the shade most the day but bright sun all day at the pool. The included breakfast was quite complete with a huge selection of all you can think of. The bar gives amazing views. Drinks are pricey but worth a drink to take in the ocean and Etna views. Free parking a plus also. The city is at the top of the cliffs and has a great area for shopping and literally hundreds of restaurants and I think all are great. Prices in town are not too bad and the hotel has a free buss to and from so a nice help and saves taxi fees since parking would be impossible. We took a boat ride tour arranged at the pool attendant and that was nice too. Because we had only one day we elected to skip a trip to Mt. Etna and relax at the pool all day after our week trip but a trip to Etna would have also been great but takes a full day.

The location of the hotel was stunning. Staff not very friendly, and bar/food very expensive.

Heavenly location in picturesque Taormina!Posted Jul 31, 2013
Pros: The unbeatable location, the stunning views to the north and south and the "cave" walk to the beach or pool areas.
Cons: The staff service. Attitudes are dry, uninviting and almost indifferent. A change in service attitude could catapult this hotel to 5 star status.
Location: The town of Taormina proper, is way above the ocean and easily accessible by car, or cable lift. A must see with tons of restaurants and shopping!
The Capo Taormina is a sensationally constructed hotel in possibly the most picturesque city on the Island of Sicily. You simply cannot beat the location, view and uniqueness of this hotel, perched on the rocky "capo" and descending down the cliffs to the private beach and fabulous pool and lounges. The rooms most always have a view of the ocean, some towards Naxos and some towards Isola Bella, either of which is breathtaking! The rooms have a balcony, terrace, or larger area based on price. We had a balcony and it was generous in size and more than enough, but if you can afford a larger terrace and you enjoy evenings watching the endless lights along the ocean, go for it. Now, the rest of the hotel is certainly beautiful. They have nightly entertainment on a terrace with the most spectacular view, but if you're expecting anything other than "gen pop" entertainment, make it your last stop of the evening.

Perfect for 3 days.Posted Jul 15, 2013
The hotel was nice. The pool area had a great view. There were plenty of pool chairs to lay out on. Take water socks to wear on the private beach, its a rocky beach. Take the free shuttle up the hill to Taormina for dinner. I didn't find it safe to walk anywhere from here. If you stay longer than 3 days you may get bored.

Wedding Anniversary HolidayPosted Jul 15, 2013
Pros: Loved the pool down by the sea.
Cons: Can't think of anything really.
Location: Location was perfect, especially with the free shuttle up to the town.
Hotel facilities and location were great. The free shuttle up to the town really convenient but you definitely need to book it in the morning. We had a great stay and even though we originally planned to stay elsewhere are really glad that we ended up here. Our room was spacious. We were fortunate to have a sea view room which was spectacular.

Fabulous location but needs some workPosted Jul 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
My wife and I visited Taormina for our 25th wedding anniversary and decided to give this hotel a try. You absolutely cannot beat the location of this hotel. The views from not only our room but restaurants and bars in the hotel are as good as you'll find in Taormina. The pool and beach facilities are great and very enjoyable. The pool area is in need of some maintenance work, it needs to be painted and many areas contain a lot of algae and needs to be cleaned up. Not what you would expect for a 4 star hotel. It is a fairly large hotel (I believe about 190 rooms) yet only has two small elevators that reach the lower level where the pool and beach are. We spent a good deal of time waiting our turn for elevators, which at best could hold 4-5 adults. The facility is very dated, not only in design, but equipment. The air conditioner in our room did not work very well at all, it was running but you wouldn't have known it. Overall, I would expect a bit more out of a 4 star rated hotel, however the location of such a positive that if you can handle the downsides, it is a fair option for the price paid.
