Best Hotel I've ever stayed in!Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Used free shuttle service to Taormina to go out for dinner, and the recommended restaurant was perfect for us. Towel service at private beach & pool.
Cons: Prices for cocktails/coffee/desert were very high.
Anniversary present for my wife. We had a wonderful experience. Staff was friendly and helpful. Views and amenities were spectacular.

Nice overall - 7 days is certainly enough.Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: Nice pool/jacuzzi area, great view, food and drink fine, staff efficient, attentive and polite. Reliable shuttle bus. A well run hotel.
Cons: Lack of complimentary tea/coffee, iron. Also, a beer - €6-8 for barely a half pint, take up wine instead!!
Location: Hotel beyond walking distance of Taormina. You rely on a punctual shuttle. Taormina is a nice Italian town, great Greek theatre, Naxos is 10 mins away
We stayed at the Atahotel Capotaormina for a week and it was a pretty enjoyable stay. Nice pool/jacuzzi area with great view across the Bay of Naxos. Breakfast and evening meals fine, staff efficient, attentive and polite. Courtesy shuttle bus available for running into Taormina (not really walkable) which was always regular and punctual. Nice roof terrace with easy listening entertainment late in evenings, good for relaxing. For people staying 8 days plus we'd suggest splitting your Sicilian trip between Taormina/Naxos and somewhere else - perhaps Palermo.

Nice Hotel Great Location and facilitiesPosted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: The views , beach & Pool - Breakfast good with great views of Etna Upgraded on arrival free of charge to a Sea View
Cons: The lifts are sometimes slow due to the hotel being busy
Location: Plenty to do nearby but you do need transport to get there as is slightly isolated in location
Great hotel a little out of main town of Taormina - need to use bus provided by hotel or taxi to get there But well organised large hotel with all the facilities - a great beach and separate lovely pool I would use this hotel again

Beautiful views.Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Beauitful views from the rooms, bar, restaurants. Food. Caves under the hotel.
Cons: The look - needs updating and some new decor would help.
Location: Taormina is beautiful with some nice shops and a few lovely bars that stay open late. It also has an amazing Greek theatre that is over 2000 yrs old.
We enjoyed our stay here over 3 nights. The location by the sea and with the views was amazing. Getting to the town of Taormina was ok, the 10 mins walk to the funicular wasn't ideal on the busy road and is not recommeneded at night. The hotel itself was very nice but a little dated and could do with a spruce up. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable.

Nice hotel in capotaorminaPosted May 28, 2014
Everywhere you are in the hotel, it has Amazing view 360 degrees from this hotel. We stayed at the ocean view room. There are Free shuttle to Cute little town Taormina, which is great but it'll be great if it runs hourly.

Terrible excursion experience.Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: Fabulous views and outdoor facilities. If you want the beach and pool experience this is the place to go. Staff very nice and accommodating.
Cons: New carpeting and updating interior. Carpets were stained and dirty
Location: Taormina is historic, close to Mt Etna and plenty of great restaurants and shops.
I had a bad experience with a boat tour that was arranged with the pool staff. A very small boat, similar to a row boat but with an engine, picked us up for an excursion to the blue grotto. The water was a bit rough but they did not seem concerned. The guide spoke no English at all even though we are English speaking. We thought we would get someone we could communicate with. During the trip back from the grotto the water was very rough and the boat hit a wave and I went flying off the bench and landed on the floor. My head and back hit the wooden bench behind me. It was a terrifying experience as I at first could not get up. My head and back hurt very much. Eventually, I was able to get up and was brought to shore. The attendant was very nice and gave me ice and asked if I wanted to go to the hospital. I declined and it took a few hours for me to feel better. I was very worried about my injuries but knew it would be a very long and difficult experience going to the hospital and I wasn't feeling up to it. The attendants checked on my throughout the afternoon. which was great. The problem I have with the situation is that we should have been accommodated with a suitable boat. If we had been this accident would not have happened. I assume they also realized that as well because we never saw the boat again but we did see regular excursion boats of a suitable size on the water bringing people to the grotto. Very scary experience!
