The intoxicating beauty of the view defines the elegant villa, with Mount Etna seen from some rooms, and from the breakfast room/terrace, where they serve a generous breakfast. We had a room with a spectacular vista and a terrace to savour the panorama, the only minor caveat being intermitent wifi. The lovely pool also boasts this panoramic scene. Staff are both obliging and friendly, with excellent language skills. Just up the road is the picturesque historic hillside citadel of Castelmola, which offers a superb variety of eateries. Down the road is the jewel of Sicily- Taormina- which never fails to charm. It was our fifth visit, this time just out of season, and so the numerous trips on offer to various parts of Sicily hadn't yet begun, but are worth doing. The bus service to Taormina is reliable, and preferable to mountain driving. It is truly a little piece of paradise.
