I have 2 words Best Hotel. They are warm, happy to help you and direct you to where you need to go. Wonderful food at the restaurant and concerts sometimes. Plus a million dollar view of the ocean breath taking. I think I might move there.

Good value for Miami Beach

Posted Aug 15, 2014
The hotel is ok. I was expecting more. I checked in around 4:30pm and waitied in a long line. Staff were not friendly but I found most people in Miami Beach to be rather cold & snobish so I wasn't surprised. The beach was dirty and packed. We went to Key West for a day and wished we would've stayed there instead. Again I was not impressed with Miami Beach.

Newport Beachside

Pros: The tiki lounge in the pool area. Good food, and friendly staff
Cons: Staff to take classes as to how to treat guests. Customer Service extremely lacking. And the staff that was helpful were 2. Tiki Lounge staff only.
Location: OK.
RUDE RUDE RUDE people., not accomodating, soda machines out of soda on each floor., Reported, and they never fixed. Had to walk across the street to the gas station to get soda. The little area where they sell soda, were out of my brand, and they were closed in the evening. Our room was left untouched for 2 days. Was confronted by the gift shop attendant. Extremely rude. Was a big man. I felt threatened. Told me that sometimes 'Bad things happen to people who walk by the pool. They might slip and fall and get hurt'. In summation, he was telling me to watch myself. The conceirge told us a price for a shuttle, and the bell captain told us it was a lesser amount. Finally, we found a cab driver to accomodate us for the lesser price. Didn't trust anyone there. Attitude by the maid attendants, we very rude. If we were still there when she was going to clean, and we asked her to return in an hour, she made rude comments tht she was inconvenienced. We had to make sure we were out before they came, to get a clean room

Horrible

Posted Jul 29, 2014
I booked a three day two night visit at the Newport. When I arrived there, they told me that they had a problem with the room and it was out of their hands. So they moved me to another hotel NOT another room but ANOTHER hotel. I Iater found out by a employee that works there, that they sold my room at a double price to some more guess. I don't think that was right and I felt misguided. I had a very bad experince with them.!!!

Overbooked

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: I liked the room which had a view of the pool, and partial view of the ocean.
Cons: The honoring of bookings, it seems that this hotel has a reputation of overbooking and having nonmembers/patrons stay at other resorts.
Location: It's 30 minutes from Fort Lauderdale and South Beach. Restaurants and stores are within walking distance. And the bus stop is located nearby.
I booked my vacation in February, so I never thought that I would run into problems with accomodations. Well I arrived as scheduled on July 19th, and was informed by the front desk that there was problems with the rooms so I would be staying at the Marena's down the street overnight. I was given cash to pay for my stay and the cab ride to the other hotel and that I would be given vouchers for breakfast and lunch for the entire week due to the mishap. The next morning I was to return to Newport at 11:00am, upon arrival the person expediting my accomodations was the Director of the front desk and she advised that she wanted to ensure that I received one of the better rooms so that I should go and have breakfast and return to the desk afterwards. Well, after breakfast my husband and I toured the hotel, so as to give them more than enough time to find a room for us. When we returned to the desk, the Director had found a room for us and asked us to wait a few minutes until it was cleaned. We waited again but for at least 45 minutes, I decided to view the room first without our luggage just in case the room was not to our liking. We proceeded to the room to find that it had not been touched, it was an oceanview which was an upgrade since I had booked a standard room with partial view of the ocean. Returning to the front desk, we advised the Director of the situation and she quickly gave us another room which was what I had booked initially.
