For the most part we have excellent guests and rarely have an issue with any of the above mentioned (smoking, vaping, pet policy, messes, etc). However, on the occasion, we have guests that completely disrespect our property, therefore, we needed to institute stricter policies. We love sharing our home on the beautiful Penns Creek and we want to continue sharing the wonders of the wildlife and the beauty of the mountains. If you have any questions regarding the policies please do not hesitate to send us an inquiry before booking your stay.
We look forward to having you stay at Trout Run Cottage.

So Good I Want to Keep it a Secret
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. A very beautiful setting. No artificial light at night, just the stars. Comfortable, squeaky clean, very well equipped supplies throughout the property. Perfect hot tub in the screen-in porch overlooking the water. The owners, Bill & Mary, made all of the instructions super clear. We hope to be back again!

What a great stay!
If you are looking for a quite stay at a wonderful little fishing cabin. This is it. The house was spotless and yard was freshly cut. While I spent some time fishing. The kids decided to take a quick soak in the hot tub. And Bill and Mary are fantastic hosts! For the fishermen - It's s great stream to fish. Bring gear for trout and smallmouth bass. Recommend metal studs for anyone wading. The stream has a rocky and slick bottom. Good luck!

R&R
The perfect place for some well needed R&R. Enjoyed the hot tub and especially having Penns Creek right there. Unfortunately we came right after several days of heavy rain and didn’t get much fishing in (water was too rough). We did take a few short drives to the lakes in the area. My dog loved it and first time we saw her enjoy the water we will definitely come visit again in summer or fall. The mountains are beautiful in the fall. Thank you Bill and Mary for being such wonderful hosts. Oh and don’t forget to visit the shade mountain winery and the Amish market nearby

Perfect Little Hideaway
We had a perfect weekend. The house was just as advertised. The babbling brook was picture perfect while we also received snow so it was even more beautiful with the snow, the creek and the rolling hills and trees. The owners were even quick to clear the driveway and the sidewalk before we awoke. Great little breweries nearby that we loved. It is definitely something my husband and I will come back to in the summer and winter months. Thank you Mary and Bill

Perfection
Our first stay at Trout Run was exactly what I had hoped for. The cabin was spotless, well-stocked, and felt very private. We enjoyed the hot tub, lounging on the couch, cooking, and watching the water in the creek. We saw a great blue heron in flight twice! The weather was cold and very windy--not surprising for January in the mountains, but the cabin was cozy inside. I highly recommend the cabin, and look forward to visiting again.

Penn's Creek burbles just off the screened in porch. A hot tub. Kayaks. A grill. A firepit... With all this, we probably didn't need the internet, but Bill and Mary had that too. : ) Thanks for a great stay.

Wonderful Stay!!
The cottage was just as described and better!! Everything was very clean and comfortable. The screened in porch was ideal for eating dinner outside. The river behind the cottage was not very deep so our small boys had fun walking through it looking for treasures (I.e. frogs, fish and insects). We used the fire pit nightly. The owners were so nice and helpful…so easy to work with!! We would highly recommend this cottage and hope to stay again in the future!! So relaxing!!

CLEAN!!! COMFY! GORGEOUS VIEW!!! FUN!!!
We stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful, relaxing time. The view of the huge creek is just gorgeous and the sound is intoxicating! The house is so cute inside and sooooooo clean! We had everything we needed to cook all of our meals there. The Weber Grill was perfect. The Fire-pit was so much fun! S'mores, of course! We could hear all the huge bullfrogs calling to each other and fireflies were winking at us while owls were hooting. Otherwise, it was completely QUIET! Beds and couches were clean and comfy! Bathroom had tons of towels! The surrounding countryside is so picturesque! Farms and tons of breathtaking views over every hill! The town nearby is just so quaint and beautiful. Lots of antiquing nearby too. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!!!

We saw a bald eagle fly up the creek both days we were there. Plus the fact that our hosts made sure you had everything you needed. Thanks Dave and Mary for a great weekend. See you again!!!
