"We’ve stayed at a lot of VRBOs in a lot of locations, and Casa Castaway ranks right up there as one of the best! It was so thoughtfully appointed. Tons of towels, plenty of toilet paper and dish soap for the stay. The kitchen has everything you need. Bathrooms even had cotton balls and q-tips. It was like being at home. Board games and card games that they kids enjoyed. We even found some liquid band-aid that probably saved us a trip to the urgent care when a kid cut her foot on some rocks. I even noticed car seats/boosters for young kids. Loved that Dominic was close by for any questions. Panterra was always waiting for us in the evenings when we got home from an excursion. She was the kids’ favorite part of the house, second was the pool! We felt very safe here. Overall can’t say enough about this place. If you’re thinking about it, don’t hesitate, just book it!"

"This was our first visit to Costa Rica and we had a wonderful time! The house was very clean and comfortable… it was very nice to get a mid-week cleaning included with our visit. Alexa was super helpful in answering all of our questions - she helped arrange a rental car and schedule an ATV tour, gave us some dining recommendations… we really appreciated her assistance! Cooked two great meals at home - the fish market in Brasilito is not to be missed and we enjoyed fresh mahi and red snapper, shrimp… so good! The entire family enjoyed the pool and our only suggestion might be to trim the bushes a little more so you can take in the gorgeous view while floating in the pool. Overall an amazing vacation and we hope to return one day soon!"

"Liked the propert landscaping. Didn't like that the condo we stayed in was infested with large ants Told the guard at the gate about the ants and the condo was sprayed. Many ants died but when we left the infestation was worse than ever. Didn't like that there was no communication with management and the office was always closed. "

"We knew the Reserva Conchal for the previous Christmas time, which is why we returned. The Reserva is a beautiful and fun place. But this place elevated our experience to the roof. Greg is the best host we have encountered over many years renting places. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures. It will easily accommodate 8 people (we were 6), and the kitchen is fully equipped. Super clean, very modern, spotless. I don't know what else to say; thank Greg for helping us celebrate a beautiful Christmas and New Year time."

"This lovely property is elevated at the highest point in the Dos Rios section of Mar Vista. Although this affords stunning views & sunsets, it does make it difficult to walk anywhere from the Villa. Prepare to chill and relax & you'll have a fab time with family. We are 11 adults and 2 babies--note: each unit is nicely appointed, but neither really had a kitchen large enough to accomodate all of the guests. As well, the dining-room table has two benches instead of chairs so it was not comfortable to have prolonged meals there. A second dish washer is needed in the main house. CoffeeMakers not great quality. We did have an issue and ran out of water one night. The Mar Vista Concierge service were very responsive and the water problem was remedied after about 6 hours but it did cause us some stress. Lastly, although the concierge, Alexa, was very nice, we were very disappointed on our last day when, instead of a pre-ordered Sprinter arrived to take us back at the airport, we were assigned two broken down vans. The luggage had to be tied to the roof of one with a piece of string, and the drivers were distracted. This Villa did fall short of a 5 star ranking due to the water prob, the cooks (who left a mess and seemed in a rush) and the poor transportation. All in all, we are grateful to have had a safe and fun trip filled with special memories. This Villa lived up to this goal & that is what counts most."
