Expecting the truePosted Aug 16, 2013
Cons: Expend money on carpets specially and bathrooms.
Location: The coast, the class and the people is the most attractive for tourist but all need soon or later to replace items for more new and more hygienic one
I expect parking for my car, Hotel have only 20 spaces for 40 plus rooms in a city that the biggest problem is parking. Disappointed of the premises, not as luxury and comfort as announce at all. Smell some areas of mold. Employees quite professionals but not a really competition for another Inns or Hotels that are mediocre. The buffet a rip off totally, bacon overcook, 2 kinds of fruit, the scramble eggs cold and flavorless, poor on items, nice presentation that's it.

Well LocatedPosted Jul 12, 2013
Cons: Someone at the front door to help with baggage.
Location: Centrally located for beach walk, shopping, and restaurants.
This is an excellent place to stay because of the location. It is just blocks to the beach Nd centrally located for shopping and restaurants.

Classic Old HotelPosted Jul 1, 2013
Pros: In the heart of Carmel and an easy walk to the beach.
Cons: Hotel renovation.
Location: Good location in the middle of shopping and dining.
I had visited there years ago and found it charming. However, it is not "charming" as a guest in terms of facilities. There is no elevator and we were booked on the 3rd floor. Only one room with twins available and traveling with a friend. Climbing the "switchback" stairs was not a pleasant experience. The only other availability at ground level was a room for handicapped guests (we are not handicapped, just older!) with an ancient, noisy air conditioner and no windows. They did bring in a fan, also noisy. Also, the room shared the outside entry to the dining room so people coming and going all day. We were charged extra for the room.

Beautiful Historic InnPosted Jun 20, 2013
Pros: Location, elegant decor superb staff and excellent restaurant
Cons: Frankly I would not change a thing
Location: Gallery viewing, shopping, driving down the coast on Highway 1, Point Lobos, Monterrey, 3 Hours North fo Sean Simeon and Hearst Castle,
My wife and I stayed six nights at the Pine Inn in mid-June and the atmosphere is simply lovely as are all the hotel and restaurant employees. The location is the very best in Carmel proper--only 2 blocks from the beach. This hotel is not for people who are careless about their attire. It is not stuffy but this is not a T-shirt kind of place but then neither is Carmel. It is very comfortable, the rooms are charming and elegant. The hotel does not allow pets so it is very clean and quiet. People from all over the world stay here so conversations with fellow guests are always interesting.

Nice location and helpful staffPosted Jun 19, 2013
Restrooms are a little dated and the walls are thin. The location was very close to the beach and our room had an amazing view!

Great stay in downtown CarmelPosted Feb 25, 2013
Pros: View, location, staff
Location: Walk outside and experience all that downtown Carmel has to offer!
We loved our stay at Pine Inn. We had a room with a beautiful ocean view that was well-kept. The staff, location and atmosphere is fantastic. If you're looking for a place to stay in Carmel, I'd easily recommend it. Easy walking distance to everything you'd want to see in town - restaurants, shops and the beach. The one downside is parking - but that's not unique to the Inn. They have their own first-come, first-serve parking lot, but there aren't quite enough spaces to go around between the two hotels that share it. This should in no way dissuade you from staying here though!

Couples Romantic HotelPosted Feb 13, 2013
Pros: location, decor
Cons: very small rooms
Location: surrounded by shops and restaurants
Beautiful, quaint hotel. Very cozy and warm. Perfect location. Great for couples but not a family hotel. The rooms are very small as well as the beds. There's almost too much furniture in the room. But such inviting decor and the lobby is beautiful.

Skip the buffet breakfast...Posted Aug 8, 2010
Bell staff were efficient and friendly. There are no elevators, but bell staff handled getting all bags upstairs to the room. Room was comfortable, lobby VERY red! On-site restaurant was excellent for dinner with interesting entrees and wonderful wait staff, but breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired - we wound up going down the street to a nearby bakery for breakfast after seeing the dry scrambled eggs and greasy bacon on the buffet.
