Nice location, unit needs some TLC
We enjoyed our stay at Napili Shores. The unit was clean and the lanai had a nice ocean view. The owner was very responsive. However, the unit itself needs some TLC. The screen door barely works, the toaster burns everything and the kitchen was lacking some items that would be useful. We also ran out of toilet paper and the front office couldn’t help and it wasn’t delivered for 8+ hours. Not a big deal but I’d rather not have to go buy my own TP while on vacation. Also, absolutely no toiletries in the unit so bring anything you need. The unit did have beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, beach towels and a cooler which was nice.

Everything was great and we didn't want to leave.
This unit is perfect for the 4 of us. Easy barefoot walk to Napili beach and even Kapalua beach. Truly we didn't want to leave. If i had to find something to be critical about it would be that a couple of the frying pans could use replacement, but this very nit-picky. That's how good this unit at Napili Shores is. We are continually looking for availability of this unit and will be back!

We have been fortunate to be able to make almost annual trips to Maui for more than 40 years. Napili Shores Resort is always our destination and for the last several years we have enjoyed this specific unit. Great style and very responsive hosts.

Fantastic Family Stay with Breathtaking Ocean Views
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely condo! Despite its small size, the condo was well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The ocean view was absolutely breathtaking, and the amenities and grounds were delightful for our family with two little kids. The Gazebo restaurant on the resort property was a great option for delicious food - we recommend calling ahead for takeout to avoid the crowds. For any necessary groceries or coffee, there's a convenient 3-minute drive. Napili Beach is amazing and just steps away from the resort. The overall vibe was fantastic and very family-friendly. We can't recommend this place enough! In addition, the condo provided beach chairs, an umbrella, and everything else we needed for a perfect day at the beach.

Napili Shores is a perfect location for our family. This 1bdrm unit had what we needed for our stay including extras like beach chairs, small cooler, equipped kitchen (would prefer non Teflon pans) and more. No frills but just right. Only “issue”, which really wasn’t horrible but could have been cleaner on the surface areas (toilet, tables, appliance facings) -in the big picture though, we’re absolutely satisfied with our stay and are grateful we got to stay here. We wish we could’ve stayed in the unit longer and we’re suuuuper sad to leave! …Oh, as stated in the units description, the shower and toilet are on raised surfaces so individuals who are impaired should absolutely take note. Mahalo🌺

Great location, lots of issues
Good ocean view across the inner garden area. Napili Shores is a well maintained, lovely condo resort in one of the best locations in Maui. Sadly, there were issues that really impacted our stay in H262. We had Maui winter weather while we were there (obviously no one's fault! It happens!), so we really wanted to use the TV for streaming movies etc. A nightmare. The TV/modem/router connection was an antiquated nest of wires and devices that has likely been tinkered with by guests often. There was basically no internet/TV function . We called the maintenance number the first night, then waited 2 days (and more calls) for someone to come. He was a general maintenance guy and knew nothing about fixing the electronics. When we got a call back from the owner (on day 3) her response was to acknowledge that it is an old system, and say that she plans to get a new TV. No help for us, and no indication that she was going to fix the connection issues! There are no working reading lights in the bedroom. There are switches on the sides of the wall cabinets next to the bed, and tiny lights underneath the cabinets but they don't work. The owner's response to this: oh no, you need to use the wall switch at the door to the bedroom, then just tap the glass on the fixtures a few times and they will come on. Yes they did, but then flickered and went off again. Useless, and likely a safety hazard. The only other light in the bedroom is a lamp on the chest of drawers which is not controlled by a wall switch. When we arrived both A/C units were on. The wall thermostats weren't functioning. We took them off the wall and opened them, looked for replacement batteries in the unit—none to be found. Finally with some tinkering with the almost dead batteries we were able to get the AC off. The remodeling is aging, particularly in the shower. The rain shower hangs so low that the shower door hits it when you open it unless you are very careful. The pipe to the rain shower comes through an unpainted drywall repair in the ceiling, with no “escutcheon plate”. The condo is advertised as having a bed for 2 in the living room. This is a hide-a-bed which was unusable due to the thin mattress, through which the metal supports could be felt. The couch itself was extremely uncomfortable, the cushions are rock hard and the metal supports can be felt even when sitting on it. I am sad to leave a negative review, but the owner needs to fix the problems and get better local support.

We are sorry you felt this way about our beautiful unit. We as owners have just left the unit. There is a new LG tv installed 55 inch. It has all internet and apps including Netflix ect installed. When this was brought to our attention we had someone buy and install the TV within 2 days of being made aware. Sorry that you had checked out by then. You were the first guests to complain about the TV connection. The ac unit is very easy to use and was in great working order when we arrived and used it throughout our stay. This is a building issue and maintenance is always very available to help with this. Sorry it wasn’t in timely manner these tenants demanded. We also just installed two beautiful Koa wood fans that you would have been able to enjoy during your stay, one was in the family room and another in the bedroom. We also had a new hansgrohe rain shower installed in the shower which we love and makes the shower experience amazing. It also has a hansgrohe wall mounted hand wand which makes it more like a spa shower. Sorry ceiling wasn’t painted after rain shower install but does not affect its new working condition. The internet is working fine in the unit Due to humidity sometimes the under-counter lighting is finicky and the bulbs can be touched and they work fine We also just removed the old sofa and purchased a new pullout queen sofa that was brought in while we were staying in the unit so that issue is handled. We have addressed these issue this renter had some concerns about. Being on an island things don’t move quickly but when we are made aware of things we get them done as soon as we can. We just had an amazing family vacation in our lovely unit and enjoy our stays every time we come to Napili. We take a lot of pride in our beautiful unit. We love other families creating memories and them enjoying our unit as well Thanks Ryan and Jen (owners)

The location was great—the complex was busy and lively but we didn’t hear the neighbors too much. The beach was literally a three minute walk away, and the unit had great supplies like chairs and an umbrella. We had an issue with cleanliness but the owners were very responsive about it. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Nice old Hawaii style. I enjoy nature and less development so this area was perfect - beautiful end of the island. The house had all the amenities that you would need for a fun time for all ! Newly remodeled. The one tough thing is our neighbor below had several people gather out front and a baby that woke up crying very early each morning. :( I guess something you have no control over but it was loud for us. All else was amazing and the place met all expectations ! I want to go back all ready and I am on the plane for home. Napili is the best !

It is clean, well supplied (snorkel gear, chairs, cooler), great ocean view, well decorated and the BEST Shower. The owners take great pride in this unit and it shows. If it's available during your time slot -- BOOK IT!

My family has been staying at various properties at Napili Shores for many years. The location is lovely with nice views and beaches that are walking distance. This particular unit provided boogie boards, a beach umbrella, beach chairs, and snorkeling equipment which was very convenient. The front desk was very helpful. The bed was comfortable. I'm sorry to say that I cannot recommend this particular property. With the additional fees tacked on, the unit was significantly more than the base price per night. This was not a property appropriate to that fee.. The unit advertises as recently renovated (when?); the unit is actually run down (glass slat missing from living room window, broken kitchen faucet, old coffee table and kitchen table, chipped kitchen countertop, unable to get TV to work with provided instructions, beach chair with torn seat, cob webs hanging from ceiling fan, shower glass walls not clean, inadequate dishwasher supplies, the informational binder for the unit is torn, rusted, unprofessional, unhelpful). The unit advertises cleaning practices of a minimum 2 day vacancy between guest stays yet the place had not yet been cleaned at our check-in time; this is concerning during Covid times. The owner responded promptly to my inquiries.

We have replaced the kitchen faucet after your departure once it was brought to our attention We have mentioned to the cleaners about your concerns and will have them make improvements and restock dishwasher supplies. .Also new fans are being installed in both rooms in the following week .We will let the complex know about the single missing louvre and they will have it replaced. Perfect Location
We love Napili Bay and were excited to share it with our kids. The condo was exactly as shown and the management was easy to work with and accommodated our family of 5. The restaurants at the resort were very good and a short walk to 2 amazing snorkel sites. My 2 suggestions for the condo owner would be a non-slip mat in the bathroom for the shower as it gets wet and slippery coming off of the step in the shower and updating the mattress for the pull out couch. All in all it was a wonderful place to stay and we can't wait to come back! Mahalo

Star Unit at Napili Shores
We've stayed at Napili Shores multiple times. We love the location and access to all that is nearby. This is the best unit experience so far. The photos do not do justice. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Only complaint is that the listing should mention that a resort fee/key fee is required, to the tune of about $90, including tax. It was a suorize at check-in.

Thank you for the kind words about the unit. I am sorry that you were not aware of the key fee. There is mention of it at the very end of the property description. The fee is $75 USD and, depending on your home currency, after taxes and exchange, the price may vary.

Great Location
Great Condo, well updated. Only issue we had is the beds are terrible. The mattress is so worn down that you are basically just sleeping on springs..even the pull out inflatable mattress felt like sleeping on springs/frame. The dishwasher basically doesn't function properly anymore. Otherwise everything else was great, you can see the ocean while sitting on the patio. It had all the necessities for a great vacation.

In March, the owner were finally able to come visit their unit for the first time since COVID started. They have replaced the bedroom mattress with a new high end Sealy mattress. I am sorry you found the inflatable mattress uncomfortable but the pull out couch has the most comfortable custom air inflatable mattress on the market. Most people love the customization this mattress offers. The owners have installed a brand new Grohe rain showerhead in the walk-in shower as well as attending to all repairs and maintenance items required in the unit.

Great place, great location
We really enjoyed it time there. The ocean view from the balcony (which a couple of times was like whale watching as they were out in the visible waters breaching!), walk through the complex to 2 pools, 1 hot tub, the beach, multiple barbecues, and two different restaurants. The unit looks exactly like it does in the listing. The only irritation I had was with the ants. While I find them to be super common just about everywhere I have ever traveled, especially beach locations, it is a nusance. There was ant killer under the sink in the kitchen but I'm always apprehensive to use bug killer where food is prepared. I used some dish soap and water to kill the ones I could see and it worked pretty well. Though I seriously advise against leaving open food on the counter. Otherwise the unit was great! Plenty of towels, games in the cabinets, you can even hear the ocean waves while you lie in bed. We enjoyed it.

Ants in tropical areas are very common although super tiny and usually common when food is left out. It is still something we will let the complex know and make sure they get the unit treated asap. Glad you loved your stay and look forward to seeing you back soon.

Ideal spot! Book this one.
Second floor apartment with fabulous balcony view of the ocean. Plenty of space in living room/kitchen area, and the one bedroom. Step up in the bathroom to the shower and the toilet is a few inches high and unusual, but not a big deal. If that is a problem, then so is the lengthy stairs up to the second floor. Resort has two wonderful pools with one right on the edge of the shore. Enjoyed terrific breakfast at the uncrowded Kitchen 5315 restaurant at the east end of the resort. It was not nearly as crowded as the small Gazebo restaurant at the west end by the pool, where there is always a long line for eat in or take out at breakfast or lunch. New and whisper quiet separate AC systems in living area and bedroom. Would rebook here in a minute. Too bad that we live in Western NY so that Hawaii is not an every year destination!

Great location, so-so accommodations
We've been staying at Napili Shores for 23 years. This time, we were unable to get our usual unit, found this one on VRBO, reasonably priced, so reserved it. The good: finishes are relatively new (I'd guess 5-10 years old) and the location is beautiful. The not-so-good: As other reviewers have mentioned, the shower and bathroom are the oddest things; almost a 1-foot step down from the shower (which only gets about half the water on the showeree, the rest dribbles down next to the wall), and a 10 inch step down (or up) from the toilet. I'm surprised the owner hasn't been sued by someone slipping and being seriously injured or dying. The step-ups are not for the feint-of-heart or the over 60 crowd. Not to be outdone, the long but narrow two-sided sink is, well, interesting. It's all in a single bathroom with no door between shower, toilet, and vanity. The couch is indeed horrible, as others have written. So there's really nowhere to sit in the unit other than on the patio. A major metal bar greets your cheeks, and the cushions have no padding. It is literally unsittable. And the couch is on the wall facing away from the ocean, unlike most of the units at Napili, where folks like to put the couches on the opposite wall to view the lovely ocean. There is a stereo receiver that is in the instructions as part of the TV, but while it seems to power up and can make toast or fry an egg (it's a fire hazard), it doesn't otherwise seem to work. But the worst is the lack of cleanliness. It was dirty. The floors didn't seem to have ever been mopped...after 30 minutes of being barefoot in paradise, you'll find the soles of your feet as black as the lava. The fridge had a very odd smell, and no, it wasn't the old food that was in it, my wife eventually figured out it smelled like Swiffer. Indeed, there were Swiffer wet mops in the unit, and that's what the inside of the fridge was cleaned with. Apparently the inside of the fridge gets mopped, but not the floor. Just to round things out, the mattress seems to be one of those very soft mattresses that comes all rolled-up in a box. I think it could easily be put back in the box if it was around. It ended up not being as I expected - I was expecting to wake up with a frozen back, but somehow didn't. All in all, the location was great, but this unit needs some serious changes before we'll ever consider staying there again.

Very beautiful views, well stocked kitchen, beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels, boogie boards, beach cooler - I mean they really had it all! The bed was comfy, the place was very clean and a beautiful retreat to step away from reality! We are excited to have booked another stay in May. We give this place our highest recommendation. I have been staying at Napili Kai for years but was excited to try this side of the bay for the convenience of Napili plaza, gazebo and price. Absolutely worth it in every way!

Napili Shores is convenient to beaches, snorkeling, and hiking. It’s a quiet, family-friendly property that we’ve enjoyed for years. Unit H-262 is ideally situated on the resort’s shady side with fantastic views of Napili Bay and the lower pool. The unit itself is nice; refurbished in a modern European style with a neutral palette and some small decor nods to tropical style. Not typical Hawaiian vibrancy or rattan tropical but nice. We found several areas in need of some repair or care: Condo was surface clean but needed some attention to detail (mirrors, under bed and couch, floors overall, appliances interiors and exteriors). Kitchen faucet loose, kitchen cabinet lazy Susan broken, plasticware mismatched and minimal, non-stick pans scratched to the point we did not use them. As noted in the listing, the shower step up (maybe 8-9 inches) could be a challenge, but there is also a slightly smaller, yet significant step up to the toilet as well. The rain-shower feature in bath (and additional shower heads) not functioning correctly The unit has tile floors that can be slippery when wet, which caused some concerns by the lanai (balcony) area. We personally found the couch uncomfortable for sitting, but did not use it for sleeping. Bottom line, you’re in Hawaii and we spent nearly all our time out and enjoying Maui or on the unit’s lanai. We would rent this unit again but hope these details get resolved as traveling resumes.

Great condo in a lovely, low key resort in one of the nicest places on the planet to kick back. The unit itself is ideally placed for a great view of the ocean and the lovely landscaping of the resort property, although families with very small children may find downstairs more appealing.

We loved our stay here and highly recommend this condo. The beds were all very comfortable (including the sofa pullout which is rare). It is very nice and updated. Even the towels felt nice and new. The view is unbelievable from the deck and the snorkeling at the nearby beach was so great. My kids were able to see turtles which I guess is pretty common at this beach. We will definitely rent here again! Highly recommend!! I never needed to communicate with the manager so I don’t know how to rate that.

A little slice of Heaven in Napili Bay!
We absolutely loved our stay at Napili Shores! The kitchen was top-notch and well-stocked, the view from our lanai was breathtaking and the grounds at Napili Shores were beautiful. We walked on the beach every morning, swam with turtles and boogie boarded in the afternoons. We loved how well equipped the room was with snorkel gear, boogie boards and books. We loved every bite of our breakfasts at the Gazebo (located inside-site). We will be back next year! Mahalo!

Excellent condo!
We've stayed in the Napili area and on Maui many times, and this condo was by far our favorite. Amazing ocean views from the lanai. Mere steps to the Gazebo restaurant (you can easily monitor the line and figure out how early you want to queue up). Clean, modern look and an open space made it feel roomy. Lots of snorkeling and beach equipment provided (my 7 year old used equipment there and went out in the ocean for the first time). It's a short walk to two pools - one heated, one not. During our visit the heated one was closed for a few days unfortunately, but not much you can do about that. We love Napili for the easy access to the Kapalua Coastal trail and wonderful snorkeling at Honolua Bay and Kapalua. It's also just a very laid back place and beach. Our main question was how would Maui be in a covid world? Answer - as great as ever. There were fewer people than normal but visitors are definitely coming back. And in our experience everyone wore masks in indoor places like the aquarium and grocery stores. Highly recommend!

Great, not crowded resort. Lovely partial ocean view. No AC, which I didn’t realize before getting there. The room itself is updated, high ceilings, great shower, plenty of towels, kitchen supplies, boogie boards. Couldn’t sleep in past 7:30 because it was too loud outside and too warm, but we gladly were up and doing things by then anyways. Very convenient and easy walk to Napili Beach, which was not crowded and felt very safe.

Beautiful uncrowded beach!
Had a great 9 nights! Most important thing to say is that the pull out couch did get a new mattress!!! The bad part is we did not realize it was self inflating by the flip of a switch till over halfway through our stay. Our boys 4 and 8 didn’t mind but if a teenager or adult wants to sleep on it inflation is a must. Super comfortable once inflated so disregard previous reviews saying the mattress was terrible. Agreed with others that the mattress in the master was too soft. Our only other gripe was the lack of spatulas, (bring one if you plan on doing much cooking, seriously) towels and TP which are very necessary for a 9 night stay. Lanai was beautiful. Best family vacation the 4 of us have had to date! Cheers!

I gave this condo 4-stars primarily based on the great location in Napili Shores complex and the location within the complex providing awesome views of the ocean, whales and Napili Bay. I always try to be completely honest with my reviews, so I apologize if I offend anyone, but I feel that the honest reviews are what we are all looking for. First the positives.....VIEWS, wow, we lived on the Lanai when in the room, saw tons of whale breaches and fin slaps every morning when drinking our Kona coffee. The kitchen was pretty well stocked but could have used a couple spatulas and a few other missing utensils, not a big deal. The one bedroom is definitely the way to go vs a Studio, loved having a dresser and separate room to keep stuff and sleep. The bathroom was very nice but a little odd with the large step up to the shower (large) and toilet - assume this was designed to accommodate the plumbing changes when remodeled. Shower was huge and a bonus along with a double sink, very nice! Now the "opportunities for improvement".......The rain shower head was dated and leaking pretty bad when trying to use it, so we just used the other head which was fine. I will be honest, the condo overall was a bit "worn". We have stayed in 8 different condos on this property and this was in the top 2 that "needed some TLC". The queen bed was basically a very soft mattress (old?) with a 3-4" thick memory foam pad on top, like sleeping on a soft marshmallow. Not comfortable at all for 9 nights and we were very disappointed with it (and my wife is a 35 on our sleep number bed at home). The couch in the living room was as hard as a rock, lumpy and very "used", needs replacing IMO. I know that your best time in Hawaii is not spent in the condo, and I fully agree. However, it is nice to get a good nights sleep at minimum. I'm not sure why condos don't spend more on a very nice bed, thats one of the most important things many are using the place for (besides cooking and bathing). Overall, we simply LOVED the location of this condo and views from it, simply grand!! With a little TLC on the bed and couch, this place could be a 5 star property for sure! Thanks for letting us experience Maui once again !!

A lovely location but not meant for more than two.
Napila Shores has been a wonderful location for our family for our many vacations to Maui. This is the first time we stayed in this unit. It is clean and updated, with a nice kitchen and bathroom, and nicely located on the well kept property. I have given the unit a low rating because of the quality of the couch/sofabed mattress in the living room. It was so unacceptable that my children had to sleep on the floor. Not what I expected for the daily rate that we paid! I would suggest that the unit be advertised for two individuals, not more. Additionally, there were no boogie boards in the unit as advertised. Overall, the unit is very nice with the exception of the living room couch and bed.

Thank you for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated. We have ordered a new mattress/box springs for our couch to ensure our guests are provided with the most comfortable sleep while staying in our home away from home. Update as of Jan 2019: A new frame for the couch was installed along with a new blowup air mattress. The air mattress electronically inflates/deflates with the press of a button and has a nice quilted cover.

beautiful condo, stunning sunsets!
Highly recommend this remodeled, upgraded, ocean view unit. Having stayed at Napili Shores many times before we were familiar with all the amenities and great location of the property. For 2 people this was exceptionally roomy and we never got tired of sitting on the Lanai and watching the view and whales!

Easy to love location
Beautifully maintained grounds and low key atmosphere away from crowds of kanapalli make this location perfect for family or couples. This upstairs unit clean and well stocked, but not good for more than 2 guests . Agree with other reviews that lumpy bumpy sofa not comfortable ( sit or sleep), but who goes to Maui to sit on sofa? Great views and pleasant breeze from balcony. Had one minor problem with shower head that owner promptly fixed. One curious thing. If you like to read in bed, bring a book light. No bedside lighting.

Great location, amenities and nice space
Amazing location, walking distance to the beach, snorkeling and restaurants. The property had two swimming pools, a hot tub, nice landscaping and places to relax outside. Also a view of sunset from outside, people gather together to watch in the evening. Residents and staff were very friendly and overall had a good vibe. The condo is very nice, a good space for two people and clean, contemporary design. View of the water and center courtyard space. Cool new bathroom and shower which I loved. The bed was on the less firm side so not so comfy in my opinion if you have back issues and you need support. We also tried sleeping on the sofa couch and not too comfortable either. I think a more comfortable chair and couch in the living room would be a good addition to the space. We couldn’t get the tv to work when we wanted to watch a movie one night. Apparently there may be an issue with the cable service. The space would have been perfect for us if the bed was firmer but we made it work. Overall a great place to stay, awesome location, super enjoyable and lovely relaxing vacation spot on Maui.

Modern remodel with a great ocean view
This is an exceptionally nice, beautifully remodeled condo with a fabulous ocean view. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the layout provides more space than in the standard units we’ve stayed at in the past. The owners and managers were easy to deal with and accommodating, and kindly mailed me an item I’d accidentally left behind. Highly recommended!

Absolutely Amazing
Our stay in Maui was extra special because of our VRBO rental!!! The condo was much better than we expected and the location was excellent...the home was beautifully furnished and well stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay...the Gazebo restaurant located just steps away had excellent food and although there were lineups all the time we just called down, placed our order and in 15 mins we were back in condo having delicious food...our thanks to the owners for letting us stay in there condo and we will definitely stay there again when we return to Maui. If you are planning a trip to Maui, don't even hesitate to book this unit!!!!! Cheers Doug and Robin

Paradise, with delightful extras
Absolutely cherished our time in H-262. The location at Napili Shores was perfect for us, and the unit is perfectly situated within the complex. A short walk to the beach (I mean, SHORT!). At night we fell asleep to the rhythm of the ocean, you can hear the waves crashing — but not too loudly. The kitchen is fully stocked and has everything you could possibly need. Even a wine fridge! We made good use of the water dispenser on the fridge to fill our bottles every day. We appreciated the beach chairs, towels and sun shade umbrellas. Although we managed to forget the umbrellas in the suite every time. The bed was wonderful, the furnishings all very comfortable and having coffee on the balcony in the morning was a treat. I would say, if you rent a car, favour something small. We had a Nissan Versa and it fit in all the parking spots. I'm not sure how all the Jeeps and Mustangs squeezed in, because the parking stall are narrow. But they did! There is a great shop at Napili Shores to rent snorkelling gear and boards of all kinds. They are very inexpensive. The suite also has some of this gear in the closet, but it's hit and miss. We had a late check-in and were a bit worried about getting our keys, but everything was set up and there were no issues at all.

We stayed in a few different places during our stay in Hawaii but this was our favourite. Very nice views of the ocean from the balcony. Nicely decorated and modern interior. And possibly the most comfortable bed we had ever slept in in the bedroom. We did not want to leave. I would hope to come back one day. When we booked there was only one picture of the place on vrbo but the interior is very nice, they should put more pics.

Clean, well equipped condo with beautiful view of the ocean
My husband and our 2 children stayed in this condo from June 21 to July 5, 2017. It was very clean and exceptionally well equipped. We have stayed at Napili Shores a few times before, but this was the first time in this particular condo and we will try to stay at this condo in the future. The condo was modern and clean, the kitchen appliances were better than average quality for a rental (we loved the bender), the master bed was very comfortable, the water pressure and shower were fantastic, and there was a handy supply of beach gear (e.g., snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, towels). We also liked the location of the condo within the complex because it was quieter than other condos we've stayed in at Napili Shores (not overlooking a pool, at the end of the parking lot). We will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends.
