Although it was relatively cheap, it was not cheap enough for the condition of the room, marks and damage on the walls, the bed should have been disposed of years ago, the skirting boards needed cleaning, the light switch's were very dirty. having said that the hosts were spectacular and very accommodating,

It's not the Ritz, but value for the price and more than adequate. A little dated, but reflects in what you pay. Operators were friendly. Traffic could be a little noisy at times.

I was uncomfortable staying there due to the dirty and unclean conditions, dust everywhere which wasn't good for my hubby with his asthma, marks everywhere in the rooms, carpet felt filthy so kept shoes on all the time. Property could use a good clean and updated in areas too. Plus bedding had hairs all over it, the only good thing was the beds were comfortable to sleep on, however i slept on top of the sheets and had my own pillow and blanket to use.

Good location, good price. Nice and comfortable room, warm and spacious. Great range of channels available on the TV. The property appears to be due for a refurbishment, marks on the wall, chip in the glass door, hard to shut doors and decor show the properties age. Overall for the price I was very happy, we were comfortable, the room was cosy, the bed comfy and warm and the shower hot with good pressure. Good services of the room. Would stay again for the price.

Good stay
No hairdryer. Otherwise fine for our needs. Quiet during night. Noisy from street traffic in the morning. In room breakfast was both good and a good value.

Disappointed in motel but location great.
Booked unit 10 studio $130 a night and ended up in Unit 11 paying same price for dirty dusty room no bigger than a basic hotel room with no comfortable place to sit. Bedcover full of dust and too big for bed, the toilet seat wobbled when you sat on it in the bathroom you could not move in and the room smelt of cooking, a coffee cup in drawer not washed properly and the noise of traffic. Having been in hospitality ourselves was absolutely disappointed and wouldn't think to put guests in a room like this for two nights and to guests who come here every year. Budget room no more than $80 a night once cleaned and tidied is what the cost should be. Payment requested before I got to see room and when I went to office to say something twice it was locked. I have emailed my concern but no response. We could not go elsewhere as everything booked out. Our friends who got moved from this motel got the better deal

Great that our wee poodle is accepted. Lacking in full set of kitchen things eg only one dessert spoon. Not three of everything. all clean and tidy though. Painting in bathroom and toilet a bit rough and outdated.

This motel is very handy to the shopping main street of Richmond. very easy walk into and around town. Lots of cafes and restaurants in easy distance and a good access to the west (Motueka) or north to Nelson.

Even though our confirmation email said a king bed and double sofa bed, we only had a queen bed and sofa not made up. We did get blankets etc though when asked. There were hairs on dining table and in vanity drawer. There were no drapes on the 'back door' and as we were at the end by the road (which we didn't realise), it was very noisy all night. Had there been a drape on the door, things would have been slightly quieter. The double sofa was very uncomfortable. It was clean apart from the hairs and the smell of curry.

When your booking isn't a booking.
So booked several weeks in advance for a family gathering to celebrate an 80th. There were 3 separate bookings from my family for this motel. Yes we all wanted to be together at the same place for ease of communication activities socializing and transportation. Arriving off a flight from Auckland on Friday evening and just getting into rental car when I return the missed call on my phone. Ahhhhhh the people in your room want to extend and we have no where else for you so we have booked you into another motel down the road. Address ?? Oh its through the lights and just on your left ?? Address would have been useful. Well we were really disappointed. Had no one else from the family been there it would not have mattered. But it did matter...but these things happen...so just suck it up ..but a question ...seriously....how come the first attempt to get hold of me to tell me this was 5pm on Friday night. Did you not know before then ? It just leaves me thinking actually it didn't matter to you....but it did matter to us.

Nasty evil manager and staff.
We arrived at our motel only to be told our booking had been sold on. Unbeknown to us we were a day late in our 6 day stay at this motel. We received no phone call or email asking what or why we were running late. They stated they had phoned us. But that was untrue. When asked about our other 5 days we were told “ no show... no refund” We were astounded to be treated this way. This manager and his staff became abusive and threatening. We asked him to back off or we will call the police, which made him worse. It was extremely frightening. We left..... called Wotif who sorted out our refund for the remaining 5days. We went down the street and stayed in a lovely motel for the 5 days we stayed in Nelson. It’s sad to think some people could’ve walk away with no refund after this bullying behaviour. Double dipping on motel units is not fair. Thanks for your support Wotif.

Hi Sylvia, Thanks for your comments, sadly we had tried to contact you and as per our policys as you did not show up or make contact yourself with us your booking was voided. Your comments in regards to the manager becoming abusive and threatening have been passed onto the police along with the video and audio footage of the incident which shows this to be untrue and incorrect.

'Does the job' for a few nights
We were staying in Richmond for a few days, and needed a place to stay. There were not many options available, so chose this motel, which did the job. However, the room was dated and smelled like cigarette smoke, even though it was supposedly a non-smoking room. The motel is very close to the main highway through Richmond, so there it a lot of traffic noise (we knew this was the case before arriving, so brought ear plugs). The rooms seemed reasonably sound proof, as we couldn't hear anything from neighboring rooms. And the internet was excellent, which unfortunately seems to be an exception in New Zealand.

Very comfortable motel. A short walk to shops
Very clean room and helpful and accommodating staff. We stayed in very hot conditions so air conditioning would have been wonderful but they gave us a fan to help with our comfort. Nothing was too hard for them and gave us some good tips on where to go and what to do. We used the pick up service from the airport and they were there and waiting. Easier to stay in Richmond than Nelson. Would stay again.
