Better than a motel...friendlier
We stayed in the Hyde House which was a beautiful older home which could also be said for the Primrose House across the street. It was really nice to have a lady come in and fix breakfast for everyone. It was not a continental breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, toast, oatmeal etc.Meeting and talking to some of the other guests (we had a full house) was enjoyable. Breaking bread with someone is really a great way to know them. Nelsonville is on the southern end of the Hocking Hills area. A++

Good location
We only stayed overnight, but it was close to things we wanted to do (Rocky Boot Co and Scenic Railway). Check in and out was very easy. Our room and the entire home was very clean. We were given great suggestions for dinner and things to do/see.

A VISIT TO THE HOCKING HILLS AREA
The Hocking Hills experience was great and the Hyde House accommodation in Nelsonville was convenient to the hiking opportunities in nearby Logan. Getting to know others who were staying at the B&B made the time we spent there more enjoyable.

Beautiful bed and breakfast.
We really enjoyed our stay. Such a cute and quaint bed and breakfast. This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and we plan to stay at this one again. Cherokee was an amazing host, cook and housekeeper. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The house was immaculate.

Dry beautiful and clean property…
The house is absolutely gorgeous and everything was very clean. We ended up leaving a day early just because the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the TV in our room didn’t work (I cannot sleep without it on). Overall the place is great and there was a lot of stuff to do nearby. A different mattress and a working TV and we would definitely return. The cook and cleaning lady was also great!

Perfect get away
My wife and I decided to get away and looked over many options but thankful we chose to stay here. The area is beautiful and close to Athens, Logan and of course many options in Hocking Hills. Great room and the breakfast was good that was prepared for guests. We will be coming back and recommending for sure!

Quiet and Cozy
The property is located in a quiet neighborhood close to the town center. It was cozy and very clean. A delicious breakfast was served by a hospitable cook. Would book again.

Beautiful home
We loved staying here. Unfortunately, we were not at the property much due to hiking but once we got there, it felt good to be "home". After a long day of hiking, the bed felt amazing!

Beautiful home, decent breakfast, different room?
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It was nice to meet the owners who visit in the morning and actually cook your breakfast. The first morning's breakfast was good, but the second morning left slimmer options, so we opted for a local diner instead. Our room, the Tulip Tree, was quaint with lots of antique character. The comfort of the bed was to be desired, however, and the showerhead definitely needs replacing as it sprays pure needles of water at you and in all directions. I would overall recommend staying at the house, but perhaps request a different room. The main room, or study, and the patio were our two favorite places to relax. They went the extra mile with the interior decor and furniture.

Beautiful historic home and fabulous hospitality
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Hyde House (Tulip Tree suite) in Nelsonville, OH. While planning an early fall trip to Hocking Hills, we found Hyde House B & B to be an affordable alternative to staying in a hotel. Upon arrival, we were very pleased with the beautifully decorated and clean historic home. Breakfast the next morning included french toast, sausages, fresh strawberries and a variety of alternatives for those desiring a lighter fare. I really enjoyed the conversation and appreciated the information shared by our chef and the owner of the establishment, Jennifer. I would not hesitate to book this same location again and recommend this wonderful B & B.

Very nice B&B
The room was very comfortable and clean. Nelsonville was a little quiet after the pandemic and not quite as interesting as we had hoped but we had a wedding nearby and the room was so much better than a hotel. Totally lived up to expectations. Breakfast was simple but very well prepared (eggs, bacon/sausage and biscuits/toast). Very well appreciated (the smell of bacon cooking actually woke us up).

Cozy place!
Place was cozy, but wasn't expecting to be in a little run down town, half was closed up and some runner down homes. The mattress was out of date needed to be better and porch needed cleaned and cigarettes and garbage taken care of on porch also. But in all was good.

Weekend getaway
This was the perfect place to stay for a weekend getaway. My husband and I spent the day at Hocking Hills State Park which was a close drive. We also enjoyed dinner at the Rhapsody on the square. Breakfast in the morning was good with plenty of food.

Birthday Getaway
The house was super cute! Everybody staying there was quiet and kept to themselves. The chef was super nice and friendly. Only complaint is the mattress on the bed definitely needs some updating. There also was an alarm going off one evening. We weren’t sure who to contact about it, so another guest ended up calling the fire department and they took care of it. Maybe having an emergency property management number posted somewhere would be good. Overall it was a nice stay for a weekend getaway!

Great place
We had a great experience except for our bed wasn’t very comfortable at all. When we moved, springs would pop and were poking through the mattress. Breakfast was amazing and the area and house itself was wonderful!

One of the best places we’ve stayed so far! So much fun, and EVERYONE we met was so kind.
There were so many things to do locally, and within 20minutes of the property we had access to tons of hiking options, as well as shopping and supporting small business. The room we stayed in was extremely clean and well kept, our chef for breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in a long time, everything was well organized, and EVERYONE we met through the location we stayed as well as in the community were so kind!

Husbands Birthday Getaway
We had a wonderful time. Hot tub was great. Very clean and relaxing. Tulip room was a bit cold when we got there but we started the electric fireplace, warmed us up quickly. Walls are thin but other guests were considerate and not noisy. Breakfast was good.

Perfect Location
This boutique style rental was the perfect location for exploring the New River Gorge area. The descriptions and pictures are very accurate, it was an adorable place to stay. I would recommend it highly and would definitely stay here again!

Perfect spot for a getaway
It was a beautiful home that was warm and cozy. It was great after some hiking and traveling to come back to the hot tub. Head to Jacks Steakhouse for amazing food, we were told the local pizzeria in Nelsonville that got rave reviews but we didnt get a chance to try it. This place was perfect spot in between the National park (temp closed) and Hocking Hills State Park.

A wonderful weekend
Loved the historical home. It was clean and had the modern amenities needed, but a uniqueness to it. Breakfasts were bountiful and delicious. Hot tub was relaxing and spotless clean. Stairs to hot tub should be secured for safety- if you did not step in the middle of the stair, it would tip. Hosts were great. Would recommend to anyone!

We enjoyed our stay. The food was great and the room and house was mostly clean. We enjoyed the hot tub as well as th bathroom in each room. Our first night we did see a mouse run across the kitchen floor.

We loved staying at the Hyde Home B and B! Our room was gorgeous as was the whole house. Breakfast was yummy and everyone was super friendly. Our only issue was the room was absolutely frigid when we got there. We got the heater turned on and it got better after an hour or so. Maybe have someone turn the heater on before the guest arrives is my only suggestion. Thanks for a great weekend!

Great property. Weird check in.
We loved the property and the location. The breakfast was great. The check in (picking up the keys from another location) was a little weird. Normal for a cabin rental but odd for a B&B. Otherwise fantastic.
