Bienville House

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: My room had three huge windows overlooking the Mississippi River.
Cons: See above.
Location: The Bienville House is located very close to everything in the French Quarter.
This small gem of a hotel was just right. The staff is very friendly and helpful But I would say the one major drawback is the lack of a dining facility. Every morning we would have to hunt for a good breakfast when it would be much easier to dine right in your hotel. The other thing is the freight train issue. Seems that every night about 3:00 am a freight train passes right near by the hotel with whistles bellowing in the night. If you are a sound sleeper this is not a problem ;-)

Small hotel in New Orleans

Location was perfect, by the river and walking distance to great food and shopping but not in the middle of all the Bourbon Street craziness.

Nice place, be specific in your requests.

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Entire hotel was appointed beautifully, including the rooms. All staff was very nice. Great location.
Cons: To give guests the option to occupy a room with or without windows.
Location: Great location, walk the entire French Quarter, walk the Riverwalk, short distance to the Garden District.
We had the best time on this Expedia trip. Everything about this hotel was very good, however from now on I have to always request a room with a window. One would think this would not be necessary, our room did not have a window, though we did not spend our entire time in our room, we really missed it in the morning. We asked at the desk for another room, they were full and no exchanges we're available though it was offered. Also, there wasn't internet available in our room #420, and I didn't see a daily paper.

HOTEL MONTELEONE & HOTEL BIENVILLE

Posted Oct 3, 2014
Pros: Everything
Location: Le Vieux Carré or French Quarter is an amazing place. These is so much to see there and near there.
I have previously stayed at the beautiful and quaint Hotel Bienville. This time, I was "upgraded" to Hotel Monteleone a block away and it was just a dream.

Good Location But Hotel Could Be Improved

Posted Sep 24, 2014
Pros - location to local attractions - beautiful courtyard with pool - complementary breakfast Cons - room not clean to my expectations (specifically bugs in light fixture) - room in disrepair (fraying carpet, peeling tub, dripping faucet) - unattentive staff (AC out in one of our rooms with no follow up, requested additional towels that we didn't receive) Overall I wouldn't tell friends NOT to stay there, but I also was not overly impressed. Had a much better stay at Hotel Le Marais right down the street.

Great location

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Update rooms
Location: Near Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, Harrahs Casino, The French Market, Aquarium, and Steamboat.
Bienville House is a boutique hotel located in the SW area of the French Quarter. It is convenient to many of the local attractions. Staff is friendly and helpful and there are numerous restaurants close by. The rooms are a little dated and worn but clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Ask for a window

Posted Sep 5, 2014
I could not believe my eyes when we entered our room with no windows. Nowhere in the description is this mentioned, and waking up to blackness is worse than it sounds. Luckily, a real room opened up the next day. Had it not been an amazing stay otherwise, I'd probably request a refund for the first night.
