Literature to life showcase

Pros: Location. Close to everything mid-town.
Cons: Rooms could be a bit larger.
Location: Walking distance to Saks, Bloomindales, Madison Avenue shops, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's. Could not ask for a better location.
Hotel was perfectly located. Comfortable, modern, clean room, albeit a bit small. However, that is a minor critique. All in all a terrific place to stay.

Great hotel, great location

Posted Jan 7, 2015
Pros: kitchenette, size of room, location, comfort, cleanliness
Cons: nothing to suggest
Location: Rockefeller Centre, shopping, Central Park, Bryant Park and the Public Library, Times Square, Broadway and numerous theatres, subway
A great feature of The Benjamin is its excellent location in mid-town Manhattan. Located on the corner of Lexington and 50th, it is an easy walk to Rockefeller Centre, Times Square, Broadway, Central Park and the excellent shops on Fifth Ave. There is easy access to the subway if you wish to go further afield. Another excellent feature is the small kitchenette that contains a tea/coffee maker, a fridge and freezer of good size, a microwave and a sink. For those who get tired of eating in restaurants, it is easy to prepare small things in your room. I like to be able to have plenty of water, fruit and yogurt so this kitchenette enabled me to do that. I also like to use left-overs if I have had a particularly good meal. The room itself is large with a very comfortable king size bed, plenty of storage space and places to sit and relax. Attached to The Benjamin is The National, a very good restaurant which made ordering dinner from room service an excellent idea. It is also convenient for breakfast and, again, the food is excellent. The staff were friendly and professional and very helpful. Every aspect of this stay was excellent.

Pros: Convenient, elegant, comfortable, well appointed rooms.
Cons: Better communication between desk staff. The initial front desk person didn't seem to have the energy to make it right/happen until I complained 1.5.
Location: Great midtown location.
Check in was a problem as only one of our two rooms was ready at 3pm. There was a lack of communication between the front desk staff between shifts. The follow up with housekeeping wasn't made until I complained explicitly. The follow up staff tried to make things right and did a nice job following through. The rest of the staff from doorman to housekeeping were great. Aside from the check in mess up, I loved the hotel.

Pros: It was clean and comfortable. The pillow menu was an added bonus.
Location: We dined at The National - the hotel's restaurant. The service was amazing and the food was simply amazing. Such a treat.
My husband and I live in New York but just needed a baby-free weekend "away" from home. The Benjamin provided the much needed rest and relaxation we were looking for.
