Staff was friendly however the hotel was just average. The rooms were clean but some of the outlets did not work, and most of the equipment in the gym was broken .. 2 of the elliptical machines and 1 treadmill did not work. Location was good ... walking distance to most places.

Clean hotel; friendly staff; very good selection of breakfast items; adequate parking. Our room was facing the busy Coast Highway but it wasn't too noisy. The shower and toilet in the room could use a little TLC from a plumber.

This is a very nice hotel located in a beautiful area of Newport. Breakfast was a better version of 'free' hotel breakfasts.

Enjoyed my three night stay very much. Quiet, clean, great breakfast (and bright, spacious breakfast room), pleasant staff, and convenient to all the places I wanted to go to. I had a rental car so it was quick and easy to get to my destinations. Appreciated having the fridge, coffee maker, and microwave in the fridge. Comfortable bed too!

The small John Wayne memorial park just up the hill (accessible via stairs from the adjacent commercial lot) had a great view of the area and was a nice place for my morning exercises.

Everything else was excellent, except our room smelled very bad, almost like a strong smell of mildew. Lucky for us the weather was good, because we ended up sleeping with our window open for that reason.

This was a nice Holiday Inn Express where you know what to expect and they delivered. My only two complaints were that our bathroom door didn’t lock. The door wouldn’t close enough to engage the lock. I told the front desk so hopefully they’ll fix it for the next guest. The other issue is the incredibly small parking spaces. It’s basically not possible for anyone other than a Smart Car or motorcycle to park there without going over the lines. In trying to maximize their lot space, they’re likely getting lots of customers with scratched up and dinged car doors. If they’re charging for parking, they should provide parking that’s safe for your car.

It was a comfortable stay, and reasonably clean. The shower head was weak and we didn't like the mat in the bathtub. The breakfast was excellent.

Great friends birthday trip
Loved the location and the beds were really comfortable. The breakfast was nice. A little more variety each day would be nice. The staff was super helpful and we enjoyed the pool one day and the jaccuzzi one night.
