“Noisy, dirty extended stay hotel”
My wife and I stayed at Bragg Towers in Alexandria, VA, while visiting Washington, DC. It was listed as an extended stay hotel, but I don't recommend it. The hotel has no ice machine because they have dorm fridges. It was not enough ice for me and would not keep ice cream frozen. There are washers and dryers in the basement if you can stand the smell down there. I couldn't. The front desk people were very nice and informative. There are vehicles honking horns and people shouting in the parking lot after midnight. There is free coffee, sugar and creamer in the lobby. Bring your own toilet paper. Rough towels. Small sized "full" bed with no standing room on one side. Good room heat/ac, good cable tv, very little room to hang clothes. Not going back there.
“Not impressed”
Hotel shows it's age and is in need of renovations. The rooms were clean but reaked of bleach the entire time we were there. Needless to say, we also did not dare to venture outside after dark even though the parking lot was well lit. After alerting front desk about 1 tub holding water above our calves, they did take a look at it whereby it did drain, but still held water above the ankles.
“The worst bed I ever had in last 10 years.”
Do not consider the price first.
“Welfare Hotel”
NEVER AGAIN! You feel dirty just being in the room. The Wifi is a joke! Got a nice holy sheet! Not worth more than $45 a nite, I paid way too much for this dump!
“Run down apartment complex or hotel?”
When we arrived the placed looked liked a run down apartment complex instead of hotel. There were even people putting together a grill in the lobby! The staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel was not as obvious to find since the road to it weaves through what appears to be a parking lot of a strip mall. It was reasonably close to Washington, train station, and down town Alexandria. I would not recommend this place to single women to stay at. I would not have felt comfortable staying by myself. We only used this hotel to crash at night after day long touring Washington. If you are looking for fancy this is not it!
“Comfortable place”
Very relaxed atmosphere. Not a place for snobs or someone who wants everything to look new. A great place for real people looking for a comfortable, clean place at the end of busy days.
“NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL”
We disliked the hotel so much, that we did not stay the second night. It was horrible. The neighborhood did not seem safe. Hotel was not worth it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
“A so-so hotel”
A so-so hotel. Outside doesn't look like much. Room was not very big, but was manageable. No breakfast available, but there is a restaurant around the corner.
“Not as advertised! Dirty, Bad Location, Spend money elsewhere”
This hotel is advertised as a nice little affordable suite style, but is hardly that. This being a two star hotel I was not expecting any luxury, but standards are low here. To illustrate these low standards; describing the quality and cleanliness as 'sub-par' would be a compliment. The hotel is tucked away behind a small shopping center, which you have to drive into to get to Bragg St. It was slightly confusing and I encountered some rudeness when I had to call for directions (twice). Housekeeping leaves dirty towels and trash in the hallways for hours and since the rooms have kitchenettes, the halls are filled with various food odors (mine was fish). The room itself was kept a little better than the common areas, but still dirty. WiFi is available and there were two windows of time; early in the morning and late at night where the internet was running smoothly. Otherwise, it kept disconnecting due to low signal strength. I am a photographer so I only used this room as a place to crash to save money, but I would have been willing to pay extra for better conditions and closer metro access. The nearest metro station is about a 15 minute drive. I have stayed in other two star hotels that were far better. If you want a two star hotel, I would suggest a chain. This one is more one star status in my opinion. My advice: stay near Old Town/King's Street. It's a much better representation of Alexandria and is close to the metro.
“Run! Really far, and then some!”
Never again. Bugs, grimmy, old, worn, doesn't even begin to say how bad this place was. Right down to the drug dealers and hookers in the parking lot. NEVER AGAIN.
