“Our stay at the Jolly Roger”
This motel is a great place to stay when enjoying Disneyland. Our room was quiet, very clean, and parts of it were charmingly updated. The vanity/sink area in particular was very nice, and the towels were folded into cute little animals. However, there were no towel racks anywhere, which is a bit annoying when trying to figure out whose towel is whose. The modern, low flush but powerful, toilet wasn't securely fastened to the ceramic floor and it rocked and rumbled a bit.
The beds were hard as brick, as were the pillows. I asked one of the maids for more pillows, and she was so friendly and accommodating and asked how many. I said three, and she brought a pile of 4 fluffy pillows, much better than the ones that were on the bed. That helped make the hard bed a bit more comfortable.
There are no refrigerators in the rooms, so we asked to rent one for $10 a night. We were delivered the tiniest dorm-room refrigerator that exists, and it didn't fit much at all. But then they didn't charge us for it anyway.
Parking is great here, and they let you park up until midnight on the day of check-out, so if you want to save the $$$ of parking at Disneyland, you can walk the half mile or so to the main entrance. And if you're just too exhausted after a day at the theme parks, there is a bus from the main gate to the motel. It usually costs $3 a ride, but we weren't charged at all. And you can buy multi-day passes for less.
All in all, it's an older motel, but the price is right.
