Worst hotel experience in years.

Posted Jul 6, 2014
From the large party of underage tenants blasting music all night to the complete rudeness of management, the worst experience I have had at a hotel in many years. We were there 6 nights so got a very good sampling and felt a need to warn others. Many better choices available nearby.

Would definately return

Pros: Everyone was allowed to act as if they were on vacation. Location was great and a lot of stores and resturants close by.
Cons: Elevator was old and jacuzzi too small
Location: Balboa Beach, Pier, and marina
Great location. Crowed because of wedding party and team staying. It was loud but everyone was friendly and enjoying themselves. Kid friendly place and pleasant staff. Not sure if it is always this crowded but if someone was looking for a quiet time, this was not the place. People were not loud all night so it was still a great place to rest from a busy day.

Pros: the staff, the restaurant and bar on site is great.
Cons: more attention to cleaning & vacuum of carpets, including around and inside elevator
Location: newport village, pier, etc. etc. lot of things to do, good loation
our room was not vacuumed well, only had one towel, one pkg. of coffee, the second day, after informing the housekeeping person, we had a couple sets of towels, coffee service for two, as it should have been on day one also. While showering, the water got hot and cold, never staying warm more than 30 seconds, very annoying. The front desk, bartender and staff were great, maintenance staff needs work.

The Ramada Hotel in Newport

Posted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: The room set up and layout was great, I couldn't hear my neighbors, very clean and nicely furnished.
Cons: Improvement for this hotel would be n/a.
Location: Balboa island, the beach, grocery stores, it was all nearby!
The front desk agents where nice, the rooms where clean, pleasing to be in, and the area around the hotel was great for wholesome food.

The last who checked me in and out was not hospitable at all not did she take one to explain some charges-- I had to request clarification. Everyone else was great though.

Unabated Noise

Posted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: Clean.
We asked for a quiet room as we were needing to arise very early the next morning. At 12pm a large group of adults and young children were checked into rooms next dorr and directly above us. They proceeded to party like frat boys for almost 2 hours. The guests did not even responded constant pleas for attention from their own children. After talking directly to the guest to be quiet, I called to the front desk for assistance. They ever so genstly asked that they be quiet about 20 minutes later. As soon as the hotel employee walked away the din continued. Bottom line: Nothing was done about it that was timely or effective. Paper thin hotel walls did not help.
